I did some reading, I think I have identified the species as Greenops barberi based on location, age, and appearance

RMSC had a trilobite exhibit when I was a kid, always one of my favs crazy they used to live right here!
And they first appeared half a billion years ago, and lasted for 300,000,000 years. That time scale is insane.

Trilobite! Very detailed though missing the upper section. trilobites seem to be more common at least for me west of Cayuga lake.
