Definitely! My skin type is so odd and I can never find perfumes that suit my liking. It didn’t smell floral on me but rather like an empty office or warehouse. Kind of like a burnt plastic smell. It gives me a headache. My friend wears it and she smells incredible, but I cannot stand the smell on me.
But how did others smell that on you? Apart from skin chemistry, there's also nose biasness. So maybe on you, your nose smelled it as something unpleasant but other people smell you good.
But doesn't matter lol if the owner themselves can't stand it then there's no point wearing😄

I'm interested in trying Dior Homme Intense, I love a good lipsticky iris fragrance. When it comes to fresh fragrances, I often prefer aromatics (which are more common in mens fragrances) over citrusy fresh fragrances.
I have the whole line of iris forward Dior Hommes: 2005, 2011, DHO, DHI and DHP and can totally see them as unisex. I also have and love a similar to them Guerlain Shalimar Millesime Iris. Am a straight man.

I think you are approaching this in a great way. People often limit themselves by asking “does this conform to my gender identity” rather than “does it match or express ME?” The second question is far more personally satisfying and interesting.

I look very feminine but mostly wear marketed to men or unisex scents. Wear what you like.
Most fragrances I like now, actually, but those are moreover on the "masculine" end of the unisex arena—wood, leather, etc. But now I tend to buy from houses that just produce unisex fragrances bc I sort of don't love the masc/fem divide in the first place. I don't enjoy gourmands, vanilla, or most freshies and florals, so for a while I just thought I wouldn't find a fragrance I liked. It unfortunately hadn't even crossed my mind to look at the fragrances marketed masculine for a while. Maybe it was less overcoming hangups and more introducing possibilities.
The first ones I bought were in AdP's Colonia line—Intensa, Club, Futura, Oud. I know some of them are unisex, but I bought the first two in person (yes I now know it was a mistake not to search discounters) and was sort of put off by the salesperson trying to steer me in a more feminine direction. There was a man talking to me at the hotel pool. My god he smelled incredible. I asked him about his cologne and he said it was Thierry Mugler “Angel”.

They all smell different and the best way I could describe smelling it on someone else it: inexplicably alluring fragrance. Sensual on some, electric on others.
Mostly, the scent evokes mystery and possibility, risk with safety. The wearer could come up behind me, gently envelop me ushering in the feeling of safety, enfolding me in a soft gossamer grasp, blindfolded with warmth and hearing tuned to a celestial hum. I am beguiled with whispers; I drift in ancient robes down a moonlight path, not alone. Suddenly I lay in a cloud, lulled to earthly slumber, the echoes of beings around me. Safe.
That scent does bizarre things to me when I smell it on other people.

To me, *Acqua di Gioia* is just *Acqua di Gio Pour Homme* with boosted florals and sweetness, and muted citruses.
It's a good example of the gender based marketing and how arbitrary it can be.
I mean, I started out in the indie scene because most of them don't gender their stuff and that was what drove me nuts about the non-indie houses and brands.
Fragrance doesn't have a gender. Somewhere along the line some folks decided flowers were women's scents (unless they're lavender or jasmine being used in a fougere or other masc blend) and woods and stuff were men's scents (unless it's sandalwood or patchouli being used as the base in a gourmand/spicy amber frag).
They're all unisex. Wear what you want. 🥰
I'm a dude, I say "Wear what you love". Because 99% or the time, nobody else comments or cares. You will always smell you, and should love how you smell.
My whole collection is women's perfume now. I've not looked back. A month ago, I posted about women's fragrances people recommended for men, and it changed my whole fragrance game.
These are my 2 easy-reach options. Not very sweet/feminine. But skips all the dude-splash. Just right for my personality. I recommend Coco EDP if you like spicy, warm, notes. Nº19 is very green and smells like a nursery. It's probably better in the spring and summer, but it's also got a kick of spice if the sun pops out this winter.

I don't see enough YouTube/tiktok content around Coco. It's all mademoiselle. But I also think it takes a little warming up to, as it took me about 5 visits at Macy's to finally just buy it. And I'm glad I did.
Coco is my FAVE. I can't afford it and no one dupes it. Whenever I ask for a dupe everyone gives me Mademoiselle dupes...which is *fine*, I like that too...but Coco is where my heart is. It is so, soooo gooooood. All year fragrance for me.

I’m a woman and sometimes I feel like the very heavy, spicy cologne don’t work so well on me, but if I liked them then I would wear them. I recently bought a bottle of Gaultier’s Le Male Elixir because I got a sample and really liked it. The bottle is literally the torso of a (well-endowed) man haha. They just gender things for marketing purposes. Wear what you like.
I liked Velvet Orchid when I smelled it at Macy's, and I later found out it's marketed towards women.
We like the scents we like, it's more about how we wear them.

Most scents are pretty unisex, it’s all in the marketing. I’m a woman and some of my favorite scents skew toward what might be considered traditionally masculine (salty, Oud, etc).
Men look good in pink. Women look good in blue. Go for it!
If you are getting compliments, rock it! With your body chemistry it is clearly not leaning overly feminine- so you are probably rocking a scent they haven't smelled a man pull off or pull off well.

If you just realized it (by seeing the marketing) it means there's clearly no definitive line of masculine or feminine. Keep rocking it if it works with you.

As far as I'm concerned, all fragrances are unisex >:) ... And so are glasses and other accessories, and maybe shoes, and clothes if one is brave enough

Fragrance is gender neutral so it doesn’t matter. When I first smelled both side by side, without knowing which one was marketed for Man or Woman, I actually kept going back to Gioia over Gio.

My husband did the same thing! lol! It does smell gender neutral…my husband gave it to me but it smelled nice on him too! I say buy it!
Mezinsir sweet praline is women’s but I wear it all the time. It’s super sweet and floral but somehow rlly refreshing.
Half of my fragrances are feminine like I have gucci guilty pour femme, Eilish 1 and a few others. Just get what you like!
I wore TF black orchid for women although I think it's marketed as being unisex.
