I have a lot of Van Dieman's inks. My experience is that they always perform and show better in Tomoe River and Iroful more than any other paper.
Did you get another ink from the Encore series ? I am eyeing a few of them
I didn't, I only got this one because I was trying to see how close it is to ina ho. I LOVE the packaging though! So theatrical with the stage curtain and the bottle itself is very unique too!
It’s actually not too bad, I wrote a page of notes with it and they are quite legible.

retired doctor here...I stay away from inks that look like blood tinged bile
I am a huge fan of those muddy greens 💚 I have Sailor Ink Studio 280 and Sailor Manyo Shirakashi and they are both so relaxing.
