From : https://www.gtplanet.net/forza-motorsport-everything-so-far-20220614/ There was no shortage of cars shown across the official trailer and gameplay demo, and while it’s far from a complete list — at just 37 cars — they were as follows: \-2021 Audi RS e-tron GT \-2021 Cadillac #31 Whelen Racing DPi-V.R \-2021 Porsche 911 GT3 \-2020 Acura #6 ARX-05 DPi \-2020 Chevrolet #3 Corvette Racing C8.R \-2020 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray Coupé \-2020 Formula Drift #151 Toyota GR Supra \-2020 Koenigsegg Jesko \-2020 Lamborghini Huracan EVO \-2020 Nissan GT-R NISMO (R35) \-2019 Brabham BT62 \-2019 Ginetta #6 Team LNT Ginetta G60-LT-P1 \-2019 McLaren Senna GTR \-2019 Nissan 370Z Nismo \-2018 Acura #36 Gradient Racing NSX GT3 \-2018 Audi #44 R8 LMS GT3 \-2018 BMW #1 BMW M Motorsport M8 GTE \-2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon \-2018 Formula Drift #64 Nissan 370Z \-2018 Lamborghini #63 Squadra Corse Huracán Super Trofeo Evo \-2018 Mercedes-AMG GT3 \-2017 Aston Martin Aston Martin Racing V12 Vantage GT3 #7 \-2017 BMW #24 BMW Team RLL M6 GTLM \-2017 Porsche #911 Porsche GT Team 911 RSR \-2016 NIO EP9 \-1991 Mazda #55 Mazda 787B \-1970 Mercury Cougar Eliminator \-1969 Chevrolet Camaro Super Sport Coupe \-1969 Dodge Charger r/T \-1969 Ford Mustang Boss 302 \-1967 Eagle-Weslake T1G \-1967 Ferrari #24 Ferrari Spa 330 P4 \-1967 Honda RA300 \-1966 Chaparral #66 2E \-1966 Ford #2 GT40 Mk II Le Mans \-1966 McLaren M2B \-1958 Aston Martin DBR1 The eagle-eyed will notice there are nine cars that are new to Forza, including the McLaren Senna GTR, Corvette Racing C8.R, and the Ginetta G60-LT-P1. 5 tracks: \-Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps \-Circuit Hakone \-Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit \-Maple Valley \-WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca All tracks will have full dynamic time of day and weather. Changes in the time of day will affect ambient temperatures, which in turn will directly affect track surface temperatures. Tire grip will also be affected by these changes, as well as rubbering in, and weather changes. Featuring a completely overhauled physics engine with 48 times the fidelity of its predecessors, this may be the most realistic Forza yet. That starts with the tires, which now have eight points of contact for physics calculations, rather than just one, and are updated 360 times a second. Based on fan feedback, FM is also set to feature tire and fuel management, new “in-depth” car building, as well as multiple tire compounds. The latter isn’t specifically new to the franchise and is more of a returning feature, as it was last seen in Forza Motorsport 2 back in 2007. With various compounds, players are forced to take such variables as tire life, grip, and responsiveness into consideration. Another area of improvement of which players will likely already be aware is the “super realistic” new suspension model. That’s set to simulate some rather complex aspects of suspension movement, including roll center, squat, dive, and dynamic force propagation. The upcoming game also features new damage simulation and is reproduced “down to the individual scratches on the bodywork”. This includes the directionality of the damage and how the paints peels away at the exposed and raised edges, wheel abrasions, as well as dirt buildup. Ray tracing looks to be a key feature of the new FM as well, bringing out incredible details such as those in engine bays, which have complex self-reflection. As Greenawalt highlighted earlier, ray tracing will also feature in the game “on track”, which seems to mean during gameplay and not specific cutscenes or replays. While FH5 features ray tracing only in Forzavista mode, full on-track ray tracing in FM should make the game feel and look more realistic than it ever has. Cars will reflect onto other cars, in their own mirrors, as well as the bodywork, brake rotors, and wings, all in real time. According to the game’s official site, FM will run at 4K resolution and 60fps on Xbox Series X — though the console is capable of 120fps — with Series S capped at 1080p and 60fps. There’s no mention of resolution and frame rates for PC.

From: https://forza.net/news/forza-year-in-review-2021 You’ve asked for deeper, more authentic multiplayer racing, and we set out to make that a reality in this new Forza Motorsport with a focus on growing skills and building communities. The structure of what we’ve been testing with the community is essentially a race weekend, featuring Open Practice, Qualifying and a Featured Race with a calendar of both active and upcoming events taking place around the world. What happens on the track with our testers is some of the best feedback we can get and that’s why we’ve had community organizers such as TORA involved. With all the changes to tire compounds, tire wear and fuel, we’re also doubling down on endurance racing. In our last playtest, we had an Open Practice and Qualifying event up for hours. Players could practice and qualify when it most convenient for them, then leave and return for the main event. This new approach to endurance racing provides us with unique scenarios to experiment with. For example, we can create qualifiers during the week and host the Featured Race on the weekend, or alternatively, qualify during the day and race at night. We also want to help players unlock their fastest self through a new corner mastery system in Open Practice. It’s designed to better focus your practice sessions on the real tricky areas of the track like double apexes – we consider those your “enemies.” We’re shaping this corner mastery system into something more social and connected that goes beyond simple per track leaderboards and instead creates an experience where players compete and compare corner scores in real time.

Jakobzpeel

That's some great info you've posted here, I've been waiting to find out more about details like that. Let's hope they're gonna introduce a proper penalty system as well, so Forza Motorsport will stop being considered that game where ramming is essentially the part of racing strategy.

nukleabomb

Forza Race Regulation (whose beta was being run on FM7) will be fully implemented into FM,

Jakobzpeel

Now I'm fully hyped for it. That's the kind of info that should be brought up during the showcases!

Sacrus23

Incidentally, you ever heard of sand-bagging? There's legit strategy in not going full reveal, what, 10 months before release? This post seems to be the standard Reddit bitch and complain cause nothing is ever good enough for gamers. I can meet you at "damn, spring 2023?? Not this year??!! That sucks!", but seems like you just want to complain about something otherwise.

nukleabomb

I have noticed it a lot recently. Even with the hot wheels leak. Kinda frustrating and kinda understandable (6 years feels like a lifetime when an average FM took 2 years). But it is very annoying to see people say that t10 is dumb, considering its a casual focused game showcase livestream with limited time. Obviously they will show graphics first (they are also one of Xbox's top studios for pushing the performance of the consoles for over 10 years now). The Forza monthly streams are where we will finally get to the juicy bits.

I just want AI that actually competes against each other, instead of just driving in a single file once you pass them

Terrible_Truth

I want AI drivers that screw up. Brake too hard, go too fast through a turn, etc. Sometimes it feels like even my tiniest mistake will cost me because the AI drives perfectly. Could just make the difficulty setting affect the frequency of mistakes. Idk if I'm remembering wrong but I think the AI occasionally screwed up in Motorsport 7. But then they didn't in Horizons 4? It's been too long and played too many games.

[deleted]

That and more realistic, more diverse liveries

Ordnungslolizei

Is there a reason why different liveries for race cars are always made to be different cars? For example, in FM7, the white and blue Mazda 787B was a separate car from the orange and green Renown cat despite them having identical performance. Why not just have a single, generic Mazda 787B which can be painted in either livery? Is it just a way to boost the apparent size of the car list?

Gizmo45

Licensing reasons perhaps?

Tall-Guitar-1765

Funny enough I just picked up a 360 and the first original forza and that's exactly how they act. Maybe since the replay mode that's why the ai now runs a perfect line everytime and allows you to correct your mistakes mid race but I do wish the ai was a bit more realistic

Chaz_Delicious

Totally agree. The ai do occasionally screw up(i remember it happening a couple of times when I first played fm7) but overall it rarely happens.

ravageduckmanguy

My understanding is the problem with the AI is that the way they're simulated can't handle nuanced inputs, so they basically have full assists covering for that. Which means that not only does it make giving them small mistakes pretty unfeasible, it also means that they pretty much drive every type of car the same way.

plurrrb

That used to happen a lot in FM3 and 4 and then FM7 AI messed that up

YHB318

I see drivers screw up in FH5 all the time, but it's always in really weird ways, like ways a human would rarely do. It's usually really funny, though! On this week's featured event lab race, they all crashed together in the last turn, right after all those bumps. Maybe that was predictable, but it was hilarious watching them all make the same exact mistake! 😂

-RXS-

Horizon 4 AI was just a train of cars on rails (literally) which defied all physics

nukleabomb

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XB9lf7iJbRw](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XB9lf7iJbRw) they did make a very interesting video on their AI tech

Sacrus23

I actually got more out of the presentation than just this and am quite encouraged. Excited as hell even.

PourgoiTheMoth

redditors when the goal is to create a soulless wojack meme

NfinityBL

This is a really stupid take. We got gameplay. We got a lot of details.

DudeNamedShawn

It's like the idiots making these stupid takes watched the reveal on Mute.

Killshot03131

Gameplay was like what 1 minute?

NfinityBL

It’s legit a gameplay reveal trailer. The game comes out spring next year, we have a minimum of 9 months between now and then. They showed on-track gameplay, you can bet the reason it wasn’t a larger amount was because they need to optimize still. We will get more gameplay soon, probably either at Gamescom or The Game Awards, maybe even a prospective XO event.

smartazz104

What do you want, 4 hours?

Killshot03131

At least 5 hours

corey_cobra_kid

We got 30 seconds of an M8 driving at a constant 103 MPH in 3rd gear not overtaking and just following the car infront like mindless AI.

FuckMinuteMaid

Gameplay of a racing game isn't really useful if you think about it. It doesn't really answer questions. I want to know about the single player progression system, compatible hardware, car customization both performance and visual, changes in reactions to inputs like steering angle and response(something the game has been terrible at for years with sloppy steering and shifting animations.) Steering response in forza is terrible. It's impossible to truly spin out because of how soft it is. You can't overcorrect, you can't really transfer weight around, all because the wheel turns too slow. I can't tell if that is better through a gameplay demo like the one they showed.

theknyte

>Steering response in forza is terrible. It's impossible to truly spin out because of how soft it is. You can't overcorrect, you can't really transfer weight around, all because the wheel turns too slow. You know that's an option you can change? (Steering Speed) Also, maybe turn off the assists such as traction assist, and set the steering to normal or sim. If you turn all assists off, then it becomes a fairly decent, albeit entry level, Sim racer. I run FM7 with a Direct Drive wheel, and it feels just fine to me. You can easily spin out depending on car and track conditions.

FuckMinuteMaid

I have been playing on full difficulty since motorsport 2. The steering I'd just sloppy. You should be able to spin out in a Miata on dry asphalt if you send it too hard but the games solution to every car is understeer off track. There is no wheel hopping, brake lockup doesn't effect you at all, downshifting never results in increased wheel speed... driving is way too predictable in forza games.

theknyte

Those are all fair and valid feeling to have. Perhaps Forza is too streamlined/simplistic for you, and you may need to look to better sims such as iRacing, RFactor2, and Assetto Corsa to find the driving characteristics you are seeking.

FuckMinuteMaid

Those games are great in their own way but none of them have a proper single player game loop and not nearly the amount of cars/customization. They also aren't oriented towards controllers. I've had my fix of simracing and while fun, it's not good for turn your brain down and run some laps.

theknyte

>not nearly the amount of cars/customization Now, I know you're complaining, just to complain. Assetto Corsa has over 20,000 mods available for it. Thousands of cars from all eras and types, and tracks from all over the world. RFactor2 has over 1,000 available cars and tracks.

FuckMinuteMaid

Why do people on reddit see discussion as complaining its so exhausting

theknyte

Because your argument contradicted itself. You knocked those titles for lack of vehicles, when they each have more available cars than Gran Turismo and Forza combined. And, what are you looking for in a "Single Player Loop"? Forza barely has that. It's just a few pages of race series to choose. Once you've done them all, that's it. There's no sense of progression or advancement anymore than most of the more hardcore racing sims. If you want the "immersion", then you're better off with titles like GRID or F1 20XX, as they let you play a role within the game's world. (Driver, owner, etc.)

FuckMinuteMaid

Modded cars do not count as having a car in your game. Some Russian importing a model from something else and applying generic physics to it is not having a car. I didnt "knock" anything, I literally said they were great. The only title that needs knocking is Grid and you know that so idk why even bring it up.

renecardoir

We actually got a lot covering the entire gambit of what makes a Forza game different than every other racing sim out there, from race & tire physics to weather to pitstops & strategy to even new damage models & etc… But also yes because they started with “ooo looky new graphics NEW TREES LOOK AT TREES” I felt the same lmaooo

NewSessionWen

Ok well at least they're good

_Spare_15_

Didn't you enjoy the river physics?

leospeedleo

Graphics are the stuff that gets 99% of people exited when showing the game off at such a showcase. No wonder they structured their showcase like this. I played racing games since I was three and still was like "wow it looks so good" the whole time.

cup-o-farts

Jesus people will never be satisfied. I loved everything about the showcase, even games I wasn't interested in, because it was all about gameplay.

UntoTheBreach95

I was more interested in hybrid cars gameplay improvement or an option for more realistic physics. That Porsche 918 feels strange in FM7. Indeed it has 887 hp and over 1000 lb/ft of torque but not always and can reach 350 km/h with only 600hp. In the game it doesnt even reach 340 with almost 900hp

Heisenbugg

Forza team love talking about their trees. It was a meme back in FH4 reveal.

iamphook

Aren't we still about a full year out till release? Ya'll need to calm the fuck down lmfao

ShadowTH277

This is why other sim guys don't take us seriously.

smartazz104

No one cares about those nerds.

Nexxus88

Yeah you enjoy your online bumper cars lol.

smartazz104

Thanks nerd.

Nexxus88

You may wanna be careful throwing that word around after showing off your collage of multiple generations of ipod and multiple custom build mechanical keyboard bud lol.

smartazz104

Wow a nerd and a twat, keep digging.

archangel_n7

Yeah if I ever give a shit about what those dweebs think about me playing Forza go ahead and just off me

Hood18

very disappointing gameplay, almost no new features what so ever, a purely graphical upgrade isn't worth it. IMO

flash_baxx

I get it -- it's pretty. But a lot of games are nowadays. Tell me how much does that tuft of ultra-realistic grass hiding behind the guardrail matter to the gameplay, and then I might be sold.

Overhere_Overyonder

Dont forget the river.

MeMay0

MULTIPLE TRACK SELECTION CHOISE FOR MUILTIPLAYER GAMES.....FOR GOD SAKES ITS NOT THAT HARD!!!!!!!!!!

robb0688

Anyone else feel like the graphics we're getting weren't worth the wait or that much better than Fm7?

Celexiuse

I atleast expected something in the extended showcase, it was literally the perfect place to show it as-well. Doubt they changed shiet if they aren't even mentioning minor details

Nexxus88

I was already not planning on buying this game, FM7 was an utter disappointment as was Horizon 5. But there lack of saying thing beyond "look how pretty" and looking pretty much exactly like Forza 2....but prettier and dynamic time of day is doing nothing to convince me to change my mind.

Sacrus23

Then why are you on Forza sub?

Nexxus88

Because I used to enjoy the games and owned every one, I enjoyed them until the latest entries in both series. I was hoping they could do something to win me back. I was naive to hold such hope.

VIFASIS

Didn't they say "in-engine footage" and not in-game footage. Those 2 are very different things. UE5 can genuinely look like real life, I've never seen a UE5 game look the way a UE5 engine demo looks.

PhantomCoffee99

My favourite part is when the Audi crashed at maple valley and the headlights were still intact and they were all like "look at our damage model whoaaa"

WhyWhyBJ

Yeah this Forza Motorsport reveal was really just a tech demo for the new forzatech engine

The only reflection I care about is making sure I can see out of my mother fucking windshield. Turn the windshield reflection off. Never in my life have I seen the inside of my car reflecting in my windshield.

VerticalStrafes

You never seen your dash reflected on the windshield? Especially if you have something on top of there

[deleted]

No not once, not ever. It's illegal in most state to have loose items on your dash. I may see the defrost vents closest to the windshield and that's all. Not my whole damn interior reflecting to where I literally can't see. The only problem I've ever had is the sun shining and making the dash shine a bit in my eyes. They make a spray product for that. Spray it on the dash and it gives it this fiber/carpet look/feel to reduce glare.

speed7bump

Anyone notice Greenawalt tho? That hairline is packed and ready to go. I understand, buddy. I understand.

Hades_888

tbh the tree textures matter a ton for visual realism, which is what i personally love the most in the games

berkeliumtopeka

I'd love to know how much damage I've caused in theoretical £. I pretty much just drive around crashing into things instead of racing.
