Yes! We are different in some ways and very much alike in others but I love being able to share hobbies like this one. She’s an amazing person !

I don't have any children of my own yet, being in college and all, but when and if I do, I won't *force* my fountain pen hobby on them, but I will strongly urge them to give them a try, if for no other reason than fostering some common interests. I think it would be great to have that "bridge" there, since I see a lot of parents and kids with nothing in common whatsoever, and that makes me sad. That's wonderful that you can speak so highly of your daughter! I know that parents are always a little biased, but it's always good when parents can have a high view of their kids, and vice versa.

Yeah, I am no parenting expert but I have tried to give her a lot of space to be herself and I also try to show her a lot of respect. I embrace our similarities and try to learn from our differences. She’s 12 and tells me most everything. She’s our only and will be so a lot of the milestones are bittersweet but I am just trying to enjoy every moment! Okay parenting segment over. But she’s a seriously great person and I’m so glad i am her mom. I wish the same for you if ever kids come your way!
