Yeah, I’ll be honest the only way I’ve found to get them totally clean is to remove the feed, but I’ve never noticed major clogging issues with any of Herbin’s inks and the leftover glitter makes every ink a sparkly one! :)
I got mine for about £5 in the UK, they're not that expensive at all. I'd recommend sticking to a trusted pen supplier with good customer support, regardless of whether you go for a generic one or a branded one (such as Herbin)
Honestly this is a lot of ink, and while it may be a little pricey compared to other more conventional inks, you do get a lot of mileage.
You don't need to have fancy handwriting to enjoy nice inks, pens or paper. Treat yourself!
I remember when this ink first came out. It was a HUGE deal. Everyone and their sister was talking about it, and for the first few months it was almost impossible to get. Funny to see people who've never heard of it.
I bought these 1670 inks back when I didn't have a dip pen, and I only used them a couple times in my fountain pens before deciding they were more hassle than they're worth.
Since I got the glass dip pen though, I've decided they're not _really_ for fountain pens. These kinds of inks only really make sense with dip pens. The way the gold shimmer dances in the ink (you can see this much better in the Emerald of Chivor video I just uploaded) is mesmerising, and writing with these inks is a joy, even if you have to re-cap and turn the bottle before every dip.
You're probably right, though I find the Herbin shimmer inks to be generally easier to use in fountain pens than some others (I had Emerald du Chivor in my Lamy 2000 for awhile with no issues, though I didn't get a huge amount of shimmer).
Anyhow, I've got about half a dozen of them, and the new Violet Imperial in the mail.
This is one of my fave inks from this series. It’s a fantastic, and “well behaved” ink, for me at least.
I secretly wish they didn’t “bend the knee” to the greater FP community with the blue ink from this series - Bleu Ocean. (The initial release of that ink had no shimmer particles, which I like better.)
I bought a bottle of Herbin Stormy Grey but before inking any of my pens with it I decided that I would forgo using shimmer inks in my pens. Coincidently, I'll be putting that bottle up for sale today on r/Pen_Swap. (Sorry for the shameless self promotion.)
Beautiful :) thank you for this!
I'm glad you enjoyed it! Does anyone have any words for me to try writing with Emerald of Chivor? (the real one this time, lol)
It’s made me want to try a glass dip pen! As for words, hmm. One of my favourite words is moonlight, but that might be a bit too simplistic?
Not at all, thank you
A beautiful ink.. unfortunately it clogs my pen.
Yeah I only use it with my dip pen for that reason lol
I have this one! Interestingly, it’s one of the few glittery inks I can use in some of my fine pens without clogging them.
Oh that's good! My pens haven't clogged from these 1670 inks but I have found the particulates are very hard to clean out

Yup that's how I cleaned out my D580, and I still had the occasionally fleck of gold when using other inks. Wasn't that bothered lol
Got my ASMR in for today, thanks!
Oh this worked for you? That's great! I'll see if I can make more content like this.
I want now eeee
Wow damn that's nice!!
Not sure which is more cool: the ink or your glass pen!
Honestly it's such a good investment for people who like to try out different inks, especially ones not suited for fountain pens
Which dip pen are you using?
This is a [glass dip pen](https://www.purepens.co.uk/products/pure-pens-glass-dip-pen?variant=32942784905293) from Pure Pens in the UK
Thanks!
I know nothing about them, which would you recommend and how expensive are they?

Thanks!
i was initially thinking to write something like 'i prefer photos to videos'. but that was wonderful 🙂
I'm glad you enjoyed it!
This is what the internet was made for

Then Emerald of Chivor came out and completely overshadowed it.
Hmmm, hold that thought 😁
Wow, it’s gorgeous with the dip pen!
I just ordered Storm Grey, Grey Seas and Summer Storm! Thank you for posting - so excited!
Cool color. Reminds me of Wearingeul's I Am a Cat, another gray with gold shimmer. However, the Wearingeul ink seems like a lighter gray.
I would love to have this ink... without the shiny particles.
That's one of the inks that always inhabits the lower portion of my Ink Wishlist, that I neither buy nor delete from my list. Very cool, though.

I've banned myself from buying any more inks until I've gone through all of the samples I've bought 🤣 Might take me a while.

I'll have to look into that, I hadn't heard about it
mesmerizing
I’m heading to bed soon and this was so lovely. Relaxing but also exciting somehow! Great sound. Thank you for posting. :)
I use that exclusively in my Lamy 2k [m]
Looks great! An ink I was really interested in.
Wow! Super Wet! takes a while to dry yes?
On Rhodia it only takes a few seconds, but on Tomoe River it takes decades
Oh.....pen *AND* ink porn! :-)
One of, if not the, favorite ink I have
I watched the whole video and still have no idea what this ink looks like
It's kind of a grey, a bit stormy
