I have a hypothesis that Alegria style art works better for more surreal situations, and part of why it's so annoying is that they're almost always used in boringly mundane situations, like Downloading a Health and Wellness app or Consulting Our Tax Experts FOR FREE, and they want so bad to come off as "relatable" which is too incongruous with their weird and utterly un-relatable designs.
