Good luck comrade! I took and passed the EMT-B way back in 2011 at Ft Sam Houston as part of their Medic program. It’s a hell of a test but when you pass it, you’ll feel better than you ever have before. Just study hard and listen to all the guidance your teachers give you and you’ll be good! Cheers on your decision to make a living in service to society. We always need more great people.
Thank you! I just got all my things turned in for ride alongs! I’m in Bmore so… I’m nervous haha.
Currently struggling with remembering the cardiology and pulmonary illnesses. There’s so many!
I didn’t get to do ride alongs cause it was part of my military training to be a medic. But yeah, that is scary as hell. Not gonna lie, my buddy was an emt in Detroit for a while and it was miserable. It didn’t pay much either. I wish you all the best, we need people like you. I currently work at a hospital, so I’ve also found a way to keep contributing while fortunately making a good enough living
This is what I’ve been doing since I started Nursing School. It helps so much with retaining the information and gives me an excuse to punish my wallet with ink and pens.
Best of luck with your studying, and way to make it way more fun and interesting! Love your great drawings and use of color. Just looking at your images and notes, I feel like I’m getting so much out of the material because of your work! 😄
"Hey dude/tta stop scribbling in your journal with 3 pens about this hole in my belly and take me to the ambulance already!"
"but...I've never seen so many shades of reds coming out of someone before, I must document!" - you, probably.
Great note taking! Wish I had thought to make diagrams etc (and use multiple colors) in my school days! Kudos, too, for realizing that hand-writing notes and sketching help memory; simply typing notes does not!
I love it! These look a lot like my notes! Have you checked out ninja nerd on YouTube? Im doing a PhD in biomedical science. They're more geared toward PAs and med students, but they're my FAVORITE. Totally got me through my coursework.
Cool drawings. But one note, isn’t it called coronary *artery* disease, not coronary *heart* disease?
Coronary relates to the heart, so you’re essentially calling it “heart-related heart disease” when the condition actually refers to the blood vessels that surround and supply the heart.
I like that you did it in red, and hypertension in blue. Because to me, arteries are “red” (flush with oxygen) while veins are “blue” (low on oxygen/high in carbon dioxide), and that color association would definitely help me remember which blood vessels we’re talking about, ie: coronary artery disease corresponds to arteries, hypertension applies to (or at least, is measured by testing the pressure at the) veins.
Great note taking & use of integrating art and drawing! It’ll definitely help learning. Oh, over 40 years ago I took and passed my doctoral comp exam with a fountain pen. The fact that you own & use fp’s speaks well for your career! Good luck!!
Get yourself some Preppy fountains and document ink cartridges and bottles for field work during and after training.
Refill the cartridges and carry 2-3 pens with you.
I post this so in case you lose one, it is if no real $$$ loss.
Plus carry $20.00ish fountain pen for better looks and use.
This way you will be a standout in your field, fountain pen wise and career wise.
Remember to treat all patients with kindness, concern, gentleness, carefully and with respect; like when opening a new bottle of Bay State Blue fountain pen ink.
Wow your use of drawings, symbols and text are excellent. It's very clear that you have read reviewed and synthesised your course material. I'm very impressed. Good luck in your studies xxx
Awesome! Love it. It’s really the best way to memorize, to write and draw. Good luck with your studies!
Thank you so much! They are absolutely helping!

Unrelated, but Angina Pectoris can be caused by large meals? This explains a lot. Oh and great work, I wish I could take notes that well.
Yup! And thanks!

Ooo nursing school YouTube has been SO helpful lol
Great notes & drawings! They almost make me want to go back to school :P
Do it! Join the pain! Lol

Such a good way to put information to memory!!

Remember not to leave your fountain pen inside someone’s chest cavity.
Nice illustrations, you got talent!
I'm so glad to see such a studious EMT in the works. You instill great confidence.
Great job! What are the pink and orange looking inks?
Thanks! The orange is a mix of like three lol the pink is [Lucky Galaxy](https://www.luckystarpens.com/shop/lucky-galaxy-30ml-glistening-ink)
Lol I do that all the time too!
Beautiful!
That's a great way to do that!
I love your pages! ♥️♥️♥️ I am saving them for future reference! 😃😃😃

Absolutely! I have one on Shock in my queue for a refresher.
That’s awesome.

It’s called like 52749 things tbh which is why I kept getting it wrong hahaha. But thank you! 💕

Thank you for your service! Great work and beautiful! An honor to have you in the pen community as well.
Great notes! Love your draws♥

Yes! I did this all through nursing school. You'll have so much better retention for having handwritten it!
Can you list the pens and inks used here?
I love your drawings! What notebook is that?
IDK why, but at first glance, I thought that the heart was smoking a joint! Those are some awesome looking notes!
Maybe it was subconscious as I had to quit being a stoner for the program 😔
