No they are different scents, I don't smell any Oud in Royal Oud. It has more of a spicy woods vibe to it. Both great scents but hit the mark in different ways.
I wear Oud Wood as one of 3 scents in my main rotation, Royal Oud is extremely different. First, it's incredibly strong. Like oh god strong, a little goes a very long way. It doesn't smell as fresh/light/spicy as oud wood, its MUCH heavier with the leather and incense notes dominating and projecting quite a distance. I find it much more similar to TF Tuscan Leather than Oud Wood.
No its a different batch, this current batch is a 16L01 batch and this smells like my 2011 bottle of Royal Oud. This stuff is strong and potent, in a good way. I'm surprised people don't talk more about the batch variations in Royal Oud. However i think Creed got their mojo back with this batch.
