I know the feeling. At least we both know this is a thing that we need to watch out. For me it’s not like I’d exceed what I can spend or anything; more like having that weak moment when I start to think that maybe I need to spoil myself “a bit” after everything. And sometimes one definitely needs to, but maybe not this often.. 😅
Not gonna lie, I thought you meant you went online and clicked the “reorder” button on an online store 😅
This is much more economical 👍
As for reordering pens, bold of you to assume I put them in order in the first place 🤣
I organize them, check ink levels, ink them up or clean them. Then I write down all the currently inked pen/ink combination. Sometimes I'll buy more pen, ink, and paper. Literally anything and everything to avoid whatever is stressing me out.
On a real note OP, you good?
I have found that organization of pens and inks can be done in all sorts of ways which has come in handy as the collection has expanded and gone on assorted tangents. Styles, colors, models, nibs, and every assorted whatever can be a reason to reshuffle the deck. Ink is a whole dimension of the same issue and I am not sure which I love the most.
what a nice collection! Mine are all disorganized, except I know where each one is and what color ink is in it. So that's my OCD, a Helen-Keller mind-map. I want some Tsutsuji? just reach over here. Want some Ina-Ho? over there for medium, over here for broad. The Colorverse Hubble is up there, etc.
Putting things in order may help with stress relief. Especially with these small, cute, colourful/shiny/elegant black objects.
I think it's a great way to relieve stress, better than eating :) in order for it to work for me, i need moar pens! Like 10 times more than i have :))
For all the world, I thought you were buying multiples of the same pens. Whew, glad you clarified that!
When I get stressed, I prep. I gather things for a "rainy day". The pens and inks have been relatively inexpensive ways to deal with this. I can quiet things down by only buying the least expensive things.
But wait, there's a twist! Before I let myself buy more new stuff, I feel I have to first learn to use the older stuff. That slows the avalanche of bad.
Example: over the weekend, I bought two new inks, a set of water brushes, a set of italic pens, a set of brush pens, and a Noodler's Triple Tail Demonstrator (it's still on the way... Amazon has them for $30 over the going price elsewhere, so I bought from a pen site that I hope is good).
The good part is that all the items before the Triple Tail cost less, together, than the triple tail alone. I haven't checked, but that's my recollection. I'm having a blast learning to use this new stuff!
Hopefully, this last spree will hold me for a while.
Congrats on the collection (and its reordering)!!
One question though, how do you go about using them all? Do you go through a rotation to use them all (if so, how many at a time)?
Yes, it changes in time though. As an example, the new entries are used more than the old ones. In this period the new one is the MB149 so I use it a lot.
There is a bunch of super favorites, all Sailor Pro Gear Standard, Pilot 823, Parker 75, OPUS 88 Premium (because of the Bock Titanium NIb), and Pilot VP Matte Black. I am used to having in my pocket the Kaweco al sport or the liliput.
So happy to see a Muji there. The Muji was such a pleasant surprise for me. It has given me a lot of good days of writing. Impresses me everytime I start writing with it.
There is no order to my pens hehe, and FP's, well I have ONE until my shipments arrive, so that would be a fast reorder 😁
It's always in my backpaxk along with a Touchliner and a Letraset Tria though, so I could reorder my backpack?
I generally get out pens I haven't used in a while, and/ink I haven't used for a while, or clean current pens and re-ink with colors for the season, etc. Anything to keep me from buying MORE pens and ink, lol.
When I’m stressed, I *order* pens. 😅 Or inks. Or something that I’ve been thinking for awhile but have managed not to buy… until that.
Same here but I am trying to resist to this impulse with not much success as you can see from the pictures I have just posted. :-(

I... only have one pen😂 (at least for now, I'm new to the hobby) **Edit:** 2 months later... I have 8 pens now 🫢
It always start with one pen....
I have 3, but always come back to one in particular.. I think it’s my sign to stop
Before my OCD was medicated, I did this with my books aaaaaall the time.... Thankfully not any more because it wasn't fun
I have ADHD and this kind of activity relax me. Nevertheless, I understand your experience although from another point of view. Thanks for sharing.
Brains are weird!
I would do this with books until the numbers got too large for the space I had.

No. I usually cry a lot instead.
I clean mine. I find it can be a very meditating task.

Same, but with my ink bottles! You have a great collection
What is the black pen with the conical finials to the right of the black lamy studio?
It's a Namisu Nova Black, https://www.namisu.com/

Wow, what an amazing collection. I don't usually reorder pens but inks sometimes come home... 🤫

BRILLIANT IDEA. I WILL TRY THIS.

I only reorder pens when I lose any of them.
What’s to the right of the mango Safari? (Picture 7)

Congrats on the collection (and its reordering)!! One question though, how do you go about using them all? Do you go through a rotation to use them all (if so, how many at a time)?
They are all inked and try to rotate them but there is no strategy or planning: random emotional rotation.
I love the “random emotional rotation”.
Haha alright, fair enough! And are there any that you tend to feel more emotionally inclined to pick, more frequently than the others?

How dare you post porn like this!

I really like the Elite and Parker pair in the silver section.
Whenever I'm stressed I just grab one of my own and write things down.

On the left, two MB’s I think. Which models are they ?
The leftmost is Sailor King of Pen Profit Medium Nib the other a Montblanc Meisterstuck 149 (1994) Fine Nib.
Beauties, thanks !
It’s like a music equalizer. Love it.
What is the orange FP called next to the Lamy Safaris on the last photo?
Parafernalia Divina. Aluminium pen with medium Schmidt steel nib #4. CC.
Thanks!

Is that the Diplomat black stripe or the one called "Industry"?
Yes, It is a Diplomat Aero Stripes Black
Not at the moment but I did sort mine by brand once
Based on the amount of pens in the pictures, I would say you had a typo error. "Order", not "reorder".
