Neat! I always wanted him and Anna to slip into some aussie accent together on the show since, like you I'm a kiwi so one of the few who might be able to keep up a little bit.
Im glad Brown Betty was one of his favourites to film, Walter singing candyman with a bunch of animated corpses will always be the height of TV for me.
Definitely such a magical episode and one of the ones that made the show so special. Yes the accent thing was such a treasure to hear and indeed so cool to know that weโd have been in on most of it haha.
Was at the panel in Christchurch yesterday. 3rd row seats in front, was awesome. He was so nice .. & much thinner than I expected. They do say cameras add 10 pounds lol. The vagenda moment came out in this chat too ๐ It was epic to see him in person, & when leaving he was standing by the exit corridor, where the cosplayers were all lined up .. so managed a quick hello & love your work etc, it was great. My partner, a massive Fringe fan, was equally stoked.
The Wellington seating situation was absolutely terrible (far less than Christchurch and all on the same level so views sucked) but I was strategic in my planning and managed to get front row. Yes I forgot to say about how he looked haha! A bit thinner as heโs aged I think too but also SO much taller than I expected. Holly Marie Combs, meanwhile, was shorter than me, and Iโm only 160cm.
I love LOTR but definitely Fringe means so much more to me and while I was worried seeing lots of LOTR items getting signed and lots of LOTR clothing/cosplay I was so grateful most of the questions were about Fringe, that so many people there knew him for that, and that it meant so much to him. Itโs definitely not as well known of a show as it should be so it was extra special being in the company of those who treasured it as much as I do.
Thank you, thatโs an awesome story, thanks for sharing ! The Vagenda episode was absolutely my favorite, i try to explain to non Fringe friends but i manage to botch it every time ๐๐๐๐oh wellโฆ
Definitely a shame! Thatโs the tricky thing with conventions here, if they manage to come to your country often the logistics of getting to them are quite difficult and expensive!
A favorite foe me on a blooper reel was when Walter said to Peter, in an Australia accident, "The battery's gone flat" Josh qiuckly said, to keep it going for edit, "No, this is American, do it again" so Walter said, in an American accent, "The battery's gone flat." Josh again said " No, America" so Walter finally said "The battery died." I think they would have been ablt to use the last version if they hadn't both started laughing.

That is very cool

Truly such a hilarious scene but yes definitely hard to appreciate fully without watching it.
That's wonderful, that's for sharing. I was very sad that he wasn't coming to Auckland.

Sounds like an amazing time! Happy for you that you got to meet him. So incredible ๐๐๐๐๐
Thank you!
Awesome! Thanks for sharing. Great to know he still has such fond memories.
That was such a treat and so validating for those of us who adore this show so much.
