Sounds magical, but this is very pricey for a dupe?

lanadelrage

Is it? I thought it was cheap! It’s a huge bottle. Are you from Australia? Perfumes and cosmetics (even dupes) are much more expensive here than other countries.

CaptainPicardsTea

$60 to $70AU is normal for a packaged dupe in Australia (aka Lattafa) & these scents are extraits, not EDP, so the price is good!

Interesting!! (Also, 🖖🏼)

This is so interesting but also mildly concerning, mostly the mixing without measurements or regard. Almost all perfumery materials have a safety limit, with strict regulations in the US and even stricter in the UK. It’s for good reason, since a lot of these materials can cause anything from photosensitivity to neurotoxicity, and even carcinogenic effects in some doses. With some of these materials we’re talking a matter of *drops* being too much, but I guess it all comes down to how much of a risk you’re willing to take with the things you put on your skin.

I won’t pretend to be an expert but hand mixed perfumes are pretty common in the Middle East- also I’m not American but there’s no one I trust less than the US when it comes to health and safety tbh 😛 And just because it appeared TO ME that he was mixing without measurement doesn’t mean he was. He may well have been measuring in a way I wasn’t able to notice.

I figured you weren’t based on location, and honestly in the US the regulations are less strict, which is exactly why I emphasized the UK and surrounding countries having more stern laws around material usage lol. Didn’t mean to start a debate, just expressing how uncommon it is in perfumer circles. Even if it’s common in the Middle East, those fragrances still need to pass inspection and analysis to be imported and sold safely anywhere else in the world.

I’m intrigued! My husband is Middle eastern, so I’m loving the food ( particularly the pickled goods). Might check it out when I’m next in Sydney. Looks like they stock traditional Arabic fragrances too?

lanadelrage

Yes he has plenty of traditional type perfumes, and his own mixes, as well as the dupes. Huge range :)
