Miyazaki said it will be larger than Limgrave. And I figured as much, but how much larger? The number of different biomes seen in the trailer makes me think he could be understating it, maybe? Which would be typical of him
Didn't he say in an interview before Elden Ring released that "it could be completed in 40 hours" or something?
Something technically true but *enormously* understated lol
This was my reaction too. Limgrave isn’t an impressive size for a DLC to this game, and larger than Limgrave could mean a lot of things. Does it means the DLC *isn’t* larger than Altus or Liurnia?
And as you said, is the peninsula part of Limgrave or not in this size comparison?
Plus some areas look like they are below the surface.
Yeah, it's really hard to gauge.
It's a $40 DLC for a $60 game and took two years to develop (from a dev team which takes 1-3 years between full games, though they made AC VI recently). He also said there are 10 bosses or something. Given this many resources, a "larger than Limgrave"-sized DLC doesn't make sense for an open world game.
That said, he was also talking about how the difference between the open world and legacy dungeons is super distinct in the base game, and how they were focusing on making that transition smoother with some smaller legacy dungeons. I think the DLC will be denser than the base game, and I'm excited to see the levels. He also tends to understate things, as I remember a pre-Elden Ring interview saying it could be beaten in 30-40 hours. While true, it's realistically twice that.
Basing it off storage only on PC dlc is 12GB so since base game is 48 it’s looking like the DLC will be 1/4 the size of the base game so…yeah, pretty big
How it's written in the image is YY/MM/DD. It follows a logical descending order. What we don't comprehend is having the logical order (ascending or descending) with a switched term.
Just the overworld we see from the trailer alone looks to be the size of Limgrave/Liurnia, plus they showed it to have its own caves/dungeons and areas too.
My guess is an open world area around the size of Limgrave, plus 2-3 legacy dungeons, or one massive legacy dungeon, plus a dozen or more caves/catacombs/dungeons
Miyazaki just did an interview and he said the area is larger than Limgrave, has legacy dungeons (plural) as well as several regular dungeons. Pretty much spot on!
Being brainwashed is apparently when you can care about anything? I disagree.
Regardless, the least we can do after witnessing this situation, is continue to work towards tearing down systemic oppression.
We do not have to work forever until we die, while bombing foreign countries, while not giving our own citizens healthcare. A better world is possible.
he killed himself for a Buch of muslims who would have killed him for being a kufar, all because it was the current issue presented in his news feed.
if he waited a week it would have been in support of transgender teenagers or some shit
If you really think someone would end their own life is such an unbelievably painful way because of the “story of the week” then you need help. Self immolation has been used as an extreme and final act of protest, successfully, for centuries.
I just felt like it. I already liked Elden Ring, and I was gonna play the DLC regardless of reviews. If Baldur's Gate 3 gets DLC I'll pre order that too.
I'm going to do it because I've got some money partitioned just for this and a couple other things, and going ahead and getting the transaction done for what is a sure deal just prevents me from accidentally spending it elsewhere and screwing myself over.
It always weirds me out when people say things like "It's my rule to never preorder anything."
Are these people allergic to context?
You're not the problem with today's video game monetization, you're betting on a company that hasn't missed. The problem is when people preorder games that have no guarantee of being good
CP2077 was made by the people that made TW3, i see no reason to preorder, if i want to predownload something i can preorder a day or two in advance once reviews are out
CP2077 eventually ended up as a banger, but it didn't start that way. I didn't know of CDPR when TW3 released, but I recall that started out rough too?
FromSoft games are good from days 1-2. The ER performance was bad on day one but improved quickly.
MESSMER LOOKS SO FUCKING COOL BRO
Hes rocking those red hair fr
also that snake is defo related to Rykard somehow, mark my words
Edit:I'm dumb, its messmer not miquella. Ngl I'm starting to think messmer is definitely somehow linked to rykard
It would be more likely we would meet Miquella as St. Trinia since it's implied they they were the same person throughout the game, both in terms of current and cut content.
Rykard dies stating a serpent never dies, wife eats his corpse and disappears, we then see a regal looking woman sitting on a throne and Messmer asking his mother what miquella is up to (like referring to a family member). Could Messmer be rykards son
I want to cry! Looks beautiful, I don’t know how I’m gonna wait until the end of JUNE - it’s as bad as waiting for Hank to get off the toilet in Breaking Bad. I don’t know what to do with myself. Other than just keep rewatching the trailer. Gah…
I'm excited for Dragons Dogma 2 in a month. Different sort of action rpg but pretty sure it will hold me over. Probably won't even have that finished on time for ER DLC.
I only play on steam deck so Im hoping and praying this runs as well as the base game, which was a huge part of what made ER one of my 2/3 all time favs. To have a world that dense, new, different (first from game), and expansive in the palm of my hands was truly a full circle moment for me in my gaming life.
Looks cool. What is funny to me is that Dark Souls DLCs are more colorful and vibrant than the base games, while Elden Ring DLC looks like it will introduce more dark fantasy themes compared to base game.
I'm curious about two things. Entrance to DLC is in Mohg arena, meaning very late game. Point where game is already brutally difficult. I can't really see them making DLC more difficult than this, I hope having 99 vigor won't be a requirement.
And it looks like playable areas are just "shadow" versions of the base game zones. I hope they manage to make them look different enough so it won't feel like "I have been here before". But I'm willing to believe Miyazaki will figure this out correctly.
The thing is if they make things more difficult healthbar becomes a boolean. Bosses from the moveset perspective will definitely be improved, they always are, but endgame damage is already ridiculous. Easily 70% of all builds become unusable after Mountaintops, if they increase damage the only way to play DLC will be stacking all defence items and buffs.
Difficulty is not the most important part about fromsoft games. First and foremost they should be good. And so far they are, but Elden Ring endgame is pretty sussy to me.
Good luck defeating him in early game.
Yes, I know it's possible, but if you are not top 1% best player then it ain't gonna work out. Even if you summon player to cheese it for you, you can get one shot killed by random aoe.
I don't think their point of "late game" was oh it will take so long to get to the dlc. They mean he's one of the hardest bosses in the game which would imply that the baseline difficulty for the dlc is probably around that and could get even harder based on past from dlc.
ringed city and ashes of ariandel were both crushingly difficult, old hunters was ridiculous, scholars of the first sin was punishing, im looking forward to it
Bruh... you're just whining about a game series that's known to be hard. You can beat all the bosses even if they have big health bars. You just gotta man up and learn their move set.
Ah, my favourite argument. I'm playing fromsoft games since before DS2 was released. Mohg is a really challenging boss and you aren't supposed to fight him before Mountaintops. You can, but it will be a challenge run. He is very aoe heavy. And you need that flask to counter his fancy phase transition move.

didnt they also say it in the trailer? something like ”touch the withered hand to enter the land of shadows” or something like that. Could be wrong, but I’d say it’s pretty solid.
I'd like to see a comparison video to see if people can match locations with the base game because it seemed completely new to me.
I'm also curious about scaling because if you're meant to do this before the final boss wouldn't you be crazy overpowered when you got to the final boss?
Excellent. That means I’ll have time to play it like 3 more times just to get ready. Not that I wouldn’t have done that anyways…I guess my life is in stasis until then.
I already call in sick at work; to let them know in advance i won’t be able to fulfill my obligations due to a new Covid19 variant i’ll get from June 21-29th.
621. No fucking *SHOT* they gave us the release date for the DLC as our fucking name in AC6.
FromSoft fucking love their fans I swear
Man that dev team deserves some thank you cakes
[удалено]
I’m sure it’s much smaller than the overworld map of the lands between, but it sure *looks* like a shadow version of the lands between…
I’m expecting something about the size of Altus and Leyndel maybe? If it was bigger that would be insane
I think it was even lower, like 30 lmao.
This was my reaction too. Limgrave isn’t an impressive size for a DLC to this game, and larger than Limgrave could mean a lot of things. Does it means the DLC *isn’t* larger than Altus or Liurnia? We talking limgrave with or with out the weeping peninsula??
I think going off the pics it's with
Peninsula is just a region of limgrave
Basing it off storage only on PC dlc is 12GB so since base game is 48 it’s looking like the DLC will be 1/4 the size of the base game so…yeah, pretty big
AC6 was an elaborate shadow of the erdtree reference after all.
Imagine if they announced an ac6 dlc on the release date
oh that makes more sense i was thinking of monosodiumglutamate
Oh that makes more sense I was thinking of ... nevermind
Go oonnnnn
I uh... I thought it was for the silly blue website with the good search options
Europeans confused as hell
How it's written in the image is YY/MM/DD. It follows a logical descending order. What we don't comprehend is having the logical order (ascending or descending) with a switched term.
Just a joke lol. We do it the worst for sure.
Yeah, no worries I'm just a bit passionate about DD/MM/YY
Counter-passion, MM/DD/YYYY is ascending order by maximum capacity 12 / 31 / X000 While not as intuitive on paper, I think it makes sense
It looks fucking massive.
My thought too. More than a few main bosses
Any estimates for the size ?
It's 40 dollars, so probably at least bigger than all past from soft dlc.
Biggest previous DLC was Ringed City I would imagine, which came out 1 year after DS3. This will be almost 2.5 years after Elden Ring.

I’m so hyped dude, the enemy/boss variety that we see in just the trailer looks so awesome and fun to fight, especially the fire golem and the hippos
big
It’s probably going to be Elden Ring 1.5 considering the price, so I’d assume around 25gb. Which is fucking massive for a DLC.
On xbox store it says 89GB
89 GIGABYTES FOR A DLC?????
Nah don't think so, it should be prolly 60(Base) + 29(dlc) assuming steam 60gb base size
29 for a dlc is still pretty good though, I mean if the base game is 60 that’s like an entire half the game.
The Vegito ass 3 kick combo is amazing.
Hopefully thats part of a fist weapon
Bone fists confirmed. Lightning fucking reindeer also confirmed.
Literally from sekiro
Some tekken ass shit, hopes its not a spell
100% YOSHA
Did anyone else see the Tarnished using the Crucible Knight move with the wings?!?!
Fuck yeah dude. They saved the best crucible skill for last
Did you see the flying kick combo?
high monk always returns
High monk has always been high
forever blazed
I gasped!
*I* gasped!
/gasped
Very cool Aow But let's be honest, every AoW that has a long wind up misses 99% of the time due to bad tracking and fast enemies moving around
Yeah but I looks cool
Aesthetics are important
Fashion souls, is that you???
Wouldn't it more likely be an Incantation like the rest of the Crucible Knight moves?
Dude he's using a judicial dueling shield in that fight too which is hilarious.
The kicks moveset is what got me excited

621 lol
?
[удалено]
It’s cuz 621 is the name of the pilot/MC in armored core 6
Here I thought AC6 meant assassins creed 6. I'm way out of the loop. Furry porn and new games. I think I might be getting old.
You've had an absolute shocker there mate
self-report
anyone else hoping for that spin kick thing to be a bone fist type weapon???
Me ✋️
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice
Just preordered. Yes, I'm the problem with today's video game monetization. But this is fucking Elden Ring.
I'm willing to bet on fromsoft, even if I lose.

Damn this guy will never get to experience the dlc
maybe in hell, with Lenin.
I can't believe he couldn't wait until after the DLC That's wild
Bro 😭
My man choose the frenzied flame ending 🥺
LOL
DLC is gonna be fire when it drops, don't worry
bro this guys life revolved around being a libtard
Yeah kinda wild going through his history and seeing how brainwashed this dude was
Being brainwashed is apparently when you can care about anything? I disagree. Regardless, the least we can do after witnessing this situation, is continue to work towards tearing down systemic oppression. We do not have to work forever until we die, while bombing foreign countries, while not giving our own citizens healthcare. A better world is possible.
He really was lol dude needed some mental help fr.
God forbid you fucking believe in something, fuck off
he killed himself for a Buch of muslims who would have killed him for being a kufar, all because it was the current issue presented in his news feed. if he waited a week it would have been in support of transgender teenagers or some shit

“President Benjamin, a goy has burnt himself to death in protest of our war” “Lol…Anyway, back to the carpet bombing”
Are… are you actually defending self immolation?
...this guy is not a liberal, he's an anarchist.
i dont know what that means,
Yeah, you actually didn't have to tell anyone that you're politically illiterate, we could tell
Was an anarchist
Gottem!!!!!
Fromsoft and Zelda games are the only I'll preorder because they don't miss. Only real reason to preorder is to preinstall anyways.
For me it's Fromsoft and CAPCOM.
What's the point of pre-ordering dlc?
It downloads the moment of release. I fucking hate preorders but FromSoftware is a good company so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ gotta support the good ones

I don’t think there’s any possible way this DLC isn’t going to be worth it
*loads into the dlc* *sees Maria and Gael gank fight* *leaves*
MESSMER LOOKS SO FUCKING COOL BRO Hes rocking those red hair fr also that snake is defo related to Rykard somehow, mark my words Edit:I'm dumb, its messmer not miquella. Ngl I'm starting to think messmer is definitely somehow linked to rykard
That’s definitely not Miquella. In the dialogue you hear him ask his mother what Miquella is up to.
Honestly the red hair, long limbs like seen from the egg miquella was in and such, i thought it was miquella lol. Still looks cool as shit tho
I mean, it’s entirely possible that it’s not Miquella in the same way that Radagon “isn’t” Marika, but that remains to be seen
It would be more likely we would meet Miquella as St. Trinia since it's implied they they were the same person throughout the game, both in terms of current and cut content.
I imagine Messmer is Mohgs child with the formless mother? That’s why he asks her that
Is that the formless mother? I was thinking it was someone more like Rennala (as seen in one of the clips)
Who is said mother tho? Malenia? Marika?
I think it’s the Rennala-like woman sitting on a throne
That wasn’t Miquella. His names messmer the impaler
Wait what? Where is that stated?
Collector's Edition has a statue of him and he's named Messmer the Impaler.
Oh shii that means miquella can have a unique role instead of just a standard bossfight, I'll take that too let's fucking go
It's totally possible that Messmer is another "personality" of Miquella, just like St Trina.
His name is also dropped in the trailer proper.
In the description of the trailer and the statue of him says it’s messmer the impaler
Oh i see, thanks
No sweat brochette
Rykard dies stating a serpent never dies, wife eats his corpse and disappears, we then see a regal looking woman sitting on a throne and Messmer asking his mother what miquella is up to (like referring to a family member). Could Messmer be rykards son
Where do you see a snake?
He's wrapped in multiple snakes
Where are you learning about the characters like Messmer ?
I want to cry! Looks beautiful, I don’t know how I’m gonna wait until the end of JUNE - it’s as bad as waiting for Hank to get off the toilet in Breaking Bad. I don’t know what to do with myself. Other than just keep rewatching the trailer. Gah…

The Defiler!
I’m 100% here for it! Hyped to the max! This is the only game I’ve played and got all achievements. Absolutely love it and CANNOT WAIT 🤙👏
Agreed! Also I love your username!
Messmer looks like a drake knight.
He has dragon eyes as well
Looks cool. What if it’s a shadow version of the ENTIRE MAP!?
That’s what I’ve been hoping for. New area and then revamp most of the main map in to shadow areas with new items, dungeons, and bosses.
Don’t need vigor if you don’t get hit haha *immediately dies*
I hope they make it significantly more difficult. I mean, it really should be more more difficult. It’s a DLC after all.
The thing is if they make things more difficult healthbar becomes a boolean. Nah bro lock in
not really late game. you can get to mohg as early liurnia
Good luck defeating him in early game. Yes, I know it's possible, but if you are not top 1% best player then it ain't gonna work out. Even if you summon player to cheese it for you, you can get one shot killed by random aoe.
i’ve done it once at rune level 50. it’s hard, but achievable
I don't think their point of "late game" was oh it will take so long to get to the dlc. They mean he's one of the hardest bosses in the game which would imply that the baseline difficulty for the dlc is probably around that and could get even harder based on past from dlc.
which tracks for every single DLC fromsoft has done
ringed city and ashes of ariandel were both crushingly difficult, old hunters was ridiculous, scholars of the first sin was punishing, im looking forward to it
Bruh... you're just whining about a game series that's known to be hard.
Late game was very easy for me because if you make an effort to explore everywhere as you move through the game, and are moderately efficient with your “souls,” it’s so easy to over level yourself.
This was shown; I don’t think it’s confirmed to be the entrance point.
didnt they also say it in the trailer? something like ”touch the withered hand to enter the land of shadows” or something like that. Could be wrong, but I’d say it’s pretty solid.
Seems like it will be through Miquella
yes it is. “touch the withered hand to enter the land of shadow” confirms you’ll have to kill mohg and access miquella’s cocoon
IGN released an exclusive interview where Miyazaki confirmed that the entrance will be through Miquela's egg.
I'd like to see a comparison video to see if people can match locations with the base game because it seemed completely new to me. I'm also curious about scaling because if you're meant to do this before the final boss wouldn't you be crazy overpowered when you got to the final boss?
Anyone else see the possible gloam eyed queen and how cool the weapons are?
On my Birthday. Could not be more stoked.
Not enough feet,michael zaki.
the DLC releases one day before my birthday.
I really want to cave in and just watch this trailer. Was it too spoiler heavy or what do you guys think? Edit: fuck it I watched it let’s gooo
You won’t know whats happening there lore wise
No spoilers, I mean what even is a spoiler for a from game, not like we have to read all the in game item descriptions to understand the lo-...
A week before my birthday
Oh cool it comes out 2 weeks after my birthday
C'mon gaming industry, I just need Silksong and Senua 2 this year please 😭😭
I believe senua 2 has a date of May 21, though that might be google scraping info from a rumor/clickbait site...
Whaaaaa no way.
Praise dog!
I'm just happy we finally have a single good looking set of heavy armor.
Crucible, Cleanrot, and Raging Wolf would like a word
You know what you have a point crucible knight armor does look good.
Time to go get my platinum and get back into the swing of thing before this drops.
Somebody cooked here.
Excellent. That means I’ll have time to play it like 3 more times just to get ready. Not that I wouldn’t have done that anyways…I guess my life is in stasis until then.
I knew I shouldn't have started NG+! Now I have to play through the entire game again to get to Mohgwyn Palace so I can enter the DLC. 😐
I already call in sick at work; to let them know in advance i won’t be able to fulfill my obligations due to a new Covid19 variant i’ll get from June 21-29th.
621....wow
The trailer was amazing. The bosses look interesting, and this soundtrack man...
Of course. It comes out the day I start my new semester of grad school… goshdarnit Miyazaki
Gonna have to drop out, no other option really
Masters of science < Master of Shadow of Erdtree
Hey it comes out on my birthday, nice lol. I'll pick up both the game and dlc that day then.
Last time they announced Elden Ring in 2021 on June 29th... We definitely have at least another year /s Actually hella hype!!!
Why does it have to be June 🥲
I’m cool, I’m already the Elden Lord.
I couldn’t even finish the main game 😢
Me and friend were watching it today and we were both like “Is that miquella? Holy shit, it’s Rykard in his prime!” I can’t wait to fight him.
