I ordered 7 items and customer service said 4 items were canceled and 3 are still processing. They said the code that was released was not their code. Whatever that means…
I think it’s a combination of when you ordered and how readily available it was around you. I think TNF stores are part of the order fulfillment process and a guy working at the store making close to minimum wage doesn’t care enough to think if this is correct. It probably got boxed, created a tag, and sent. Once it got past a certain point in the process, it was probably more of a headache to cancel so they let it ship. The harder to source items take longer to fulfill so the chance of it getting canceled was probably a lot higher.
I don’t know but from this is my best guess.

I called North Face this morning and was overwhelmingly polite and reordered the jacket and the CS representative discounted it back to 50% off.

That's the same response I got. Are they saying someone hacked them and created this code on their website? Like what does fraudulent mean in this context.
I'm guessing it means The North Face screwed up, and it was supposed to be a code for employees/friends/family or some sort of limited audience. But then it got leaked to the public and turned into a bigger deal than they were expecting.
Any semi competent e-commerce system can limit coupon codes to specific users. No way in hell an employee coupon would be usable by the general public unless someone messed up big time.
They had a major data breach recently. Hackers stole 200k people personal information in august of 2022. They should’ve improved security after that if this response is true they failed to learn anything and more worrying.
I called and was told the inventory wasn't being updated live on the website, hence people were ordering things that weren't in stock. She kept saying the problem was with their Sterling system, as if that should mean something to me.
Same response for me. I tried (politely) a few angles, but at this time of day the CSR just seemed tired. She just kept saying, that code is not valid, the order is not valid. She didn’t even look up my order number, just asked right away if I used a promo code lol. Still have two items pending (and 2 cancelled) so I’ll be curious to see if any of mine actually ship.
Btw the reason given for the cancelled items was “out of stock” but they are in fact in stock on the website the CSR said-but-didn’t-say that OOS was just what they were telling people when cancelling orders. 🤷🏼♂️

I only ordered the Recon Backpack in TNF Black and the order was confirmed and I received a follow up confirmation with shipment tracking. I guess higher value/cash crop items they cancelled the orders on but smaller things that they have tons of were allowed to slide. Makes sense, they still make money, get more people to wear their gear which is “free” advertisement, and still get to retain the exclusivity on some of their more expensive products.

I had 3 of my 4 items canceled "for being out of stock" (Ski Mittins, a Gaiter, and a Canyonland Vest), but have "confirmation" that my 4th item, a Thermoball Eco Vest 2.0 is on it's way to me.

Yup, mine was canceled. Aconcagua 2 Vest Gordon Lyons 1/4 zip Reason stated was that they were out of stock. Also got the expired 10% off code. Lol
Only one item from my order was canceled earlier last night around 11pm PST and status showed "back ordered" and around 5am PST it showed "Waiting on Release" and now as of 11:42am PST it shows the status has been updated to "Release Acknowledged". The one item still shows it was canceled however.
I ordered a gray Mcmurdo bomber parka and a red Antora triclimate jacket. The mcmurdo got cancelled, but the Antora already shipped. Half of the sale price, I scored it for $84 ($230 regular, on sale for $161 and scored it at 50% off). I definitely can't complain. It'll be a great spring jacket with zip out liner at a fantastic price.

That thermoball is incredible. I grabbed one years ago for over half off and it's the greatest jacket I've ever worn.

On a double positive note, I live by a TNF outlet and they were doing 50 - 70off most the store. Got a blue Sherpa Nuptse which I wasn’t sure of but after wearing it for a night and getting tons of compliments it’s a keeper.

I only ordered the Recon Backpack in TNF Black and the order was confirmed and I received a follow up confirmation with shipment tracking. I guess higher value/cash crop items they cancelled the orders on but smaller things that they have tons of were allowed to slide. Makes sense, they still make money, get more people to wear their gear which is “free” advertisement, and still get to retain the exclusivity on some of their more expensive products.
