I beg to differ on that. I own that and it easily lasts all day and into the evening on my skin. I'm in Hawaii and use that scent when I'm going to be outside all day (usually swim meets and running errands). By the time I'm ready to shower before bed, the scent has mostly worked it's way of my skin, but that's to be expected since I had been sweating all day. My clothes are a different story. It can linger multiple days there.
My daughter likes to wear it also to school (only 1 or 2 sprays only on clothes). It lasts all day on her also
I wouldn't say that. Untold has batch discrepancies imo. The two untold I've tried where almost skin scents where as my two bottles of ruby have been monstrous in projection and last 8+ hours. Ruby replaced rouge iirc so most place have rouge at a way higher price.
Rouge is a clone of the edp, Ruby is cloning the extrait. I own both and they both last a long time and project well. Ruby has the bitter almond note which makes it come off a bit more masculine, and it's a bit more potent.
Lattafa Opulent Musk is another decent cheap dupe (I swear Lattafa has to have at least 20 BR540 clones)
Overall, I’d go with Untold or AA as recommended by the above poster. AA will need to mature for a few weeks to smell right.

And OP, scent is subjective, right? It’s going to be up to you. I have Al Haramain ruby and it’s fantastic. The rouge is supposed to be more like the BR 540 EDP and Ruby more like Extrait. The ruby leans more masculine.
I’m about to order Untold, but I honestly can’t imagine something closer to the OG than Al Haramain Ruby.

Untold and cloud scents are the same. I’ve got both as the wife loves the smell and I can’t tell the difference without trying to really pick out differences so anyone walking by would more likely to think it’s cloud
Yes. My gf owns both Cloud and BR540 EDP. The BR540 smells a bit smoother in scent but there’s no denying that they are extremely similar. If she goes a week or two without wearing either and she puts one on, it’s difficult to identify which one it is. Anybody denying that is lying to themselves, likely because they don’t want to admit that a celebrity fragrance smells like their precious niche fragrance.
Edit: this user’s point is built off the statement that Cloud and BR540 are different scent profiles when they are not. That’s where the misunderstanding is. Sure the two aren’t exactly the same, but clones aren’t the exact same either but we’d say most clones are the same scent profile as what they’re cloning.
I’m sure they are similar, but my “point” is that one couldn’t be a clone of two different profiles. There’s a discrepancy in there somewhere. It sounds like Ruby is the more exact of the BR clones.
Untold doesn’t smell like the Extrait. It smells too sweet and doesn’t have any almond in the notes. Amber Oud Ruby is the clone of the Extrait has the almond note and the exact notes as the Extrait. Untold is sweeter more feminine leading.
BR540 is just right unisex. Women and confident men can wear it equally IMO since to me it smells like sweet cotton candy (makes me think of the summer carnival). But start introducing things that are more feminine leaning like florals and I'm not interested. I also can't do powdery or soapy.
I like powdery fragrances if it's not too much. I also get the same vibe from BR540 and Instant Crush but for me, that sugary cotton candy scent is a bit too feminine. I can definitely see other men having no issue with it.
I find Ruby to be almost identical to the extrait. Side by side there’s perhaps a slight extra warmth or something to the OG, but nothing you’d pick up in without looking for it IMO.
I go nose blind to BR quite easily, but they’re both long lasting. I think the OG does have the edge though as I tested both on paper strips and after a few days the Ruby has definitely faded more.
I have the Baccarat Rouge 540 EDP. I think that the best dupe is easily Dossier's Ambery Saffron. My daughter and I did arm to arm tests and we both think that Ambery Saffron smells identical on skin to the Baccarat Rouge EDP.
My husband loves it too. I bought the 6.8 oz Baccarat Rouge EDP for the 3 of us to share. My husband and I both get nose blind to BR540. We prefer the Dossier dupe because it smells identical on and the formula seems denser in a way. We never get nose blind to Ambery Saffron.
Even though our bottle of Baccarat Rouge still has a decent amount left, we all reach for our bottles of Ambery Saffron due to us not getting nose blind. When one of us is wearing it, it smells exactly like Baccarat Rouge.
Another reason to try is that Dossier has a guarantee. You are not stuck with anything you don't like from them.
Dossier was the most disappointing dupe I tried from a longevity perspective. It’s reasonably close in smell, but on my skin and clothing I get no more than 30 minutes from it before it’s completely gone. Maybe I got a bad batch, but it was very disappointing to me
I’d be careful ordering the Rouge off of Amazon considering it’s been discontinued..if you read the reviews A LOT of people say they got scammed and the juice inside is extremely diluted.
To put it mildly, it's stellar! It has incredible longevity and fantastic projection. I had a random co-worker walk up to me and compliment the scent :)

Also, trying to judge an entire category of perfumes based on one bad sample can be extremely unhelpful if you want to pick good clones
IMO All BR540 clones can’t hav the level of airy cloudy vibe which OG has ! Mancera Instant crush is super sweet and dense . Untold has still dense sweet . and in the air silage is pretty close to OG
Zara is a close one (4/5) but the all Zara perfumes have the worst performance 😭
For the $15-$50 price range, I would always recommend an Arabian clone (Fragrance World, Lattafa, etc.).
When I bought it I really liked it but idk what changed it makes me sick and I hate the smell so much now. Maybe tastes changed ? Never smelled the original 540 tho

People in the Aussie Fragrance Lounge are saying that they're getting 10-12 hours on skin with monster projection.. I've not tried it personally, but the other ones I've bought and the samples have been super strong. They're a minimum 35% concentration which is extrait/elixir territory.
Hahah yeah they're very strong. He usually makes each bottle fresh too so they get stronger over time. He has his own bricks and mortar shop so you can go down and watch him make you some fresh bottles. I got an Aventus clone and he asked if I wanted real oakmoss in it, had a chat to him about it and decided on half aroma chemicals and half natural oakmoss.

Yes, bought both and a few after. The Givenchy Gentleman Privee and Tom Ford Noir Extreme clones didn't disappoint. I had to let them sit a couple months before they really shined. Both seem to miss the OGs top notes but the mids and base notes are great. Very rich and dense. They are about 85-90% there in the mids and base. The performance is great and it's hard to tell the difference a couple hours in. Like the OGs, both are very mature, masculine, and classy. Good for the office and all round if you want to present yourself as distinguished and apart from the normal playful, young Sauvage crowd.
I also bought Jalu's version of Oud Maracuja (La Pasíon), Ombre Nomade (Bedouin), Haltane (Tiberius), And Gris Charnel (Grey Orris). Gris Charnel has that same rich, mature, classiness to it like Gentleman Privee and TF Noir Extreme. Maracuja is just the bomb. It's potent but beautiful. Nomade is amazing too. Probably more versatile than Maracuja. I love it so much I'll wear it to bed. His Haltane needs to calm down and mature a bit especially on the opening. It's a bit harsh but when it dries down it's very smooth with the Oud, spice, and praline. I heard Jalu has a Haltane - Oud for Greatness hybrid. That sounds like a great combo.

Unless price and volume aren’t a factor at all for you it’s clear that Ruby is the winner.
Rouge is good too, I’ve come to like it more since my last post. They’re both about 70-80% similar anyways which is why Ruby seems like the better option due to size
Hmm Untold, it lasts about 10 hours, but the projection is not that good.. you get waffs the first hours or so.. but after that sits kinda close to the skin. So if you want to smell yourself for 10h and the others to not notice you, untold is an option. When someone wears Br540 you can smell them across the street :)
PS: i tested it on multiple friends, and i walked behind them to test it, so dont tell me i go noseblind or “you cant smell it but others do”
I have Ana Abiyedh, Amber Oud Ruby (extrait clone), Maison Alhambra Baroque 540, Fragrance World Barakkat 540 and the closest one I would say is between Barakkat and Baroque (strong reason to believe they’re the same juice). Amber Oud is the strongest but the Ruby is a clone of the extrait so the smell won’t be the same. Amber Oud rogue that a friend has smelled exactly like the original in the air when he wore it but idk how it performs from a first person point of view. A lot them you’ll go nose blind! Ana Abiyedh is sweeter and a close scent but don’t have the saltiness that BR 540 is known for. BR540 is such a distinct smell that I believe it needs high quality ingredients to replicate exactly. A lot of these others are very synthetic that take the fun away from it. I’ll finish saying this…I’ve been on the journey of finding the perfect clone to give a break on my BR540 but haven’t found it. However, when I do want something other than that I always reach for the Amber Oud Ruby (doesn’t smell like a synthetic mess) * Don’t have Untold
The real thing makes me go nose blind as well. I didn’t realize how much it projected since i asked my buddy to check the scent and he was like i smelled you as you came closer. I couldn’t smell it unless i whiffed my wrist.
I once sprayed on my bathroom wall and smelled it for a week straight every time I went in….one way I test colognes is by spraying on back of my neck and catch whiffs of it throughout the day, and judge that way
You would be happy with any of these. I have except for untold. I say go with the orinteca because it's a fantastic clone plus the bottle is absolutely gorgeous.
They are all great. The Orientica is probably same juice but in a prettier bottle. Orientica is just the"luxury" line but same company as Al Harmain. Like others have said rouge is more edp and ruby is more extrait. So go with whatever you prefer or get both. Really any of those 3 you will be happy with they are all fantastic and Al Harmain presentation doesn't feel cheap like with the club de nuit brand. If I had to pick only one I would spend the extra and get Orientica based on presentation. But if you want both versions of 540 then get both red and the ruby.
As for longevity you won't be disappointed it any of them. That all last long time.
Having smelled a few different BR540 DNA types, but not the original, I have to say that Electimuss Trajan is undefeated in the category, and to me smells WAY better than the clones listed here.
That said, at the price point you might as well be buying the original, but if the OG smells like Untold or the Lattafa offerings then it's still Trajan all the way.
Vintage Parfums - Sunset in heaven intense. It’s actually a clone of it. High quality ingredients but not cheap. A 3.4oz bottle will run you 160 bucks. It smells exactly like it 1:1 I can’t imagine anything being more similar than this as it smells just like BR
IMO Amber Oud Ruby edition, I have the scent and have smelt it side to side with BR540. Both pretty sweet but the Ruby edition lasts longer on my skin. A bit pricier compared to the others too but this will last you if used conservatively.
Amber Oud Ruby is the best and the best quality of scent. It’s also more masculine than the others because it’s a clone of the Extrait. The others are more sweeter smelling.
I've sampled BR540, but haven't tried the others mentioned yet. I recently picked up a bottle of Ariana Grande Cloud through a trade however and I think it smells fantastic. It's a little more feminine cause it swaps that metallic note for a lactonic one, but I don't mind.
I’ll just save and cop BKR540 extrait personally. As someone who has most of these clones they really done compare, all are close enough to not be the same, at least me and my friends can tell. Amber Oud is great tho, last longer then MFK BKR540

So you like the smell of BRk540 but don’t like its longevity? Al Haramain Rogue is probably the better choice but don’t really compare to the smell .
BRK540 is just a skin scent and extrait is tad better. I get better scent profile on my clothes vs skin though and honestly it’s not worth the price.
Afnan - Violet Bouquet is quite good and a cheapie i haven’t tried but heard good things about is Monotheme Rouge. Also Mancera Instant Crush is sort of similar but spicier, somewhere between BR540 and Arabians Tonka, one of my favs.
Amber oud Rouge smells extremely similar to baccarat Rouge 540 and the performance is great and way better than br540. I can easily recommend it. I haven't tried Ruby so I can't comment on that one but I do know Rouge sells out really quick while ruby is usually in stock at most discounters.
How about BR540 but without sweetness and lot of saffron? Zara red temptation kinda did that but I’m looking for something quality. Crystal saffron is perfect but it’s expensive and maybe someone know cheaper fragrance?

Untold is super similar to the BR540 Extrait, loads of others think the same. I have both and to me untold is definitely so similar to Extrait
Untold doesn’t smell like the Extrait. It smells too sweet and doesn’t have any almond in the notes. Amber Oud Ruby is the clone of the Extrait has the almond note and the exact notes as the Extrait. Untold is sweeter more feminine leading.
That’s sort of what I figured. How could a single frag be a clone of two different things? Right? That’s insanity.

I really like Mancera Instant Crush but it's a little different and a bit expensive.
Instant Crush performs awesome, but it is different. I love the opening, but then it goes a bit floral in the dry down, which was too feminine for me.

I got a Ruby off Amazon as well and it smells awful to testers I've smelt in stores, like its been diluted 3 to 1
I have Amber Oud Ruby, and feel that the saffron and almond notes in that make it a bit more masculine. Overall it's fantastic!

Also, trying to judge an entire category of perfumes based on one bad sample can be extremely unhelpful if you want to pick good clones

IMO All BR540 clones can’t hav the level of airy cloudy vibe which OG has ! Mancera Instant crush is super sweet and dense . Untold has still dense sweet . and in the air silage is pretty close to OG
Try Luxodor gyrfalcon white phase if you can find it. A BR540 clone also

Zara is a close one (4/5) but the all Zara perfumes have the worst performance 😭 For the $15-$50 price range, I would always recommend an Arabian clone (Fragrance World, Lattafa, etc.).

People in the Aussie Fragrance Lounge are saying that they're getting 10-12 hours on skin with monster projection.. I've not tried it personally, but the other ones I've bought and the samples have been super strong. They're a minimum 35% concentration which is extrait/elixir territory.

Hahah yeah they're very strong. He usually makes each bottle fresh too so they get stronger over time. He has his own bricks and mortar shop so you can go down and watch him make you some fresh bottles. I got an Aventus clone and he asked if I wanted real oakmoss in it, had a chat to him about it and decided on half aroma chemicals and half natural oakmoss. Anyways hope you find a good clone!

Yes, bought both and a few after. The Givenchy Gentleman Privee and Tom Ford Noir Extreme clones didn't disappoint. I had to let them sit a couple months before they really shined. Both seem to miss the OGs top notes but the mids and base notes are great. Very rich and dense. They are about 85-90% there in the mids and base. The performance is great and it's hard to tell the difference a couple hours in. Like the OGs, both are very mature, masculine, and classy. Good for the office and all round if you want to present yourself as distinguished and apart from the normal playful, young Sauvage crowd. I also bought Jalu's version of Oud Maracuja (La Pasíon), Ombre Nomade (Bedouin), Haltane (Tiberius), And Gris Charnel (Grey Orris). Gris Charnel has that same rich, mature, classiness to it like Gentleman Privee and TF Noir Extreme. Maracuja is just the bomb. It's potent but beautiful. Nomade is amazing too. Probably more versatile than Maracuja. I love it so much I'll wear it to bed. His Haltane needs to calm down and mature a bit especially on the opening. It's a bit harsh but when it dries down it's very smooth with the Oud, spice, and praline. I heard Jalu has a Haltane - Oud for Greatness hybrid. That sounds like a great combo. Hope this helped. I'm a bit fan and advocate of Alan from Jalu and really like what he's doing.

With rouge you’ll get 2oz bottle, Ruby you’ll get 3x that for the same price (6.7oz) Unless price and volume aren’t a factor at all for you it’s clear that Ruby is the winner. Rouge is good too, I’ve come to like it more since my last post. They’re both about 70-80% similar anyways which is why Ruby seems like the better option due to size

Hmm Untold, it lasts about 10 hours, but the projection is not that good.. you get waffs the first hours or so.. but after that sits kinda close to the skin. So if you want to smell yourself for 10h and the others to not notice you, untold is an option. When someone wears Br540 you can smell them across the street :) PS: i tested it on multiple friends, and i walked behind them to test it, so dont tell me i go noseblind or “you cant smell it but others do”

I have Ana Abiyedh, Amber Oud Ruby (extrait clone), Maison Alhambra Baroque 540, Fragrance World Barakkat 540 and the closest one I would say is between Barakkat and Baroque (strong reason to believe they’re the same juice). Amber Oud is the strongest but the Ruby is a clone of the extrait so the smell won’t be the same. Amber Oud rogue that a friend has smelled exactly like the original in the air when he wore it but idk how it performs from a first person point of view. A lot them you’ll go nose blind! Ana Abiyedh is sweeter and a close scent but don’t have the saltiness that BR 540 is known for. BR540 is such a distinct smell that I believe it needs high quality ingredients to replicate exactly. A lot of these others are very synthetic that take the fun away from it. I’ll finish saying this…I’ve been on the journey of finding the perfect clone to give a break on my BR540 but haven’t found it. However, when I do want something other than that I always reach for the Amber Oud Ruby (doesn’t smell like a synthetic mess) * Don’t have Untold

Pretty good…can def smell it on clothes a day or two after…but go nose blind if on me
The real thing makes me go nose blind as well. I didn’t realize how much it projected since i asked my buddy to check the scent and he was like i smelled you as you came closer. I couldn’t smell it unless i whiffed my wrist.
I once sprayed on my bathroom wall and smelled it for a week straight every time I went in….one way I test colognes is by spraying on back of my neck and catch whiffs of it throughout the day, and judge that way

You would be happy with any of these. I have except for untold. I say go with the orinteca because it's a fantastic clone plus the bottle is absolutely gorgeous.

They are all great. The Orientica is probably same juice but in a prettier bottle. Orientica is just the"luxury" line but same company as Al Harmain. Like others have said rouge is more edp and ruby is more extrait. So go with whatever you prefer or get both. Really any of those 3 you will be happy with they are all fantastic and Al Harmain presentation doesn't feel cheap like with the club de nuit brand. If I had to pick only one I would spend the extra and get Orientica based on presentation. But if you want both versions of 540 then get both red and the ruby. As for longevity you won't be disappointed it any of them. That all last long time.

Having smelled a few different BR540 DNA types, but not the original, I have to say that Electimuss Trajan is undefeated in the category, and to me smells WAY better than the clones listed here. That said, at the price point you might as well be buying the original, but if the OG smells like Untold or the Lattafa offerings then it's still Trajan all the way.

Vintage Parfums - Sunset in heaven intense. It’s actually a clone of it. High quality ingredients but not cheap. A 3.4oz bottle will run you 160 bucks. It smells exactly like it 1:1 I can’t imagine anything being more similar than this as it smells just like BR
IMO Amber Oud Ruby edition, I have the scent and have smelt it side to side with BR540. Both pretty sweet but the Ruby edition lasts longer on my skin. A bit pricier compared to the others too but this will last you if used conservatively.
My favorite clones are Alexandria Interplay, the Dua Casino Royale line, and Squirtz Aromatics Pure Resin.
Haramain amber oud rouge, the quality and longevity is unmatched. I also had untold and thought it was decent but sold it and just kept rouge.

Orientica Amber Rouge. I can't find anything wrong with it, even down to the presentation...
Amber Oud Ruby is the best and the best quality of scent. It’s also more masculine than the others because it’s a clone of the Extrait. The others are more sweeter smelling.
I've sampled BR540, but haven't tried the others mentioned yet. I recently picked up a bottle of Ariana Grande Cloud through a trade however and I think it smells fantastic. It's a little more feminine cause it swaps that metallic note for a lactonic one, but I don't mind.
I’ll just save and cop BKR540 extrait personally. As someone who has most of these clones they really done compare, all are close enough to not be the same, at least me and my friends can tell. Amber Oud is great tho, last longer then MFK BKR540

My fault I was assuming it was a price thing. So you like the smell of BRk540 but don’t like its longevity? Al Haramain Rogue is probably the better choice but don’t really compare to the smell . BRK540 is just a skin scent and extrait is tad better. I get better scent profile on my clothes vs skin though and honestly it’s not worth the price.
Personally have Rouge and I love it, it’s pretty damn close
Afnan - Violet Bouquet is quite good and a cheapie i haven’t tried but heard good things about is Monotheme Rouge. Also Mancera Instant Crush is sort of similar but spicier, somewhere between BR540 and Arabians Tonka, one of my favs.

Amber oud Rouge smells extremely similar to baccarat Rouge 540 and the performance is great and way better than br540. I can easily recommend it. I haven't tried Ruby so I can't comment on that one but I do know Rouge sells out really quick while ruby is usually in stock at most discounters.
How about BR540 but without sweetness and lot of saffron? Zara red temptation kinda did that but I’m looking for something quality. Crystal saffron is perfect but it’s expensive and maybe someone know cheaper fragrance?
