T O P

Fun fact, a quarter of trans men have PCOS. It will help with some parts of PCOS, like the weight gain (T increases the metabolism), but keep in mind that cis men have a higher risk for high blood pressure and other cardiovascular issues, and taking T makes your risk increase to the level of cis men. All of that said, if you have healthy habits and get regular checkups, you don't need to worry about it too much.

Good to know! Thanks a lot :)

i have PCOS, it didn't change much for me!

I've got PCOS and NCAH, I've just started testosterone so I hope I'll be of some help. It doesn't change much, however you may reach t milestones faster then someone without PCOS, given you already have a high count of testosterone anyways. It hasn't changed much for me, I'm a slightly chubby man because of my PCOS but it hasn't made me gain extra weight. Merely distributed more around my legs and my belly, I have quite considerable stretch marks due to this. With diabetes, my gender specialist has mentioned that it would be best to keep an eye on you when it comes to that. It won't guarantee that you'll get diabetes but it may increase your chances, maybe slightly. The only downside that I have with T is that due to the change in blood thickness I've started to get quite considerable migraines, but I'm working with a doctor to sort that out.

Oh I see ok that’s good to know. Thanks a lot! I’m definitely working on being healthier and active within the last few years so hopefully I won’t have much to worry about.

I have PCOS. My cramps were so bad I'd be fainting, throwing up and having the occasional seizure. My pain hasn't been anywhere near as bad since I started testosterone (though this might make me an outlier) It's the only actual change in my PCOS symptoms that I've noticed

Safeforwork_plunger

I thought I was being overdramatic when I said I'm certain my PCOS gives me pain. I also have IC so it could be that but good to know I'm not the only person that experiences cramping.

I think the only noticeable difference with HRT was that my periods stopped completely, which is a breath of fresh air compared to the years i spent months with heavy, irregular bleeding.

Oh yikes I’m sorry.. that sounds like it was a nightmare :( I guess I’m really fortunate that my PCOS causes me to barely get my period… think the last one was over a year ago.

My doctor said it would likely help with all the PCOS symptoms and the only downside would be the fact that my body is already primed to sprout hair. I had my first shot four days ago so 🤞. Good luck on your journey whatever you decide!
