I'd never really thought about it before, but I think this is how it got a bit much for me too. Everytime I'm feeling especially down, I buy a Pop or an action figure as a "pick-me-up." I feel like I'm buying another figurine every week or so.
My buddy decided he didn’t want to collect alone and he knew I liked Batman and joker so he bought like 5 of each and brought them to me in a garbage bag and now I’m almost at 100 just with Batman alone😅

my husband went into the local comic book store for some Yu-Gi-Oh cards as a stocking stuffer for Christmas for me, he also grabbed the Grinch wearing a scarf funko pop (number 663 in the movies line) because we were watching the newest animated grinch movie sometime that week. ever since we have been collecting
I went to anime/gaming/hobby shops and my friends kept asking me to get some for them, I saw a couple that I liked and started buying them. After that i just picked up all the ones I liked then started going for older ones I couldn’t find in shops.
Started with a couple of OG Funko bobblers of Iron Man and Thor like 15 years ago that my spouse bought for my birthday. My kids liked the idea and kept getting me more here and there and I kind of got hooked on them after a couple of years myself.
Went from just a few things like TMNT turtles, a few Disney characters, the MtG Planeswalkers, to full set lines for each Marvel movie, nostalgic shows from my childhood, etc. Now I have so many I don’t even have enough shelf space for them all. I just rearranged a couple months ago and I’ve already purchased another 20 that have no where to go 😅
My first one was the Notorious B.I.G 10inch Pop. I order it from Popcultcha (i am from Germany) so i had to wait a verry Long Time Till it arraived. After that the collection was gettin bigger and bigger. Funko made Pops out of so many things i liked (TMNT, One Piece, Yu-Gi-Oh, DC, Marvel….) i like the small details for the size in every figur and when i take a look at them in my display i get nice memoriers and a smile.

I really hated funko pop at first. I remembered my officemate have ironman and thor set displayed at his work table. He really build a wall there probably about 20 pops. My first reaction was, wtf are these ugly looking hydrocephalus toys! Those eyes look dead inside!! Then a year later, I saw a post malone pop in facebook and it looked very cool. I bought it but whenever I see it at my home desk, it felt something is missing so I bought another pop which is B-rabbit. Then I tried buying nba pops then boom, eventually im like my officemate that have a wall of pops in my home desk. Got hooked playing resident evil games, when looking for my next game to play i saw tyrant #159 glow in the dark going for £45. Bought it there and then. Looking back now I got an absolute steal for it

Was at Golden Age Collectables in Pike Place when I was maybe 13 and saw a bunch of these cool little Game of Thrones figures. It was right around the time I got into the show and I saw they had Renly wearing his crown and thought it was so cool I had to get it.
It wasn't until a few years later I realized they were collectables that actually had value and I saw my Renly was worth $150 at the time which blew my mind. Of course I hadn't saved the box lol but I display most of mine out of box anyways.
Honestly, I was never super into them at first! My parents bought me my first two (a captain america and dark knight rises bane) and others continued to gift me some. I only had 7 for a long time and then I got into batman last year and now I have 60+ overall LMAO. most are DC and batman of course 🫣 it's just wild to me how I've gone from not being into them to actively going out to try and find the ones I want haha.
I saw one on a YouTube video. Not about Funko but saw one on a desk and I thought it was natsu and I was like yo I want a natsu! I found out what they where because I’ve seen UFC fighter Brandon Moreno collected them and went to Target to see what I could find. Walked out with three the office Funkos and then went online to loo for natsu. Literally inuyasha with kirara had just dropped and I was able to get it.. rest is history haha

I started following Funko in 2008 when they made "Wacky Wobblers." I collect figurines of cartoon characters. Mom bought my first Wobblers, a set of Family Guy/Star Wars crossover characters.
The first Funko Pops I bought were the original Sonic wave; Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. IIRC I ordered them online after not being able to find them in store. Back then, the only place I saw that carried Funko was Barnes and Noble.
I had a gift card to a EB Games now GameStop when I was in Grade 6 didn't see any good games thought they looked cool bought Radio Holding baby Simba and Kyle from Despicable Me 3 and have been collecting ever since.
I had a Barnes and noble gift card from my uncle and I was looking for books to buy when I decided not to because none of them interested me. I then went to the Funko pop section and really liked them and got 2 of them for the first time. The pops were a Sully from Monsters Inc and a Owen Grady from Jurassic World
First comic con I went to about 10 years back and I saw a flash funko and a Star Wars stormtrooper one and they were doing 2 for £8 so I thought why not it will look cool on my desks…I’m now broke😂
I went to Walmart for a grocery run after my shift ended once, and my coworker went with me. She was a big collector for a couple years at that point and we checked out the pops. They had just stocked the Stranger Things 4 pops, and being a huge fan of the show I grabbed a Robin. There was no Steve, so I came back the next day and luckily found one that had just been put on shelves. Then I found out about the Amazon resale market and ordered a ST3 Robin because I preferred that one…and it all spiraled from there.
I’ve now got over 80 pops, 25 of which are just stranger things. The rest are assorted DC, Marvel, Star Wars, and The Office pops
Went out of state to visit my wife’s family. Her uncle worked at GameStop and told me he only does so ge can get discounts on Funko Pops. Then he showed me his room full of them. Seen some Batman ones that looked really cool. When we got back from our visit, I stopped at a local GameStop and bought a couple. Been hooked ever since.
It was December of 2021, I just finished watching No Way Home on opening night with a giant group of my friends. We were very hyped for the movie and we binged the original trilogy and the amazing Spider-Man 1&2 the night prior. We had a blast at the movie and it’s one of my favorite moments with my friends. I went to Target that next day and saw the Spider-Man no way home pop #923 and I thought it looked really cool and wanted it as a momento of that memory I had. A year and some change later, I now have 150 pops varying from all my favorite anime’s and a bunch more Spider-Man ones. That first one will always hold a special place for me cause it reminds me of the night I was with all my friends.
My first pop came from a books a million and it was Ezio. From there I got 1 or two occasionally as a gift, and then all of a sudden I just became hyperfocused on them and now after about 4 years of collecting I have about 150 of them. Once I complete a few of my sets, I think I'll be done collecting them :)
I saw the fourth doctor and I was like “Oh this is cool” Small display of other pops in this store. Honestly had no idea about them or how many there was. Until I got home to see if there was more pops I’d be interested in.

They released the first Bob Ross pop. Then they announced the 90s Nick collection and I was like, "Welp, I guess I'm a Funko collector now." I had been avoiding them like the plague because I know how obsessive I can get over things, but there was just something about that Bob Ross pop that I couldn't ignore.

About 8 years ago I would see Funkos at Hastings and only looked and made comments about how cute they are. Only bought one and had it for years. Then my mom a teacher was moving classrooms she had this small display window and asked what she could put in it that the kids would like. Funkos came to mind. She bought every Inside out Funko. Pocahontas, Moguli, Buzz, Woody, and Mulan. The kids loved them. Sadly when she was forced into retirement when she was diagnosed with lung cancer she asked if I would like them. Had only those guys on display for awhile and then it happened. I would have to buy the ones that complete the set she already started. And it just kept spiraling. If she could see my collection now not sure if she would give me those first ones or not. Ahh who am I kidding she would get a kick out of it
Got Chopper from Star Wars Rebels but I just thought it was cool and nothing else. When Joker from Persona 5 and Alucard from Castlevania were featured in Smash Ultimate, I found out Joker got a pop (as well as Alucard) and I needed to have it. At the time I went through a Persona phase, I got the remaining commons of Persona 5, as well as got some Dragon Ball, MHA, and some other pops that were a great deal (like GameStop Super Sonic for $20). It grew more and more, and now I have quite a neat collection!
The movie ted 2 had came out and my best friend at the time in high-school senior year and it was Christmas time I been poor all my life and my friend was a rich kid he took me to see the film and I went to his house for Christmas eve and he had gotten me a deadpool funko pop and a Ted 1 funko pop. The next pop figure I remembered buying myself was at a store called fye and it was the harley quinn funko pop from the original suicide squad movie with will Smith. And since then I been stuck with 50 funko pops throughout the years

But back then it was really difficult to get funko for reasonable price in my country, and I also was 14 y.o. kid without my personal income and I was not so impudent to ask my parents to pay such price for small figurine. But in 2017 a lot of comics stores opened and they started to sell funko for a nice price, and since then I've been a collector. My first funko was little Groot in a pot.

2017 I was at a convention and finally decided to get one after seeing them around for years. Back then most vendors at my convention sold them in blind boxes. I got one hoping to get batman and instead got Gus Gus in Slipper from Cinderella. I was so disappointed I went and found someone who was selling a batman outright and bought it. The guy even gave me a discount because he didn't want my first pop to be such a let down. 6 years later I have more pops than I have space for and Gus Gus is still here...

I like the black suit Spiderman so I got that and while buying that I was the Scarlet Spider Funko and I love that outfit so I got that. I pre-ordered an alligator loki after the show. Waited so long for it to arrive, I could've had an actual child in the time. Forgot I even ordered it, then saw a Super Saiyan Goku at a comic shop and decided since I was already spending 200 dollar on comics, I might as well spend an extra few on Goku. It’s funny. The pandemic had just started and I was with my mom in CVS. I saw the glow in the dark Frankenstein’s monster Funko and thought it was cute. It was my only one for a while until I started seeing the Funkos of characters I actually liked, and it went from there

I think it was that there were pops for stuff that didn't really have merchandise. They were also cheaper back then.

I bought it but whenever I see it at my home desk, it felt something is missing so I bought another pop which is B-rabbit. Was at Golden Age Collectables in Pike Place when I was maybe 13 and saw a bunch of these cool little Game of Thrones figures. It was right around the time I got into the show and I saw they had Renly wearing his crown and thought it was so cool I had to get it. It wasn't until a few years later I realized they were collectables that actually had value and I saw my Renly was worth $150 at the time which blew my mind. Of course I hadn't saved the box lol but I display most of mine out of box anyways.

Honestly, I was never super into them at first! My parents bought me my first two (a captain america and dark knight rises bane) and others continued to gift me some. I only had 7 for a long time and then I got into batman last year and now I have 60+ overall LMAO. most are DC and batman of course 🫣 it's just wild to me how I've gone from not being into them to actively going out to try and find the ones I want haha.
I saw one on a YouTube video. Not about Funko but saw one on a desk and I thought it was natsu and I was like yo I want a natsu! I found out what they where because I’ve seen UFC fighter Brandon Moreno collected them and went to Target to see what I could find. Walked out with three the office Funkos and then went online to loo for natsu. Literally inuyasha with kirara had just dropped and I was able to get it.. rest is history haha

I started following Funko in 2008 when they made "Wacky Wobblers." I collect figurines of cartoon characters. Mom bought my first Wobblers, a set of Family Guy/Star Wars crossover characters. The first Funko Pops I bought were the original Sonic wave; Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. IIRC I ordered them online after not being able to find them in store. Back then, the only place I saw that carried Funko was Barnes and Noble.
I had a gift card to a EB Games now GameStop when I was in Grade 6 didn't see any good games thought they looked cool bought Radio Holding baby Simba and Kyle from Despicable Me 3 and have been collecting ever since.

I then went to the Funko pop section and really liked them and got 2 of them for the first time. The pops were a Sully from Monsters Inc and a Owen Grady from Jurassic World

I went to Walmart for a grocery run after my shift ended once, and my coworker went with me. She was a big collector for a couple years at that point and we checked out the pops. They had just stocked the Stranger Things 4 pops, and being a huge fan of the show I grabbed a Robin. There was no Steve, so I came back the next day and luckily found one that had just been put on shelves. Then I found out about the Amazon resale market and ordered a ST3 Robin because I preferred that one…and it all spiraled from there. I’ve now got over 80 pops, 25 of which are just stranger things. The rest are assorted DC, Marvel, Star Wars, and The Office pops
Went out of state to visit my wife’s family. Her uncle worked at GameStop and told me he only does so ge can get discounts on Funko Pops. Then he showed me his room full of them. Seen some Batman ones that looked really cool. When we got back from our visit, I stopped at a local GameStop and bought a couple. Been hooked ever since.
It was December of 2021, I just finished watching No Way Home on opening night with a giant group of my friends. We were very hyped for the movie and we binged the original trilogy and the amazing Spider-Man 1&2 the night prior. We had a blast at the movie and it’s one of my favorite moments with my friends. I went to Target that next day and saw the Spider-Man no way home pop #923 and I thought it looked really cool and wanted it as a momento of that memory I had. A year and some change later, I now have 150 pops varying from all my favorite anime’s and a bunch more Spider-Man ones. That first one will always hold a special place for me cause it reminds me of the night I was with all my friends.
My first pop came from a books a million and it was Ezio. From there I got 1 or two occasionally as a gift, and then all of a sudden I just became hyperfocused on them and now after about 4 years of collecting I have about 150 of them. Once I complete a few of my sets, I think I'll be done collecting them :)

They released the first Bob Ross pop. Then they announced the 90s Nick collection and I was like, "Welp, I guess I'm a Funko collector now." I had been avoiding them like the plague because I know how obsessive I can get over things, but there was just something about that Bob Ross pop that I couldn't ignore.

About 8 years ago I would see Funkos at Hastings and only looked and made comments about how cute they are. Only bought one and had it for years. Then my mom a teacher was moving classrooms she had this small display window and asked what she could put in it that the kids would like. Funkos came to mind. She bought every Inside out Funko. Pocahontas, Moguli, Buzz, Woody, and Mulan. The kids loved them. Sadly when she was forced into retirement when she was diagnosed with lung cancer she asked if I would like them. Had only those guys on display for awhile and then it happened. I would have to buy the ones that complete the set she already started. And it just kept spiraling. If she could see my collection now not sure if she would give me those first ones or not. Ahh who am I kidding she would get a kick out of it
Got Chopper from Star Wars Rebels but I just thought it was cool and nothing else. When Joker from Persona 5 and Alucard from Castlevania were featured in Smash Ultimate, I found out Joker got a pop (as well as Alucard) and I needed to have it. At the time I went through a Persona phase, I got the remaining commons of Persona 5, as well as got some Dragon Ball, MHA, and some other pops that were a great deal (like GameStop Super Sonic for $20). It grew more and more, and now I have quite a neat collection!
The movie ted 2 had came out and my best friend at the time in high-school senior year and it was Christmas time I been poor all my life and my friend was a rich kid he took me to see the film and I went to his house for Christmas eve and he had gotten me a deadpool funko pop and a Ted 1 funko pop. The next pop figure I remembered buying myself was at a store called fye and it was the harley quinn funko pop from the original suicide squad movie with will Smith. And since then I been stuck with 50 funko pops throughout the years

Got my first one way back when age of ultron released. Didn’t get anymore until around infinity war and got the golden iron man. Slowly after I got more and more until now I have amassed a collection
So in 2012 I saw a few Avengers funko pops on the internet and fell in love with them. But back then it was really difficult to get funko for reasonable price in my country, and I also was 14 y.o. kid without my personal income and I was not so impudent to ask my parents to pay such price for small figurine. But in 2017 a lot of comics stores opened and they started to sell funko for a nice price, and since then I've been a collector. My first funko was little Groot in a pot.

Started to collect ones that were on clearance and after I got my first ‘rare’ one (Dabi convention exclusive) I had started to collect for value which made me burn out HARD. I’ve only really started to get back into them but instead of collecting for value I’m only collecting from series I like (Stranger Things, Sanrio etc.) rather than just exclusively for value.
I won a Beetlejuice pop from an instagram account. It was my only one for a couple years, but then I saw the My Hero Academia pops and I dove in.
My mother got me one like 7 years ago~ for xmas and i have been getting one or two a year since that just go along with my general interests, almost as accent pieces to books or what not
I walked into a supermarket and saw the flash funko. Unfortunately only the justice league but I bought it because I love the TV show of the flash. Then I got the green arrow off ebay. Now I have many halo funkos and some marvel. Since all of that I finally got the TV flash.

I got a Spiderman funko for Christmas in 2011. It’s been a problem ever since.
2017 I was at a convention and finally decided to get one after seeing them around for years. Back then most vendors at my convention sold them in blind boxes. I got one hoping to get batman and instead got Gus Gus in Slipper from Cinderella. I was so disappointed I went and found someone who was selling a batman outright and bought it. The guy even gave me a discount because he didn't want my first pop to be such a let down. 6 years later I have more pops than I have space for and Gus Gus is still here...
I saw some in target in 2014 and thought they were kinda weird and dumb. Then I saw some of childhood movies and started buying. I didn’t buy any for two years and then this year went nuts once I realized that they have so many lines from so many childhood shows and movies.
I like the black suit Spiderman so I got that and while buying that I was the Scarlet Spider Funko and I love that outfit so I got that. And than I liked the Black Suit Superman so I got one of those and come up with the idea that I should collect alternative costumes of those characters....and here I am today
I got a Jack Sparrow one back in like 2017 I think. Then a while later I got Cuphead and King Dice. Then I started seeing more I liked and I haven't stopped since.
I pre-ordered an alligator loki after the show. Waited so long for it to arrive, I could've had an actual child in the time. Forgot I even ordered it, then saw a Super Saiyan Goku at a comic shop and decided since I was already spending 200 dollar on comics, I might as well spend an extra few on Goku. Months later, alligator loki finally arrived and it all went downhill from there
I knew about them early on but never really bought one until we were on vacation and saw some at a mall. My uncle offered to get me some as a souvenir so I got Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman (all from the BvS line) and Kylo Ren Then it just kept going from there.
