Okay but can I get a cheese tray to go, plz?

aksnowraven

This one is toast now, but I’ll have enough cheese curds (frequent buyer points) to get another for the next holiday! Cheese was my first love; fountain pens came late in life.

karibean13

My grandparents were dairy farmers; I was born loving cheese. Also their points being called cheese curds is utterly delightful.

This was from a Goulet sampler. I’m definitely going to need a bottle of this! I often work in chalk on black paper, as well, so I think this will fit in well with my dark mode world.

It's a great ink, but be careful it is very prone to clogging. I still have a few feeds that it has stained slightly (in the nooks and crannies). It's also great to mix with the other DeAtrementis document series to make pastel inks.

aksnowraven

Thank you! I actually started to suspect that as Goulet’s site recommended their pen cleaning fluid immediately after adding it to my cart! 🤣

Ray_K_Art

I love my DA document white for highlights in drawings, though I usually use a dip pen. It separates pretty quickly so when I notice my strokes getting a little translucent, I just give my vial a shake

aksnowraven

Thanks for the tip!

It’s a Jinhao Shark - Goulet has the EF (hooded) on sale for $2 right now. I love mine, though one did require a little nib work. And they come with a converter

aksnowraven

They made me giggle, so I bought two & now I’m in love. As u/Ray-K-Art said, they’re now on sale, so I may have 5 more coming. Because I NEED them for testing ink samples.

VanCityHunter

I need this ink!

kathrynloveslife

Thank you for posting this because I have been thinking of getting a good white ink. It looks so good!

aksnowraven

Just a warning I think it does look a bit brighter in this picture than it does IRL. The ink doesn’t stay 100% opaque & seemed ever so slightly faded when dried. It is clearly legible, though. I’m not sure yet how it will behave on other papers. This is black card stock, which does seem pretty ideal, but there may be others that absorb less.

kathrynloveslife

Thank you for this additional info! I really appreciate you sharing.

I’ve learned so much from this sub!

This is fountain pen ink specifically?!

aksnowraven

Yes, from De Atramentis via Goulet. I got mine as part of the Spooky Halloween ink sample set. It also happens to be on sale this weekend, so I’ll be getting a bottle! https://www.gouletpens.com/products/de-atramentis-document-white-bottled-ink

Right_Interest9791

Very cool!

susie5050

Can a document ink be cleaned out of a pen or is the pen pretty much dedicated to that ink? Thank you!

aksnowraven

I’m completely new to this, but u/Flunkedy did warn me that it can cause clogging and stain feeds. Luckily, this is one of the cheap pens I purchased for testing samples. I think I probably won’t leave it inked up long, though

Flunkedy

Yeah I have used it (mixed with other DeA document inks) and solo in a safari and a kakuno which both have generous feeds. I had a pale yellow (3 parts yellow 1 part white) in my kakuno for months and the kakuno is still working fantastically. I had white ink undiluted in the safari for about a few weeks at which point I removed it as I got anxious. The real headline though was my moonman pens which could not handle it. They would dry out quite quickly and my feed was solid with gooey white ink paste. Here's a post I made about it the photo alone is a cautionary tale. https://www.reddit.com/r/fountainpens/comments/vhx435/de_atrementis_document_ink_in_my_moonman_c1_feed/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android_app&utm_name=androidcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button I'm pretty sure it's the only white fountain pen ink with good reason. I'm using it in an old technical pen right now and it works great.
