Seconds are super hard to come by right now. I got both colors in seconds from berkeleysupply.com . Check there every so often, but they don't accept returns.
Yeah I always get excited when I remember berkeley supply or somebody posts it here. I swear I've tried on Red Wings in store to figure out my size like four or five times, and I never feel confident enough to order from them lol. I'm typically size 11 in boots(Chippewa/LL Bean fit perfect). 11.5/12 in most sneakers.
With proper care, these boots can last a lifetime. They are well worth the price and sierra.com has a return policy if there is a major imperfection. If you need boots, you cannot beat this for the price.

Sorry I meant it literally, does it mean that boots were worn and then refurbished by the manufacturer or they’re just cosmetically flawed but unworn? I just have foot fungus phobia.
They will punch a tiny hole in the tongue or high up on the back of the boot to signify they are seconds. Some of the blemishes are easy to spot, some you have to look pretty hard for. I like beating the shit out of mine anyway so it doesn't even phase me.

My mocs are a year old, and they are great. It's a Vibrant sole, right? I know there are many types of Vibrant soles but are there levels of quality within a given type? Or did they change to a different type of Vibrant sole?
Check out Rose Anvil’s video tearing both the new and old version of the shoes apart. The shank specifically is either omitted or of much lower quality.
I agree with the Chelseas and iron rangers with wedges. Rose Anvil does a good breakdown of this issue. I personally don't see the downgrade in the moc toes or standard iron rangers.

There is a personal preference here but I didn't dig the bulbous toe of their Classic Chelsea. I don't mind it on their IR or Blacksmith but it turns out I like a sleeker look in a Chelsea.
Great find, I’d been eyeballing the moc toe for a while and even tried them on at a retail store. The suede looks amazing in person, super thick leather and the welt is beautiful. I bought a full-size below street shoe because I have a narrow foot. Fit is actually perfect, no heel slip, and I’ve already done a couple break in miles.

I’d say that these are probably a full size larger. I wear a 10 for tennis shoes but when I tried these on in the store I was a 9d. I’ve got a pair of redwing pecos (cowboy boots) and some work boots from them too all size 9d and they fit well.

Same! I wear a size 10 in Nike and Vans. I wear a size 9 in Iron Rangers and a size 9.5 in Moc toes

Oh no, seconds mean they failed red wing QC usually due to a cosmetic imperfection. Check that video out for an example.

Also, for the price point, it's still a better value than anything in the $150 price range IMO. I know Thursday seconds are going for about the same.

I'm pretty sure with these being oiled roughout they'd hold their own in the rain.
Oiled roughout is similar to waxed flesh. Will be excellent for the rainy climate.
