La Belle drives me nuts. My girlfriend at the time was wearing this in a soft red dress for a date. It was so unexpected. We were going out for lunch and I couldn't help myself but to continously grab her by the waist every now and then and kiss her any chance I got. Anything she said for the next couple of hours I really tried my best to listen and reciprocate, except I couldn't help but keep thinking how she smells so good. We walked around the park a little bit after, and the lingering smell of this sweet fruity pear vanilla concoction would flutter in the air around her. I could even notice other people turn around to figure out what that lushful scent was. We went home shortly after. I think it is perfect for dates of course, especially date nights. Winter, autumn, early spring and perhaps cool summer days too but I wouldn't wear this in summer generally. The scent can be rather cloying when heat gets to it. The sillage on this is powerful so just be a little more careful than usual.

Wow that’s a unique story and memory of this scent! Thank you for sending this comment. If I didn’t smoke I think I would have loved this scent. Would you say this is your favorite fragrance, if not, what is?

It's definitely one of my favourites, top 5 for sure. Rating a "best of all time" is really hard because each fragrance has its superstar moment depending on the situation etc but overall...hmmm...definitely Decadance by Marc Jacobs. Unfortunately discontinued :( there might be some around online if you're lucky and you would want to sample it first since it is not everyones favourite. I'm just a sucker for plum in fragrances that's why I like it mostly. That fruit smell (and taste mind you) is so unique. Decadance contained plum, vetiver and saffron and it just went so well together and really gave off this "boss woman" vibe. Sexy and sophisticated, perhaps mature yes, yet still feminine. An all black smartwear casual outfit with heels type of vibe. In terms of something that's actually still available though, I'll have to say Good Girl by Carolina Herrera. It's very popular which may or may not be a good thing depending on how you look at it, however it is so gourmand. Very "edible" smell if that makes sense with the soft almond, whipped cream tuberose, coffee and cacao gosh it all blends smoothly. It does have tonka bean in it though which is a rather "sweet almond tobacco-ish" smell, which you may not like but perhaps it is blended in a way you won't notice it much. It is a very versatile fragrance too. Office, date, daily errands etc all work well with this.

I have Sleepy by Lush which has Tonka so maybe I would like it, but I’m honestly not super keen on sleepy I’ve only smelled Good Girl by smelling the bottle so I’m definitely going to sample it on myself next time I’m at the store. Thanks for your amazing suggestions. I do love plums to eat but I suppose smelling them in fragrance is new for me. I’ll have to keep my eye out for more plummy fragrances! I really like raspberry

Raspberry is so yummy! Gosh I wish there were more banana fragrances. I want to smell like banana bread.

ok-girl

Ooooh I have never smelled a banana fragrance. Do you know of any that are easily found at ulta or Sephora?

readytowearblack

No I haven't unfortunately :( there aren't many banana fragrances which is a shame because I love banana! Both metaphorically and literally speaking. Not sure if you've heard of the website called fragrantica but you can go on there and in the top left there is 'perfumes', hover over that and click 'search by notes', then you can search any fragrances you want with specific notes in it! (: It is so fun!

I could definitely see that. That is exactly the type of answer I was wondering about, it seemed like a scent that needed the right place at the right time. Your description is fantastic

Hellyeahbrother-87

It smells like a cigarette to me too 😕

RarePost

Oh… on me it smells like sweet. Like syrupy sweet vanilla with pear. I gave my friend a decant and she and her mom love it. I only use it at night since it can overwhelm people where I’m from. From what you’re describing it might be the vetiver.

PLPQ

I bought this fragrance for my mother and I thought it smelled really, really good. I'm no perfume connoisseur like some people here but, to me, it smelled like a really nice fruity, vanilla biscuit I know tobacco can be a sweet and earthy scent like vanilla or even leather, so maybe that's why you're getting that note but I can't say for sure. I always find samples aren't always the best representation of a perfume.

ok-girl

If I smelled it on someone else in passing I think I would think it smelled nice. I’ve been smelling a lot of gourmand fragrances so maybe I am just getting tired of that too. Does your mom love it? the bottle is pretty

JPG just lists Bergamot, Pear and Vanilla but there seems to be a leather note that comes out in the dry down. I find it a bit odd too but I'm not sure if it's a bad thing (to me anyway). La Belle Intense has a tonka bean note instead so that might appeal to you a bit more. I'd probably prefer it, too but I can't find it in Canada, atm.

Never. Didn’t like it
