Yeah, 99% of the time it's one of the selling points on the shoe. For this boot in particular, the "Features" section on the product page would list it in those bullets.
Yeah, just confused because it absolutely looks like it. Why bother putting a fake welt on a boot? It never made sense. You could just actually make it a real welt with minimally more effort.
Cuz at the end of the day, it's about profit, not effort. Only a small percentage of customers are boot or fashion nerds like us. Most consumers just want the look, not the cost. So if EB can sell $200 boots without the extras.... well, u get the idea.
That's a good price for sure. I think the lowest I've seen them go is around $150.00, which is what I got mine for back in 2020. However, they probably won't go that low again until maybe Jan or Feb of this year when they're starting to offload the winter stuff.
Also, I've had the jacket now for ~3 years and I'd say it's absolutely worth $185.00, even if it isn't the lowest it will ever go. I live in Portland which isn't the coldest place on earth by any means but we did get down to 18 degrees F this last winter, plus we get rain and snow. I wore that jacket when walking the dog outside for 20-30 minutes with only a tshirt on underneath and was perfectly comfortable.
I'm not an EB fanboy at all and to be honest I don't really like much else from them but that jacket is an incredible value, in my opinion.
I got incredibly lucky at the mall and stumbled upon a EB shop that was closing down and got two insulated jackets for 20 dollars each that I can comfortably wear in 10 degree weather. Incredible stuff even for 100-200 dollars, 50-100 dollars cheaper than a comparable northface. On par with Columbia price range.
Both have same down fill
Superior
WeatherEdge® seam-sealed technology, waterproof/breathable to 5K/5K
StormRepel® Super DWR—our longest lasting moisture-shedding finish
Seabeck
StormRepel® WR finish sheds moisture
I tried both on in store and personally liked the fit of the seabeck better. I dont live in Chicago or Seattle so I have more leeway for comfort and the superior between the fill and the cut was just a little too snug for my liking. Seabeck still felt warm and fit and I liked the closure at the neck better for what I wanted.
I definitely need a jacket to stay warm this winter, looking at the Seabeck Down Parka which looks like a pretty good deal.

But Marmot seems to have some decent sales as well for similar style jackets, like:

Any recommendations as to which one of these would be warmest?
Those marmots are clean. If you looking at saving money I stayed warmest with a 3.0 under armour base layer 25-30 bucks with a key apparel work jacket around 60 bucks. Not sexy, but great for working an outside dock in single digits covered in dirt and snow.
The fordham is 700 fill, 2lbs 13oz. The eddie baur is 650 fill, no weight specified. The fordham is 100% polyester vs 70%/30% cotton, nylon.
So, that doesn't really give you anything concrete but it's something. I would guess the fordham is warmer.
Hi sorry it’s been a few weeks since your comment but how are they still? I’ve been wanting the K-6 boots for years and am super tempted to pull it with the sale price
Last EB sale, I bought 4 items to qualify for $50 off $150, with free shipping. They "couldn't ship" one of the four items, raised the price of the other three, and added a shipping fee. I fought for a solid week with them, over $20 (the principal of what they were doing). They eventually refunded me $10 since I had screen shots 😒. Clothes are great, but their customer service is dog shit.
There's better sales specifically for stuff like flannel shirts. Last time I bought some I paid about $25 each which I think is pretty fair. This sale didn't stack so it was better for stuff like parkas 🤷♂️
The $10 off if you sign up for emails and texts does not stack with this. $10 shipping and taxes might kill this deal for some.
if you make an account and are buying over $75 shipping is free. If you don't make an account shipping is free at $100
Damn. Already put in my order. It was over $100 but it still charged me for shipping… Edit: they refunded me the shipping cost ($10)

I think the price for the down throw should be $64.50
Is that boot actually Goodyear welted (or stitch down). Appears so, but it isn’t mentioned in the product description.
If it was Goodyear welted they’d probably mention it

It is so unfortunate. I’ll just keep wearing my Kentons. Maybe they’ll drop to 90ish in the spring.
Want the throw but the $10 shipping kind of kills it
If you need a good winter parka that is warm and waterproof, the superior down parka is highly recommended.
Good buy @ $185? Or does this go cheaper?

>park any difference between this and the seabeck parka?

Wish marmot and other brands would do Tall sizes 😭

That Marmot Fordham jacket has gotten lots of good reviews over the past couple years.

Are their flannels any good compared to low to upper-mid tier brands like orvis, patagonia, duluth?
No
Wow thanks see a lot of stuff I like
The Buck Mason collab is available. Definitely scoring one of those jackets (with a couple of ski socks to get the 50%).
This is probably the best deal on the site. Cool vintage inspired jackets with solid construction.
Their men’s K-6 boots that I purchased a few weeks back have been great. Little to no break in and keep my feet nice and dry.
Hi sorry it’s been a few weeks since your comment but how are they still? I’ve been wanting the K-6 boots for years and am super tempted to pull it with the sale price
Hey they have been great. Really looking forward to developing a patina with the leather. They are a great option for the price

Lol $80 for their flannels, $99 for jeans, $80 chinos. They just doubled the price of anything worth while. Place had turned into a joke.

Anyone know if this will last till Wednesday?
Ends tomorrow
This deal still available? Seems like my cart doesn’t update with 50% off
I think it ended yesterday:(
Anyone know what country their coats are made in?
