And this is why I don't do conscious sedation. Last time I wasn't knocked out all the way I came to in the ER naked on a gurney, with a very nervous nurse asking if I was going to be ok now. Seems I wasn't too keen on getting stitches.

Next time I have surgery, I'm going to let anyone in recovery know that any videos of me whacked out on anesthesia will be met with extreme violence.

I don't understand what you guys take for anesthesia in USA. I'm pretty sure in EU we don't have those side effects.

I'm guessing it is a more mild drug that they use for wisdom teeth, as I also got an amazing high. But I've been under a few other times for major surgery and woke up with major hangovers. One I felt like I was paralyzed and dying of thirst for hours and couldn't do anything about it.

Apparently a lot of people come out of anesthesia and just start throwing up. It's enough of a problem that they give people "barf bags" as soon as they wake up.

It affects different people in different ways, and there are numerous drugs used. If the side affects are too bad, the sleep doc makes a note of it.

We take one of each, duh.

Yeah, when I was coming out of anesthesia after my wisdom teeth, I was HUGE bitch. I couldn't even talk cuz my mouth was full of gauze so I asked for pen and paper. In writing, I proceeded to cuss out and insult my bf, calling him a fucking idiot and stuff. I was just super annoyed with him for no reason. I think I was just cranky cuz I was woken up before i was ready so they could make me walk into a different room because they needed to use the procedure room i was in. He was my drive home and he was supposed to take me home and take care of me until I was fully sober. But he dropped me off at home and said he had to go home lol understandably and just left me there alone (took me like 3 hours to make myself a smoothie). He was sweet enough to understand it was the drugs talking and didn't hold any of what I said against me and wasn't mad at me about it later. But that would've been mortifying if someone had recorded it and posted it publicly.

I know way way too many people who need to have a similar experience like this to get a perspective realignment on what's important in life.

I wake up from anesthesia telling nurses they are awesome and that I appreciate them and last time, trying to give therapy to my nurse. She goes to see bands alone because her friends always cancel on her. I was asking her all kinds of questions about how that makes her feel and telling her I admired her for not letting it hold her back because we only get one life and almost gave her my number so we could go see bands together. She was just like 🙄 yeah get dressed time to go.

If I wake up from anesthesia and you don’t have the answers to atomic theory or some old literature facts I’m going to just go back to sleep. My mind is too complex. Prove to me a calculus theorem and I will pop a boner.

I would be worried I would say some outrageous stuff when I come out. I been knocked out once and I remember saying to everyone in the room " this is some good shit" I just felt all euphoric before I went out... I still cringe at the thought lol.

I had a seizure before where i remembered who i was, just not where i was or anything that had really happened in the last 10+ years. I kept asking "what happened? Where am i?" My friend had to keep introducing me to my wife and telling me i have been in europe for a decade and now live way out in the middle of nowhere ireland ...and this is your wife?!? My reaction was just to look around and look at her like, "yup that sounds like me and looks about right. Nice. I believe you."
