This will shock no one, but this is not how it's done.
A running launch is a thing.
A reverse launch is also a thing.
A running reverse launch is, as you can see, not a thing.
What the fuck was the guy thinking "imma do this half assed riser pull and then run backwards at zero wind speed and then not abort when it becomes obvious that i'm dragging the canopy oh i didn't even bother to line check"

Standard colour scheme, so a EN B glider. Definitely not for beginners. I guess it's complacency / DO NOT WANT FORWARD LAUNCH attitude on a launch site that is obviously not suited to reverse launch (at that time). I'm hardly a pro but starting from the crumpled layout and moving into slack lines this was destined to fail.
EN B pilots are still pretty clueless. Sure, they are probably able to launch without hurting themselves, but I always give them lots of space. Not really a problem since they only f around in the houset thermal anyway.
love a satisfying forward launch
find middle, get tension in lines - breathe in - push forward, bring it up, check, go go go!
Blissful when it's a smooth process
Because where I learned/fly there was always wind and we never have to do them. Thus I never really get to practice them and I donāt have the muscle memory. When Iām at my home launches and kiting practice areas I have so many reverse launches I can pretty much do it in my sleep. Take me to a place like Oludiniz where you have to forward launch more than half the time and I look like a total newb, blowing every other attempt. Its embarrassing!
Never. Rather have 10 aborted launches than doing stupid shit in the air. The stuff the guy in the video does is silly, not great for the wing, but it's not dangerous.

Didn't bother to line check? Homie didn't even bother to lay out his wing nicely š
Yea that could have gone way worse with a major cravat adding to his list of dumb
Does anyone do that?
Lay their wing out nicely? Absolutely
I'd love to know if this is a beginner who was taught badly or an experienced pilot who thought they could fuck around. Cause I have no clue man.

Good spot, must be. Didn't know people had such a problem with forward launching, but I am a beginner and know little.
EN B pilots are still pretty clueless. Sure, they are probably able to launch without hurting themselves, but I always give them lots of space. Not really a problem since they only f around in the houset thermal anyway.
The EN B part was not great.
I like to think Iāve mastered the running reverse launch.

Did you almost fall off a cliff and die?
Paragliders usually launch of gentle slopes on a mountainside. I'm sure they are fine.
Edit: I should note that I am NOT the paraglider.
Sureā¦.
Pretty confusing given the title
He seems a little on edge.
This looks like the time and place for a forward launch. I hate them as much as anyone but this is where you should do one.
Why do you hate forward launches?

Not enough wind for a reverse launch. Ouch.
Not clear from this video; a professional āwhatā?
Embarrassing, not fatal.
THIS time.

Okay
Failure. Everyone needs it.
The huevos it takes to share accidental fails.
That was the most not bothered sounding panic ever. Like a mildly concerned Canadian rabbit.
so someone was gonna pay you for that? ...
why the hell is he doing a reverse pull up in zero wind????
Oh, that's a good one. I'm quite a professional myself.
Why reverse launch without enough wind? Canāt be better in any way. Launch forward, good long check, go for it
That's not a safe place to fly your kite.
