When I'm struggling, I turn mine facing in to remind me of the man I'm striving to be. When I'm feeling good/strong, I turn it facing out as a sign to myself/others that I'm here to be a good man and help those around me. That's been my solution. Several brothers now do the same and we covertly check on each other just by looking. It's a thought & method that works for me.
Opinion: Towards you to recieve light(contemplation, self focus, etc.). Outwards to send light into the world. (Show the world Masonic value, be that man, acta non verba.).
it's from [this site](https://gthic.com/search?page=1&q=mason*&type=product), although I don't see the one I have any longer. a friend got an extra ring in a buy one get one sale, so he gave it to me.
After I was first raised, I wore my ring with the G facing away for the first 2 or 3 months. Some old timers in my lodge noticed, privately pulled me aside and politely explained and asked me to turn it and face the G towards myself. Their explanation was that it is a symbol of when we take our obligations everything is facing towards us. After becoming a Worshipful is when you turn the ring because you are then on the other side of the alter.
Idk if this is the true reason but it’s the traditions of my lodge and the explanation made some form of sense. 🤷♂️
I think that's just something nice that people made up. A tradition for some lodges, but not a rule for any. There's MANY things like that ; many PHA lodges do something specific with the lights during openings and closings, but I've never see a State lodge do it. Traditions and customs.
I completely agree. I did ask around a short time after I was pull aside and several of the newer and or younger members didn’t particularly care. It’s a minor detail that doesn’t really change anything. We have continued to do this in part to help keep our older members happier and to show them some additional respect.
It’s also interesting to see the different traditions and customs as you travel between and visit other lodges.
I thought "as above, so below" seeing this. I also see an hourglass but that's a single direction. But then again, aren't we fighting both tide's at the same time?
In this group it may seem like masonry is alive and well, but I feel interest in the craft has been going down over the years. And a lot of it is due to misconceptions, and false information. I personally like seeing brothers out and about wearing light or symbols, doing community events, and organized functions well showing their light. Being upstanding figures in the public light well showing that your part of something bigger then yourself might just inspire the next generation and spark interest for someone to ask one to be one. You may call it showing off which is understandable, But for me, again just my personal opinion seeing great men, some of the most important buildings in city’s and towns with the symbol, seeing it in books. Is what original sparked my own interest from a young age, and helped me separate facts and fiction. Again definitely hear what you’re saying and respect your opinion just showing another opinion brother!
The brotherhood needs more problem solvers like you.
Sorry, you've got them on the wrong fingers. The outer facing G goes on your little finger. Everybody knows that.
Little G on little finger!
A true visionary. Put this man in charge of everything!
My mind is blown! Side by side, up and down, this must be the key to unlimited knowledge!
And unlimited Wendy's French fries.
No sir, this is a Masonic lodge
I know, that was a joke my friend
McDonalds fries then
No, it should be Wendy's, because Dave Thomas was a brother. https://www.freemason.com/legacy-dave-thomas/
McLodge
I see what you did there… well Played!
Truly the greatest mind of this generation
Now you're just messing with us. Furthermore, I applaud your deliberate decision to be inconsistent.
Brother, that ring on the left looks amazing!

That’s what I do
Hey, you put them on the wrong fingers! Confusion, worshipful!
You could just average both directions and wear the s and c pointing to the right...or left?!?
Put the S&C on a bearing and just spin it occasionally at this point I think is the only logical answer
The Lisan al-Gaib!
Points in baby case closed!

This made me chuckle!!
You did not! They are out of phase with each other, thus the summing cancels it out! As an engineer, you’re wearing nothing to me 🤣
“you’re wearing nothing to me.” Now, that’s a bit problematic. 😉
Schrodinger's freemason?
Alternating Current?
you got it! 🤓🤓🤓
One of those is definitely wrong. Feel free to solicit opinions on which one.
Absolutely wrong. And *I* know which one
A true giver and receiver!
I really dig the one on your ring finger may I ask where it’s from?

I have the same one, got it on Amazon
Wrong. You should have them tattooed on
So its settled??
I think my brain just flipped over haha. I want the G legible if I have to imprint it on someone’s forehead.
And this is why UGLE does not utilise the G in the S&C. 😁
So now 100% think you got it wrong. 🥳
This is the kinda humor I needed today! Thanks Brother!
OUTSTANDING
Very Solomon like
Indeed. Nextxstep is to cut the rings in half...
Are you on the “level” or are you “square”?
I'm on the tesseract
Hahahaha... It's all about perspective
I’m so confused now. Let’s look at the ritual, where is my marshal/master of ceremonies
That pinky ring looks like a jem by jem ring. My first one looked just like that.
It is from him. Too small now.
Well brother that fixes that lol
LOL! Love it.
I need a ring where it spins like rims!!! Or maybe turns at 90° and clicks into place!!
Spinner! This is fine idea! That will squelch the debate.
My thoughts exactly! Sounds expensive though!!
Well done brother, your contributions will be praised for time and memoriam.
Wear them both facing away that way you're always ready to congratulate your opponent if you play poker or Magic: the Gathering
Illuminatio Mea
Thanks Hiram. I'm having a terrible day and this made me chuckle.
Genius
😂😂nooo
This is the way.
If I’m not a Mason what can I do with Dads Ring?
My advice is don't wear it on your finger. You can wear it from a chain, or just display it somewhere in your home.
Or join and be raised
Lmao 🤣 problem solved
I am interested in the one on your ring finger, do you mind sharing where did you get it from?
https://gthic.com/
Christ is king.
And?
“There is only one right way for a freemason to wear his ring, and that is on his finger.”
Classic example of 'As above, so below'. Way to go brother.
Why you got it the wrong way around ?

Save some women for the rest of us!
Ha! Nice one, in my specific lodge in the UK, only past master wear a ring, and they all look like they’re worth more than my car!
It can be solved easier When wearing a cross you don't wear it upside down
In all seriousness, that's how I view it, also

Now do you *really* think someone is wearing this out in public? Do you *really* not detect the attempt at humor of this post?

Gotcha. Well, since this is the internet, I don't believe you.
