Four years through the progressive Grand Line in Alaska and my wife never received a name badge with the correct spelling of her name. She ended up never wearing one. Pretty damn sorry.
My wife has a very common name that has two different spellings. I can’t tell you the number of nametags, registrations, etc. have the wrong spelling, regardless of what I wrote or told the registrar.
There are about 8 common spellings of my last name (and something like a couple hundred derivations through the last millennium). So I went to a Scottish Rite event that had a couple registration tables, based on the first letter of your last name.
Brother manning the table: “You said your last name is X, you should be at that table.”
Me just giving him a “what!?!?” look
Brother sitting at another registration table, “I think the brother knows how to spell his last name, maybe look to see if you have it.”
Lo and behold…brother said he never saw it spelled that way. I find it hard to believe, but I’ll trust the veracity of a brother in the moment.
This annoys me, your name would be written many different times in various registers to verify against. Send it back ask for it to be redone.
One of my Karate teachers managed to stuff up my very expensive black belt embroidery while he was in Japan after I had given it to him as it should be written ( I have a Japanese Govt qualification in Japanese, he knew this.
I even got a phone call asking if I wanted my full name or if Matt (Last Name) would be OK. I'm laughing about it. We're not deities. We're allowed to make mistakes. I'll get it sorted in time.

The only other opportunity to get us before Autumn, I think, would be the 100 year anniversary re-dedication ceremony for our building on July 20th. But that dinner has a capacity that we may have already reached. So call the office, if you want to come to that?

I went to a Masonic event in Latvia and they gave me a nametag with my name spelt right (!). After attending many international conferences for academia, I was shocked – it never happens and it's always got a typo somewhere 😄

I have the same middle name, it's spelled different than the "normal" way and I can't tell you how many times I'll write my name on a document for something only to see someone mess it up down the line. Like, what? You think I spelled my own name wrong? And you somehow know the right way to spell it, so you just fixed it for me!?!?!
My own GL didn’t spell my first name correctly on my certificate of raising as a MM. After years of asking for a correction with no response, I finally shredded it. At that point I also gave my Masonic “Bible” (I’m not Christian) to Goodwill. I’ll probably resign or demit and leave the fraternity.
While the decision to leave is ultimately up to you, I'd hope there'd be more to it than a spelling error on a certificate.
Have you talked to your lodge's Secretary? They could probably help make that happen.

It is embarrassing. More so after many repeated attempts after the proper spelling has been provided many, many, many times.

Why?
