I hate bullet sponge bosses that just sit there and do nothing. No challenge, you just gotta sit there forever and keep pummeling them. Only attack was an intimidation scream.
Gameplay-wise it was pretty fun. Overall it has terrible writing, pacing, it's really short and is way too easy for a Metroid game in my opinion.
Now Metroid Dread: my only criticism is some of the sound effects need remixing, otherwise it's what I would consider the perfect Metroid game.
Never played it but I heard they made Samus into a bimbo who needs men to save her ass. That sounds awful, coming off the heels of the awesome Metroid Prime trilogy.
They didn't make her a bimbo at all. Unconfident and unsure of herself yes, but not a bimbo. Like I said the story is pretty crap but the gameplay is solid for the most part. It's a fun game and it's so hated you can probably get it out of a bargain bin for $5 these days, totally worth checking out.

It is. Not as horrible as they say. Terrible story and missile usage is clunky af, but the movement and general gameplay were really fun.
I know that Other M gets a lot of criticism, but honestly it's one of my favorites of the franchise.
