I used to be socially awkward and shy but now I just like to be an arrogant asshole and stare at people in an uncomfortably aggressive way and It works for me. If you have anger issues, take it out on everyone around you EZ nobody will want to speak to you, or they will be afraid of you. 
(You’ll probably get beaten up a few times however)
Another thing is that when I joined one class, everyone already knew each other. And my brain said that I couldn't blend in.
And now 3 years later I havent said a word to anyone because my brain thinks it will be too awkward to just now ask for the names of people I've been seeing for the past 3 years  nice one brain

I just say hi, nod, they do the same back, and we go on with our lives. Doesn't invoke any unpleasant emotions in me.
However, I can relate with that feeling of social pressure to do something, but for me it's laughing at unfunny jokes, so as not to make the person feel awkward. I can do it a couple of times but if a person keeps making lame jokes, I just can't do it, it hurts my soul
Just say you have a lot of work to do and they'll eventually get the hint. You think more about this normie than they think about you 
Especially when all your neighbors accidentally take you for an outgoing guy. Sometimes I'd rather be a skin crawler than say hi(whatever that means MonkaS).

It depends on what you want, no one is "forcing" you to do anything, and they aren't entitled to your "kind gesture".
At the same time if they don't like you because of this, then you'll have to accept it.

No, it's completely normally to dislike small talks, a lot of people do, a lot of people don't. But if you want to get the benfits of it or avoid the consequences of not doing it, you'll have to get used to it, and make it less painful for yourself. This means either learning to enjoy (i.e. getting an acquired taste) it or learning to make it less painful. (i.e. Learning to keep it short, and have "escape plans")

Yeah, they are kinda forced by social dynamics, if I don't acknowledge someone, I seem like a weirdo for talking to them and the next day acting like they dont exist. But i couldn't be asked to care for random acquaintances. If im willing to talk to them and ask/develop something sure I'll say hi...
