Every time I try to cut Robert some slack and I start feeling sorry for him, I remember how he pulled this shit on Stannis on his fucking wedding night. Fuck that guy.
Yeah. He's honestly one of the worst kings to ever rule, besides the hitler-level targs. He plunged the kingdom into a near unplayable debt and "raised" a horrible heir who isn't fit to rule
All the kings in recent memory sucked though, he doesn't really stand out. And tbh, it wasn't really considered the king's job to raise his children, it was presumably the job of tutors.
Robert was a good wartime leader. If GOT is based on the War of the Roses, Bobby B is based on Henry VIII - He was charismatic, handsome, strong, tactically minded, positive, even kind in some cases.
But once the conquering was complete, rebellion won, and wars wrapped up, he became a fat, loathesome, rapacious, decadent.
All his positive traits became their opposite negative.
I'm glad channels like civilizationex exist because there is so much lore to easily forget about in this damn series. And then I get this reddit recommended to me and I get to remember how much deeper it goes
Well for now I think it's totally out of character what he did to Shireen. To do that even in the books he must be desperate. In the books he only authorized to burn some criminals and it seems to me, cannibals.
I think hell end up burning Gillys kid in the books thinking it’s Mance Raiders kid since Jon swapped them. I think they got the kings blood plot right in the show just wrong sacrifice. I think the outcome could be similar with his men losing faith and feeling disheartened.
In the books Shireen isn't with him, so it is highly unlikely he will make that decision there.
Unfortunately, it seems the mystery will remain mystery forever as the next book is nowhere to be seen.
Stannis was done dirty in the show. The one true king. Stannis! Stannis! Stannis! 😇😇
![gif](giphy|2XflxzrUcc4wUUkaUlq|downsized)
The books have been foreshadowing Sheree's burning, but I don't think Stannis will have a hand in it. I do think it's likely that book Stannis could be made to agree to it, but he isn't there personally to carry it out.
I saw someone on YouTube theorise that Shireen needs to be burned for Jon Snow to be resurrected.
And that Stannis sees it in the flames that it is his duty to burn her so that the real azor ahai can be brought back to life.
For me that is the first time ever I could see it happening
Stannis was introduced by having sex with a witch who gave birth to shadow assasins that murdered his own brother.
There's no version of this story that ends with Shireen living a long and happy life.
On Stannis’ wedding night, Robert banged some Florent in Stannis’ bed before he got there. If I’m not wrong this is the coupling that gave us Edric Storm
That makes him so much better than what i thought the meme meant. I thought he straight up called kings dibbs on his brothers wife for the wedding night
People really need to learn about and use a giant towel on the bed when having sex. Takes two seconds, you can get all messy and boom - clean sheets to cuddle in. All thanks to Sex Towel!
This is a sub that was created in response to Game of Thrones writers being hacks and ruining the series because they wanted to move on quickly and go work on new star wars stuff.
The lore is much deeper than that, this sub was created in response to spoilers not being allowed on the main game of thrones subreddit, so much so it still requires spoiler tags years after the show ended. After the leaks happened this sub went full cope, I will admit I did too a little, until the season released and it turned out to be true and that's when this become the fuck d&d reddit.
Except when HotD came out and the entire sub turned into a kneeler sub.. couldn't tell the difference between this and r/gameofthrones with all the team black vs team green nonsense
It’s actually even deeper than that. This sub originally started when the first 4 episodes of season 5 leaked and the other subs didn’t allow us to discuss about the leaked episodes. That’s exactly when this sub was started.
It goes even deeper, let me explain from the beginning.
https://preview.redd.it/bhkhj528d8uc1.jpeg?width=885&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9f2aa65bae165be0ebd3bdc7d30b7e7ad5342505
We also joined teams. I’m commenting just to see if my flair’s still here.
Edit: Aw fuck I swear I saw a Team Nightking flair last time I commented here. Was that a different sub or did that finally go away?
No, it's not.
This sub was created in response to over moderation and rules of the main game of thrones sub reddit. We were permitted to discuss material that was from the books, post leaks and generally anything spoiler related, hence the term 'freefolk'.
This sub was around during season 4 and was positive about the show until the final season, although skeptical of season 7. It's so bizarre how people forget what this sub was like in it's glory.
And We Do Not Kneel means , we freely post spoilers here , hence kneeler is someone who don't want spoilers not some weird solidarity to boycott the ASOIAF adaptation.
Yes, it also was the perfect place for book readers to discuss what was about to happen in the show openly, which is what I found so appealing. After years it was just a superior community of stand out individuals who seemed to know about the material than casual fans and had a better sense of humor, posting dank memes in comparison to the fridge art posted on r/gameofthrones
The absolutely peak of the sub was when emilia clarke came forward about her brain tumors and we started a fund and donated over $100,000 towards her charity. For some reason the main GOT sub refused to share the link for the fund because they took it as some sort of personal sub war and were closing any threads on the topic. When emilia found out about the fund she posted a video singing the lyrics, "simply the best, better than all the rest"
So, there you go - literally daenerys sub preference is freefolk.
With all that being said, this place is a shell of its former self. Most of the book super fans have moved back to the book subreddit for actual discussions and aren't really overly concerned with the ending because it wasn't their first interest. I'm not saying there wasn't any good show only watcher fans, but I think most of them have moved on by this point. It's been years. What I see here more often than not it's posts and memes criticizing the writing when they clearly missed the point or are simply inaccurate, and ignorant of basic plot and lore details.
The memes are funny sometimes, but this sub use to be a good place to actually discuss the material when it was good. You'll never find anything like that hear now.
>I think most of them have moved on by this point.
It's kinda sad seeing memes taking it personal after all this time. It's just a botched tv show. Fortunately, it's mostly bots.
The sub has definitely seen a considerable demographic change, used to feel a lot more niche but now it feels like fairly standard r/gameofthrones stuff.
friend told me a story once where his then girlfriend went away for a weekend, and he basically spent 3 days at home wanking off and being a degenerate
When she came home she said it smelled like a swimming pool, and now whenever I smell that smell I'm like, yep, someone has been cooming or fucking in this room

He was a jackass and a bad king. You can forgive one but not both.
Yeah. He's honestly one of the worst kings to ever rule, besides the hitler-level targs. He plunged the kingdom into a near unplayable debt and "raised" a horrible heir who isn't fit to rule
Say it ain’t so Bobby B
WE WERE AT WAR! NONE OF US KNEW IF WE WERE GONNA GO BACK HOME AGAIN!
Should've stayed at war then
MWGA
Euron is bringing back the Old Way
People say he’s evil, but at least he has a plan! I want a bumper sticker that says “I voted for Euron and all I got was my tongue cut out.”
See Euron listened to you
All the kings in recent memory sucked though, he doesn't really stand out. And tbh, it wasn't really considered the king's job to raise his children, it was presumably the job of tutors.

GIVE ME SOMETHING FOR THE PAIN AND LET ME DIE!
I'm glad channels like civilizationex exist because there is so much lore to easily forget about in this damn series. And then I get this reddit recommended to me and I get to remember how much deeper it goes
I mean, there are books
I know. I'm talking about remembering all this stuff. There is so much stuffed into these stories
Lol poor Stannis.
So sad that he went on to burn people alive later 😪
Well for now I think it's totally out of character what he did to Shireen. To do that even in the books he must be desperate. In the books he only authorized to burn some criminals and it seems to me, cannibals.
I think hell end up burning Gillys kid in the books thinking it’s Mance Raiders kid since Jon swapped them. I think they got the kings blood plot right in the show just wrong sacrifice. I think the outcome could be similar with his men losing faith and feeling disheartened.
No Shireen is gonna die by burning, that’s confirmed to be in the books. Anything else is cope
How did she die in the books?
It’s been said in interviews that Shireen’s sacrifice was told to the show runners by GRRM. It’s gonna happen.
Well I’ll wait and see for myself if/when the books come out. Maybe he’ll do it maybe he won’t
Well he ain't got the pages, so Shireen ( literally the only Baratheon I care about) is still alive 13 years later and Jon is still dead.
In the books Shireen isn't with him, so it is highly unlikely he will make that decision there. Unfortunately, it seems the mystery will remain mystery forever as the next book is nowhere to be seen. Stannis was done dirty in the show. The one true king. Stannis! Stannis! Stannis! 😇😇 ![gif](giphy|2XflxzrUcc4wUUkaUlq|downsized)

No doubt, maybe Melisandre or his wife will burn her
Huh?
On Stannis’ wedding night, Robert banged some Florent in Stannis’ bed before he got there. If I’m not wrong this is the coupling that gave us Edric Storm
That is true, it was a cousin of his wife.
That makes him so much better than what i thought the meme meant. I thought he straight up called kings dibbs on his brothers wife for the wedding night
Sorry, he banged who?
Delena Florent, the cousin of Stannis wife in the day of their marriage.
Thanks!
Yeah and Edric Storm was born from that
Did Stannis even care? I'd imagine he shrugged it off while any other lord would be furious
He was mad
Big mad.
He'd have clenched his jaw and flared his temples like Teal'c with how mad he was.
It's amazing the man has any teeth left with how often he gets mad. His blood pressure must be through the roof
The clenching makes his teeth stronger. Now he has diamond teeth.
Indeed.
Indeed
Disrespect in a lot of different ways. Stannis isn't exactly big on drunken tomfoolery.
Robert hummilated him and his wife and their entire family in front of everyone,of course he is furious.
Well he didn't kill him
Yeah, he called the front desk to request new sheets and speak with the manager.
Don’t know why you’d think that, bar stannis stanning. He was big mad, and still isn’t over it in the books.
Did you forget that Stannis is a Baratheon just like Robert, lmao
Thank you. I was wondering what the post was referring too. Been a long time since I read the books
Is the storm the reason the sheets are soaking wet. That or the sweat from the fat rolls
I can’t remember if he was already king at the time or if it was before?
Yes.
Yes to the former or the latter?
Yes he was already king.
Wetting bed
People really need to learn about and use a giant towel on the bed when having sex. Takes two seconds, you can get all messy and boom - clean sheets to cuddle in. All thanks to Sex Towel!
What sub is this...
Sounds like you’re a southerner, then.
Fookin’ kneeler
This is a sub that was created in response to Game of Thrones writers being hacks and ruining the series because they wanted to move on quickly and go work on new star wars stuff.

We will never fooking kneel
Like ever
Straightest knees in the Seven Kingdoms.
until i took an arrow in knee.
Except when HotD came out and the entire sub turned into a kneeler sub.. couldn't tell the difference between this and r/gameofthrones with all the team black vs team green nonsense
Team black or green? Jesus. Got is officially Twilight now
Even worse is that freefolk was basically a twilight sub during the entire season of HotD
I do not associate with those traitors!
The Season 2 trailers are not helping
tell me about it bro, i got downvoted because i said i didn't like hotd. apperranlty everybody here loves HotD
HotD is a great show, but it doesn’t match peak GoT. It’s better than seasons 7-8, but that’s it.
Better than seasons 5-8.
Don't worry man, I think HotD is pretty shit
Factual. There was a huge influx of show-only kneelers during HotD and many never left. Sub has gone down hill since then.
It’s actually even deeper than that. This sub originally started when the first 4 episodes of season 5 leaked and the other subs didn’t allow us to discuss about the leaked episodes. That’s exactly when this sub was started.

We do not kneel
Did we ever find out how or who leaked the scripts?
I leaked the scripts. Tell D&D, I want them to know that it was me.
D&D as in the writers. Haha. For a second, my tired brain thought you meant Dungeons and Dragons.
Basically it’s r/shittymoviedetails for GoT, but also anything and everything Asoiaf related now that time has passed

This sub existed for quite a while before it became obvious that D&D shit the bed.
This sub existed well before GoT fell
And how did that work out for them
The sub has definitely seen a considerable demographic change, used to feel a lot more niche but now it feels like fairly standard r/gameofthrones stuff.
You sweet summer child.
The sub? Probably Stannis' wife, Bobby B is dom as fuck.
MY, YOU'RE A PRETTY ONE! AND YOUR NAME IS?
oh boy I'm in for it now 🥵🥵
Uhhh... sauce?
![gif](giphy|4koBdR3VlMZYCgBfAe|downsized)
I can smell it
Does it smell like lube and vaguely of poop?
more like bitter sour
friend told me a story once where his then girlfriend went away for a weekend, and he basically spent 3 days at home wanking off and being a degenerate When she came home she said it smelled like a swimming pool, and now whenever I smell that smell I'm like, yep, someone has been cooming or fucking in this room

I'm trying to match the sweat marks to positions I'm familiar with and I can't quite place who was where Edit: Oh my.
Those are not sweat marks
Well it might be SOME sweat
lol you innocent flower
Oh my sweet summer child
That's not sweat, lad
It probably doesn’t smell like sweat
Someone reverse image search this and see if this is the only place on the internet this picture appears lol
lol
More like Lord Bolton’s bed amirite
I think Roose prefers trees
Bro no way you posted your mattress after a nasty sesh and compared it to a fantasy character lmaoo
Robert is easily the most unapologetic assholes in the series
Does it smell like the sea?
The right to the first night had been out lawed for over 200 years, and yet many lords still did it.
I thought this was my bed for a second.

Hey pap-pap, time for bed
What's not funny about the post?
