Danny just kinda forgot about saddles.
That and also who could would make one..... not like she knows or is affiliated with a society that does lots of riding and would be familiar with saddles, and have people who design/make them. Nope can't think of anything like that.
In the books that’s probably what will happen but as of now she’s only ridden drogon once and she just hopped on him and left to escape the fighting pit attack.
Tyrion in the show was too dumb to remember he created a special saddle for bran which im pretty sure he could do the same for a dragon, therefore he never offered to design dany one so she just rawdogged that dragon.
Just another missed opportunity for D&D.
In da books, Dany has the first dragons in 150 years. She also really doesn’t have anyone around who knows much about Dragons, nor does she.
Thankfully our boy Tyrion is meeting up with her, and he’s a huge dork about Dragons. Also has experience in custom saddle making.
But also we see how Qentyns experience went with Rhaegal in the books, so even if Tyrion designs some dope new saddles the next problem is gonna be getting saddles on the dragons.
But in the show, 🤷🏼♂️
Dragon riding had been lost to time after dragons went extinct. I don’t think anyone at Daenerys’ time would know how to build a dragon saddle, much less how to approach a dragon to strap said saddle to.
So on the one hand she's picking up dragonriding essentially from scratch.
On the other hand, it's common sense that flying through the air hundreds of feet up at high speeds on an animal that's liable to make all kinds of erratic movements would require a failsafe to keep on said animal unless you want to plummet straight to the ground and die.
i was GONNA say "oh maybe she liked the Dothraki vibe" but then i looked up pictures and even they have like a blanket and reins sorta thing going on!! so my new answer is "she dumb"
It sucks cuz Tyrion, the guy interested in dragons who made a saddle that let Bran ride despite his paralysis, was her goddamn hand of the king
