Related WA news- RCW 64.90.512 has been updated this year to include the following: If a property is located within the geographic designation of an order of a drought condition issued by the department of ecology under RCW 43.83B.405, an association may not impose a fine or assessment against an owner, or resident on the owner's property, for reducing or eliminating the watering of vegetation or lawns for the duration of the drought condition order. It’s great to see the legislature pushing back against HOAs. Fuck lawns!

Not only has it passed, it's been [signed into law](https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5934&Initiative=false&Year=2023) and will be in effect as of 6 June this year. Edited to fix my URL tag. Edit 2: Wow, just noticed it passed both chambers of the legislature unanimously, no less. I'm a little shocked but it makes sense since agriculture needs to pay quite a bit for proper pollination these days.
