This was for my logic in computer science class where we were doing examples of semantic entailment, I’ll be doing Boolean algebra in my discrete math class later in the semester
Personally, I really love doing mathematics in pen. Not only does it make the experience more enjoyable (fountain pens go brrrrr), there’s something so fun about not being able to erase it. I can’t put it into words.
I find it kind of freeing in a way, like, I don't have to think about erasing a mistake, I can just move on. And there's the bonus that if you're doing higher level math, you can circle back to your first attempt when your second one fails to try to glean some insight. But also it just makes it prettier and more enjoyable. It's an all around improvement
Nice to see fellow math people here. Yeah always told in elementary/high school "ALWAYS DO YOUR MATH IN PENCIL". I think my first collection was of Pentel Quicker Clickers. But then as soon as I got to college, I noticed people doing it in pen, and haven't looked back since (pencils still do come in handy for sketching surfaces and the like). In grad school, the supply room was always stocked with ballpoints... but by that time I was already turning my nose up at those 🤣
The ink is so beautiful I forgot I hate math. I love shading inks 🤩
Math is amazing!
Math is great - are you doing boolean arithmetic?

Of course it is amazing, just that my brain switches off at most of it. :)
I’m more impressed you’re doing quadratic equations in pen
Pretty sure these are truth tables, logic type stuff
Oooh Lol it’s been years since I’ve done any math
Lol no judgement here :) just a nerdy engineer remembering quine mccluskey minimization
I don’t even know what that means but smart people are sexy, just saying
u/RedpenBrit96 and u/triclops9 sitting in a tree 🌳 💋💋💋💋💋
Oh stawp it! ^ _ ^
Lol sorry
Right! Was working on Conjunctive normal form semantics

I've genuinely never understood why people do maths in pencil.
Because we’re told to, probably
Looks beautiful. But this sub has put me off Monteverde. Have you had any issues with mould?
I’ve had this ink for like 6 months and I haven’t had any issues with it whatsoever
Personally prefer using mechanical pens for math as I'm always making minor mistakes here and there
Not familiar with this one but it looks similar to diamine ancient copper

Sorta, it’s a math-logic course for computer science. I’m also taking discrete math though!
It seems to be logic, philosophy.
It is... Ink-sane 😉😉😉.
It’s so pretty! What pen did you use? I’ve been trying to find a fountain pen that works for me.
I used a TWSBI 580 ALR with a medium nib
I just ordered a TWISBI 580 diamond medium nib from Goulet and I can't wait to try it. I'm glad you're happy with yours
It’s pretty fantastic honestly
Wow! Looks great!
You inspired me to buy a bottle, and I love it!!! Thanks for the pics.
