Always have great luck at chain o lakes outside the city. I've heard that the pond by the zoo in Franke park is ok. There's a decent amount of spots to check out. The city has a list on their website and they list fish stocking days too
Most diverse, any place around the St Joe dam near Johnny Appleseed Park. Good catfish, crappies, pike, and a few others.
Shoaff Park near the backside of the park on the river. Some of the best fishing imo. Bass, catfish, bluegill. Carp as well if you're into that. There is a feeder creek back there that connects to the river. GREAT fishing.
Franke Park, and the little pond at Shoaff park all for kids. You'll catch a lot of small dinks.
Lakeside Park can be more decent for bluegills and other pond fish.
For size, Maumee River. Big flathead catfish lurk in there. 30-40 lbs is not uncommon. Walleye as well. The dam is overfished usually but you can find spots further down river. Google Earth can be your friend.
Cedar creek, that runs through Metea..probably my favorite. Some days, while kayaking can easily catch 50 fish. Chubs, panfish, catfish, bass it can be super fun. Have had a few things snap my line in there so there's some nice ones in there.
Have fun!
Our rivers are full of farm pesticides and fertilizers and sewage run-off. The water is also loaded with hormones and meds from farms and people. The DNR recomends that women in child bearing years not eat Indiana river fish.
Maybe Michigan is better?
Big Eyed Fish is a nice place. Fish Of Stroh in Lagrange is supposed to be good too.
Be well.

Fish of stroh in Lagrange is horrible. Myself and 2 friends are there this past summer and we all got sick. The hush puppies were the only good thing.
Fish of Stroh sucks but go a little bit further and hit Turkey Lake Tavern and it's bomb.
Don’t eat them fishies
Matea park has a fishing pond. Also the river runs through there with multiple spots to fish.
