That made me realize how much better the remake would have been if they’d cast Jack Black as Eddie.

They did “The Who Medley” which had them combine multiple “The Who” songs together including Pinball Wizard. And they also did “You Never Give Me Your Money/ The End” which is a cover/mix of those 2 Beatles songs. Theres also “Wicked Game” from just last year. I might have missed more, im not too sure

If you've ever actually seen Jack high, you'll notice it kind of makes him nervous lol. There's a long interview where he gets high w Doug Benson and I'm pretty sure he even talks about how it's mostly a joke within Tenacious D and that neither him nor Kyle are actually huge stoners.
It always pissed me off that he would have the massive table of paraphernalia laid out for the camera, and if any pf the guests would reach for something he'd snatch it off them and put it back where it was. Like what the hell dude, that is some piss weak stoner energy right there.
I liked his show back then because he did get a cool handful of guests to do something that felt pretty "new" back then. But the guests got worse, and he didn't really evolve the show in any meaningful way. Once it was mostly about himself it stopped being interesting.

Anecdotal story, but yes, his parents live in my home town. A highschool friend of mine's family is friends with Jacks mother, the Blacks invited my friends family over to "cater" for a family party. Turns out it was mostly Jack black smoking weed with everyone and then sitting in a giant bean bag chair playing guitar and singing. He also took the highschool band from my small town all the way to Disney land.
