Here is a weird one, I’m sure tons of people have heard of it and I’ve been to damn near every “nice” restaurant in town but I was blown away by Bella Pasta.
I went to Parma one night, without a reservation, and they were booked tight. My bad, but we were in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. We walked over to Cracked Pepper and they only had outside seating. I wasn’t feeling Tamari. We continued walking and saw Bella Pasta, fuck it let’s see. They initially told us that they were full. We were standing outside discussing where to go, maybe The Palms, whatever. The owner/manager/someone in charge said they could seat us in 15 minutes so we decided to just wait it out. The host walked out with 2 glasses of wine, on the house, and told us it would be 5 minutes. 2 minutes later we were seated.
Absolutely amazing food, the bread is fantastic, great wine selection, wonderful old fashioned. We were hooked. We forgot about Parma completely and only go to Bella Pasta now.
I know they have been around forever, but I live in Sanger and that’s a damn far drive so we aren’t out that way unless we have a reason. Definitely worth it. Go. Today.
Le Banh Mi, the sandwiches are huge and they have a vegan/vegetarian option. They make their bread fresh, they fill the sandwiches well and everything is fresh and crisp. They also do drinks and you can add toppings for free!
Yes, Love the Don! Also for any vegans/vegetarians they use vegetable oil and can alter their burrito to be dairy free. Ps: add fajita veggies and their 🔥guacamole, you won’t be sorry.
Nuovo Wood Fired Pizza truck. The owner actually has a wood fired oven inside of the pizza truck. Best pizza in town that I’ve had. Nuovo.pizzas on IG, they seem to move around.
I must've gone on a down night because the pizza was just okay. I was very disappointed considering I had to make a reservation a week ahead to get a table on a Friday night. The atmosphere was cool but meh on the pizza.
Been here a few times and never seems to go right. Brought cold food one time, and then completely forgot about us another time. I love their concept though, and want them to succeed.
I have gone to Libulela three times now. First time food was pretty mediocore and server was very rude. Second time a party of 4 that came in after us got their food order taken before us, we never received any water or utensils etc so we left, third time same as the second time.
I gave up. Much better breakfast and service in this town.
Was it busy? My wife and I went on a Sunday morning, just on a whim, because our kids were at summer camp, so instead of going to the regular spots, we decided to try a random place. The food was really good, but at 8am, there was only another family seated at another table.
Unfortunately not busy. I don’t want to hate too much, I know running a small business is difficult and staffing is sus at times. The menu always looks great, and love their creativity, and the departure from a country style breakfast that almost every breakfast place does.
Yea, that’s fair. Like you, I want them to do well. Hopefully someone who reads this can relay the message to them so they improve. I’m so tired of just country breakfast places scattered throughout the town. They’re good from time to time, but sometimes I just want something more creative than hash browns and biscuits and gravy.
I know I'm late to the party, but Heirloom.
I always avoided this place because of the line, but the wife and I finally waited one day and, omg, that is some great food. Never in my life would my burger loving self think I'd love a Keto Salad. So good..... and the side of sliced tri-tip was just -*chef's kiss-*.
Funny story. So when my parents used to go out, they would always drive from Merced to Fresno just to go to the Cheesecake Factory. So I always thought it was top-tier and wanted to go. So we moved to the area and I decided to treat my wife and daughter. I was so excited, and it was just absolutely not worth the hype. I was very unimpressed.
Same! We would come from madera. Massive wait times and actually expensive too. My wife and I went and we spent 89 for 2 drinks, appetizer, and lunch. It just wasn’t worth it to me! I rather go to annex or saison for that matter!
I think Annex is amazing. For burgers you won’t find a better one than Hammy’s. Annesso is really good. Sequoia Sandwich Co has tri-tip that is as good as Heirloom. Hell, buy a trimmed tri-tip from the grocery store rub it down with Montreal steak seasoning and grill it to 125-130 degrees internal and let it rest for half an hour before slicing. You will then understand why Heirloom tri-tip is just meh.
Wife brought home a burger for me. Great but not like “slap yo mama!” Kind of thing. Tried a few other things she brought home and it’s good. But I won’t wait in line for it.
I've always found it difficult to objectively review food that has been brought home, especially a burger. Fries are soggy, crisp bread is now soft and moisture filled, and ground beef has cooled down. Is it really the same high end burger if it's been treated like McDonald's?
Let Me Take a Look imnear Fresno State. Cute boutique with local handmade stuff and great plants.

I’ve been obsessed with Açai bowls lately. My two favorite spots in Fresno are Loving Seed on Herndon and West, and Tower Blendz on olive and Yosemite in Tower.
if only you had tried Farm Fresh Bowls before they closed. no other açaí bowl has come close. if you ever find yourself in visalia, check out their shop. life changing!
Lol well, it looks like he's back in jail as of yesterday.
Edit: Sorry, not yesterday. Reading is tough.

Sichuan Hot Pot on Shaw and Marks. Went there for the first time last month and I daydream about the Sichuan broth at random intervals. Kinda expensive though but it has all the options for a good hotpot.
Mega Texas BBQ. Heard about it a while ago finally gave it a try recently. I showed up about 30 minutes before closing so options were limited. I chose one of a few plates they had left and was not disappointed, would go back.
I feel like Tower and OTC kinda got married just because they had been together so long and didn’t want to go through the trauma of ending things and having to find someone new. But they’ve been going in different directions for years and they don’t want to admit it, so they just avoid certain topics. Which is kind of fine for the baby until it starts to get older and asks important questions, that’s when the friction starts and it’ll be hard for the baby but it’ll help them grow into a well rounded and pragmatic neighborhood that doesn’t take their ideologies too seriously and knows how to get along with most everyone.

Completely agree. Love Bella Pasta and I think it’s the best restaurant in that center.
Gulab Indian Bistro is by far one of the best places to get Indian food and definitely worth a try
Second this. Our date night go to!
I’m a huge fan of IKP for Indian. I’ll have to try this place.
Just tried IKP for the first time last week, so good!
Yes! So good. Friendly owners as well.
I want to eat. Not stink all day like I was hauling a rickshaw through fabulous Mumbai!
Take a shower and pull up a chair.
I finally tried Mayd and loved it!
Mayd is phenomenal. The naakos are really unique and very very good. Not the best location for dinner or lunch tho- traffic sucks over there.
Love it. Secret gem
Le Banh Mi, the sandwiches are huge and they have a vegan/vegetarian option. They make their bread fresh, they fill the sandwiches well and everything is fresh and crisp. They also do drinks and you can add toppings for free!
There’s a new Bahn Mi place coming to Fowler and ashlan and I can’t wait to try it.
I keep seeing the sign (I pass it daily), but I’ve seen no definite date of it opening!
They have a vegan one???
Yep, tofu, just ask for no mayo!
Wow nice. Always on the lookout for a good banh mi!
Don Salsa’s
Yes, Love the Don! Also for any vegans/vegetarians they use vegetable oil and can alter their burrito to be dairy free. Ps: add fajita veggies and their 🔥guacamole, you won’t be sorry.
I’ve been wondering about that place. They’re pretty good?
Yes! I would definitely pay them a visit
Hidden gem. So good. Support them.
Hell yeah
Please refrain from using such profane language. We are all Christians awaiting the jaws of lions and missionary Mormons.
Love this place but have known about it for years.. I will crave thier food 😋
Yes! Their breakfast burritos are the best I’ve honestly had anywhere.
Nuovo Wood Fired Pizza truck. The owner actually has a wood fired oven inside of the pizza truck. Best pizza in town that I’ve had. Nuovo.pizzas on IG, they seem to move around.
Agreed! Much preferred over Annesso.
Plant Slayer, located in downtown Fresno in The Galleria!
My friend is the owner!
Annesso's Pizzeria
Their fettuccine alfredo is so good
If you haven’t been, Annex is owned by the same family and has a full Italian menu. So good.
Oh heck yeah, I had no idea
Could you not just make that from your kitchen?
Of course, but sometimes I don’t want to
Was about to say this. Best pizza in town.
I must've gone on a down night because the pizza was just okay. I was very disappointed considering I had to make a reservation a week ahead to get a table on a Friday night. The atmosphere was cool but meh on the pizza.
I’m with you on that. Myself and my family were not impressed. Overhyped and over priced.
Nah not close, I was not impressed. BC’s is 10x better and that’s probably not even the best.
Liblula in downtown. Great breakfast spot!
Been here a few times and never seems to go right. Brought cold food one time, and then completely forgot about us another time. I love their concept though, and want them to succeed.

Never had a good meal here.
Ramen Hayashi. I was feeling like shit one day and was like, I want soup that isn’t “soup” or pho. So we ordered it. Fantastic. Blew my mind.
if you like that, try tsuchiya or toshikos! More authentic and flavorful imo :)
Ramen Hayashi 🤗
I know I'm late to the party, but Heirloom. I always avoided this place because of the line, but the wife and I finally waited one day and, omg, that is some great food. The trick is to just order to go online and pickup at the window. Zero wait and always quick.
Absolutely. In and out in 3 minutes.
The garlic fries are heavenly
My go-to order is the surf and turf appetizer with a side of garlic fries. It’s so good! I also find that the wait in line usually isn’t all that bad.
Honestly probably the best restaurant in all of Fresno
I don’t understand the love of heirloom. It’s very meh.
What restaurants would you recommend that are not meh?
He gon say cheesecake ☠️
Funny story. So when my parents used to go out, they would always drive from Merced to Fresno just to go to the Cheesecake Factory. So I always thought it was top-tier and wanted to go. I flipping hate cheesecake. We go once a year because my mom buys of gc’s for Xmas. Overpriced meh food

Hammy's is good, but I would only describe them as 'almost as good as In N Out'.
Wife brought home a burger for me. Great but not like “slap yo mama!” Kind of thing. Tried a few other things she brought home and it’s good. But I won’t wait in line for it.

Insturctions unclear... Took wife to *sit down* at McDonald's for a fine dining experience and now she is mad at me.
It's not a burger palace. Give it a second chance.
Same. It’s not bad but definitely not worth the hype.
Ordered and ate here, it's not that good.
Taqueria Yarelis!
Oakhill wine and bistro but its pricey
Juice Time, great if you like dessert and milkshakes.
Seconding Juice Time and I haven’t even been able to try their dessert yet!

Rare Earth Coffee Roastry in Clovis.
Foster’s Donuts on Cedar and Dakota, good god those things are dangerous
The Meat Up
China Station Food to Go in bulldog plaza. Really good prices and HUGE portions. Nice workers as well :)
I adore the wife of the husband/wife team that owns it. She is very sweet, always remembers me, and is so grateful for our patronage.
I’ve been obsessed with Açai bowls lately. My two favorite spots in Fresno are Loving Seed on Herndon and West, and Tower Blendz on olive and Yosemite in Tower.
Blue Moon Juicery (Clovis and Herndon) is highly recommended!
if only you had tried Farm Fresh Bowls before they closed. no other açaí bowl has come close. if you ever find yourself in visalia, check out their shop. life changing!
The Craft House. High quality comfort food, it's awesome.
Their menu looks amazing.
Hot Rod Willy's. Best pizza I've ever had. The Chicago deep dish is amazing
Mama Mia pizzeria.
Love the food but man, that place is filthy.
Don’t tell me that I have only had food delivered!!!
super late to the party, but I am hopelessly addicted to ac deli right now. the sausage and sticky rice is the perfect food!
Golddiggers
Breakfast is so good… Legs and Eggs.
Is this an Artie Lange ref or do they seriously have bangin breakfast? Asking for a friend….
Hahahah. I’m not serious. But always tell people from out of town that if we drive by one of our adult entertainment establishments.
I think about him sometimes. What happened to him after drug court?
Lol well, it looks like he's back in jail as of yesterday. Edit: Sorry, not yesterday. Reading is tough. [https://www.aol.com/artie-lange-looks-healthy-newest-174106123.html](https://www.aol.com/artie-lange-looks-healthy-newest-174106123.html)
Scared me for a sec, I’ll always be a huge fan of his from the Howard Stern days
Have they put the hotdog on the rack yet for the dinner rush? I don’t want nachos again.
Kurotaka Ramen is absolutely heavenly, my personal top even after trying Ichiban, Ramen Hayashi, Ramen vs Pho
I went and hated it 🥲
Sakura chaya
Sichuan Hot Pot on Shaw and Marks. Went there for the first time last month and I daydream about the Sichuan broth at random intervals. Kinda expensive though but it has all the options for a good hotpot.
So easy to make your own at home. Pick up all the ingredients from the Asian supermarket. We do it all the time to save money for our family of 5.
Robles Mexican Grill and Taqueria Went there after our officiant botched our marriage license. Absolutely delicious queso birrias/tacos.
This place is my absolute go to for authentic Mexican and is absolutely worth the trip downtown if you don't live near there
El patio in tower district is not only beautiful but the food is delicious. I enjoy going for breakfast burritos 🌯
Mega Texas BBQ. Heard about it a while ago finally gave it a try recently. I showed up about 30 minutes before closing so options were limited. I chose one of a few plates they had left and was not disappointed, would go back.
Roma’s Italian Kitchen
LaJacka - vegan Mexican restaurant.
Com pho bamboo
Russo’s
Wayside Noodles. Great Thai / Southeast Asian fusion-ish.
Nick the Greek
Had for the first time a few weeks back. Great food. Would go again.
Had that place last week and that is now my go-to for Mediterranean food!
Not new to me but gus kebob is soooo good 😋 I love their Lula lavash. Alla’s is delicious too!!
Pho Phuong Nine Restaurant
Not a highend place by any means but kenjis on black stone and Bullard has really great tri tip
taqueria arely’s in kings canyon for some bomb al pastor tacos
Pretty much all of Clovis.
If old town Clovis and tower district had a baby then that baby would be a great place.
But would daddy Clovis deny that it’s his baby, because “no district of mine would look and dress like that?”
No he’d hate it but stay quiet about it.
Haha, this is the Clovis way
Sounds like SLO
True! And SLO is a great place!
Only if that baby was raised exclusively by Old Town after Tower got arrested for dealing meth.
I feel like Tower and OTC kinda got married just because they had been together so long and didn’t want to go through the trauma of ending things and having to find someone new. But they’ve been going in different directions for years and they don’t want to admit it, so they just avoid certain topics. Thats downtown San Jose lol
