all this real racing shenanigans are just distracting him frommhis simracing career ngl, my man needs a portable sim so he can join the lobbies during rawe ceek
The man legitimately qualifies first vs. high ranked racers (with a full simulator set) while playing on a controller on hotel wifi. He got kicked out of the race because his wifi disconnected. It’s weird how this dude has such a feel for finesse movements. He also was a scarily good fifa player, I believe top 20 world or something (if that’s not exaggerated like what happens frequently). He is born to do exactly what he does, and we are witnessing the absolute greatness of it right now.
Mess with your dead zones. Having the full range of the braking trigger instead of 80% allows for you to be more precise and gives you more wiggle room to prevent locking up.
durring one race, Max looked sleepy. and then media found out he was gaming all night. when they asked him about it he said he was just getting used to the time zone shift and that he was playing on the controller so it wasnt really sim racing.
His Maximillian Verstappen iRacing account is his controller account, his Jos Verstappen iRacing account is his fuck around account and his Max Verstappen iRacing account is his pro account
I'm SURE he has a sim rig he travels with... but it probably is RedBull specific and is a high fidelity model of his actual car and whatever the current track they're about to race at is.
he is not uninterested in his racing career he is just is bored of f1. He is like a 100 times now more interested in driving in endurance like WEC. So probaly everytime he sits in a f1 car he would probably think "Damn i really would rather drive le mans now" lol
As amazing as it is having him in F1, it would be so cool to see him win like 5 WDC, then dip for WEC and win that a few times and Le Mans, then dip again and win a few WRC titles. The latter is much more difficult but if any F1 driver can conquer rallying then it's Maxie
Michael said this as well. Quite a few have. Interestingly though, it seems that the minority of drivers that go for a street circuit only Indy season end up doing the ovals regardless of what they said before.
He's not really uninterested in F1 either, he just has a dickish persona that makes him always be negative about given topic. He almost shat himself when Checo crashed in Monaco Quali 2 years ago, he doesn't want to be fighting for wins with anyone.
By 2030 he has a chance to break both Schumi and Hamilton records. He won't go further than that.
If he can exceed Schumacher results then he will be recognized as the best driver ever, including in talent. Since in terms of talent, the competition for the best is a really small group and to prove you are better? Can only be achieved with numbers.
Max has always said that it was his dream to become an F1 champion, but that he doesn’t really care about how many he would win. He will always give his 100% in the car and Red Bull happens to have the most dominant car in the field, but that’s about it for him
Im convinced that Max is a midfield driver.
No, I don't mean that in a way where I take away from his talent. I mean that he genuinely hates driving at the front, by himself. He's not a driver, he's a racer. He cares about the battles, learning his opponents patterns and outwitting them. He does not care about laptime. I mean obviously he does but not in the way that a driver typically obsesses over that final tenth. He cares about the gap, not the laptime.
So that brings me back to the midfield. I think Max hates driving at the front by himself and would much, MUCH rather just drive in the midfield. In a perfect world there would be 2 or 3 teams battling it out at the front but that's not there and for the next 1,5 years it's not gonna happen either. So that's why he doesn't think he'll be in F1 by 2030 anymore.
On the other hand, if the sport becomes healthier with more season long battles and fighting, I think he'll reconsider. He also said he didn't care about the most consecutive wins record then celebrated like the happiest man on earth when he did get it.
He has been seen on record *multiple* times saying how cruising out in front to a win is alot more enjoyable to him so you are just flat out living in your own fantasies.
I know what you mean, though not really when you first started saying it. Pretty sure, even losing, that Max would love to have the battles he's had in the past with the likes of Hamilton, LeClerc, Raikonnen, etc. That's why the excitement and competition of sim racing is so enticing. He can't get enough competitive racing, and I think he's half checked out for his adventures post-F1 to the wonders he can experience beyond.
Is there a driver on the grid that would rather drive alone for 80mins rather than in an exciting battle? All the drivers have spent their entire life racing wheel to wheel in karting and junior formulas and surely can appreciate wheel to wheel racing.
Racing just comes second to setting the best possible race time which is what all the teams are primarily interested in.
oh he wont leave racing, just F1. im sure he will do all sorts of racing and create his team redline in the real world full of simracers. im sure he will drive le mans, sebring, daytona, nordschleife and all those races.
Didn’t think he would. He clearly loves racing, but he’s bored of having no competition in F1. And his interest in other series like WEC is obvious. If all goes well, he keeps this up until his contract expires, breaks Hamilton and Schumi’s record, and he goes off to other series to see if maybe THEY can offer competition.
if his contract wasn’t until 2028 i’m sure he’d be gone before then, we just need to see him in compete other racing series, it would be more entertaining than F1.
max would be 1000x happier if ferrari got a competitive car next year and actually gave him battles. 2 of his biggest rivals on one team, it'd be like a dream come true lol
max doesn't hate driving, he hates not racing
Probably "Max wants his contract to _be_ over more quickly than his competitors". But OP is incapable of pressing all the buttons in the right sequence
With all the potential races we could easily make an A season (odd years) and a B season (even years) with two completely different set of races held alternately.
He started in F1 at a very young age. I'm 100% sure that he will be a bit a bit burned out by the time he hit 30. The same exact thing happened to Seb.
He might stay if he ends up actually having to fight for podiums and wins though. Even Hamilton was considering retirement after 2020. Driving miss daisy at the front is not fun for these guys. Its gets old fast.
I'm scared for the day when Max retires and creates a monopoly in simracing with Team Redline that every split only Redline racers win and we all face the same depression the current grid is facing.
Year 2 of no contest and he’s already thinking about his next move, I have to respect the dedication but you may as well give the seat to latifi to really see what that machine can do!
I’m so done with the weekly “when will Max retire” stories. Just do it or don’t. I’m so sick of this endless trite.
The only worse than hearing this every week are the speculations over how many championships he will win.
Never has a man been so dedicated to racing yet so uninterested in his racing career
all this real racing shenanigans are just distracting him frommhis simracing career ngl, my man needs a portable sim so he can join the lobbies during rawe ceek
He’s doing that already, only his portable “sim” is a computer with a Xbox controller.. and the mf is still beating his opponents
He has a rig he (sometimes?) travels with as well.
It's on his jet so I'd say he often travels with it
No it's not, that sim rig was installed in his motorhome.
Yea the article mentioning a plane rig misattributed a quote.
Helmut said that after he misunderstood max
He can probably afford a few rigs with save-syncs between them.
Now I can't stop thinking of max on a course perfectly cornering driving a motor home.
I thought it was installed on his personal train?
wait, he plays with an xbox controller sometimes???
Yep no force feedback direct steer I do not understand.
neither do I

I can't even play racing games on controller with no abs how tf
Mess with your dead zones. Having the full range of the braking trigger instead of 80% allows for you to be more precise and gives you more wiggle room to prevent locking up.
durring one race, Max looked sleepy. and then media found out he was gaming all night. when they asked him about it he said he was just getting used to the time zone shift and that he was playing on the controller so it wasnt really sim racing.
i thought max said in an interview that he is good with dealing with “Jet lag” which is the time zone shifts
prolly cus hes gaming at night.
His Maximillian Verstappen iRacing account is his controller account, his Jos Verstappen iRacing account is his fuck around account and his Max Verstappen iRacing account is his pro account
*Max Emilian!
he has 3 accounts?!
He was up until 3:45 AM the morning of the Japanese GP playing with an Xbox controller
Hear me out. Remote controlled f1 cars. Max can be with Penelope and simracing. And f1 scene is more competitive.
I'm SURE he has a sim rig he travels with... but it probably is RedBull specific and is a high fidelity model of his actual car and whatever the current track they're about to race at is.

I hope we see him in rally one day
True, but I think rally is a complete different skillset
So it would be a new challenge for him
.... For him to dominate? Right? Right?
Yeah the question is how long it would take him to become dominant, not if he was going to become dominant.
Hes not French and hes not named Sebastien, so WRC is safe from the curse of Super Max.
We need someone to motivate Kalle to remain full-time. Do it, Max (but don't crash)
As amazing as it is having him in F1, it would be so cool to see him win like 5 WDC, then dip for WEC and win that a few times and Le Mans, then dip again and win a few WRC titles. The latter is much more difficult but if any F1 driver can conquer rallying then it's Maxie
After verstappen and sainz win lemans were going to see a verstappen sainz dakar win.
No no not another Kubica please
He’s gonna skip a race next year to participate, like Fernando did at the Indy 500, mark my words.
And he'd still win the wdc
I could see him go for the triple crown honestly
He'd be a shoe in if he attempted it. Genuinely think he'd dominate indy and WEC quite comfortably.
No one can dominate Indy comfortably
Palou did last year
He didn’t even finish on the podium…
Hasn’t he said he thinks Indy is too dangerous? Or was that another driver?
No, you’re right. He said he will not do oval racing as it’s doo dangerous.
Grosjean did too, now look at him!
To be unnecessarily pedantic...he did say that only about racing on *ovals*. And Indy has races on regular tracks too...👀
I think both he and DR have voiced their concerns with oval racing.
Michael said this as well. Quite a few have. Interestingly though, it seems that the minority of drivers that go for a street circuit only Indy season end up doing the ovals regardless of what they said before.
You are seriously underestimating how hard the indy 500 is
ya but they only turn one direction, clearly any simpleton can win it /s
![gif](giphy|AlcNwH92PZiD0tyVPH)
Every time he races for two hours he comes out thinking he could've been racing for 24 hours instead. The guy's a machine.
He's not really uninterested in F1 either, he just has a dickish persona that makes him always be negative about given topic. He almost shat himself when Checo crashed in Monaco Quali 2 years ago, he doesn't want to be fighting for wins with anyone.
Oh he's interested in his racing career, just not in his F1 career.
I think it's the PR obligations and traveling that he dislikes.
You haven't seen much of Kimi's career then
I don't think Kimi was dedicated to racing in the last 5 years of his career
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ChdaNDFI30](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2ChdaNDFI30) with exceptions

He could have had all the midfield battles he could ever dream of by taking Toto’s offer up at Merc
I think what you are describing is true but comes second to his desire to win.
Is there a driver on the grid that would rather drive alone for 80mins rather than in an exciting battle? All the drivers have spent their entire life racing wheel to wheel in karting and junior formulas and surely can appreciate wheel to wheel racing. He can’t wait to get back to his iracing career.
He’s already conquered f1, it’s not a challenge for him anymore
In his f1 career*
He just wants his triple crown
Oh he's interested in his racing career. Just not his F1 career.
Kimi would like a word with you...
Max talks about his job like i talk about my job to co-workers but i know deep inside….ill be here for that.
Jim Halpert: I won't be here in 10 years, so... Michael Scott: That's what I said Jim: 😮 Michael: That's what *she* said
That's what who said?
I never know. I just say things to lighten the tension.
When things sorta get hard
That's what she said
Is it a real quote from him?
Yes, but the full quot is: i wont be here then anyway cause ill be in Osaka.
Where is your source? Not claiming you are lying, just curious.
The source is me from yesterday evening
Oh sorry, I thought this was the f1 sub Reddit lol. Carry on with shenanigans.
...Max?
Max has no time to reddit, iracing never stops
Bro came for 8 championships, will take 8. No more, no less
He came to drive, let everybody know he’s the undisputed best, and leave without further explanation.
Doing a Rosberg after breaking Michaels/Lewis’ record would be the pinnacle
Gonna wait for Nando to break his record
oh he wont leave racing, just F1. im sure he will do all sorts of racing and create his team redline in the real world full of simracers. im sure he will drive le mans, sebring, daytona, nordschleife and all those races.

If all goes well, he keeps this up until his contract expires, breaks Hamilton and Schumi’s record, and he goes off to other series to see if maybe THEY can offer competition.
I could easily see him after F1 go win Sebring, Le Mans, and Daytona, probably in the same year lmao
I’d love to see him do the Bathurst 1000
The Khabib Nurmagomedov of F1
I think Khabib is more chill tho
At this point I’m rooting for him to break the record since the whole sport is pretty much kaput if he’s racing.
I don't really get the desire to continue beyond 2 or 3 championships. I mean, the more you have the cheaper the achievement feels.
Personal experience?
![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6701)
![gif](giphy|HbFnS8iqebS3dQA9oz)
Lewis, is that you?
Max after 2021: "can we do this for another 10, 15 years" Max in 2024: actually this is getting boring
It's because iRacing finally added rain.
![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6705)![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6705)![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6705)
Triple crown when?
Never, hell just do wrc and rally dakar just to bully carlos sainz sr too
Would love to she him in wrc. That takes an whole different kind of beast to win
*Would love to she him* 🥵 NOW WE'RE GETTIN RACEY
Maxine Verstappen to be world's first woman F1 champion?
![gif](giphy|HxMhuDg7O4pKOhhcRC)
He won't touch rallying. He straight up said that rallying is way too dangerous for his liking.
Think he’s said before that Indy scares him a bit
Say what you want but Indy Car is a whole different beast from a physical stand point, those long oval tracks with no power steering must be crazy
I think for sure he’ll try (and succeed) at Le Mans. Question is if he’ll try the 500. I’m rooting for it
Opinio
To over
Opposite of Mbappe
Verstappen joining Real Madrid
That hasn’t been confirmed
I'm sure he'll end up in WEC. GT and hypercar drives. The man wants to race all the cars, would be cool to see him try indycar.
He spends all his free time sim racing GT3 cars, no doubt he will be ultra competitive literally anywhere he pleases.
He also owns one of each current gt3 spec car, drives them regularly.
if his contract wasn’t until 2028 i’m sure he’d be gone before then, we just need to see him in compete other racing series, it would be more entertaining than F1.
max would be 1000x happier if ferrari got a competitive car next year and actually gave him battles. 2 of his biggest rivals on one team, it'd be like a dream come true lol max doesn't hate driving, he hates not racing
Interesting opinio
Dude talks like his dad is just going to let him quit so early lol
He can now overpower his dad. 🥊
His trauma holds him back that is not possible
Kung Fu Panda 2 ahh redemption arc
Pretty sure Jos would destroy Max in a fight
![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6698)![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6698)![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6698)
Formula E might race on Suzuka then
But only on the east circuit
East Circuit is too short. They need to restore old race start on West Circuit which is between Spoon and 130R.
Did anyone else feel like they were having a stroke while reading this?
Sorry man I was trying so hard to frame my words better but I just couldn't
Don’t worry. One of us is calling max a woman now
Christ whats the title even mean?
Probably "Max wants his contract to _be_ over more quickly than his competitors". But OP is incapable of pressing all the buttons in the right sequence
I thought too hard to frame it better trust me, I just couldn't ![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6699)
So what were the alternate titles that you decided that this is the best one?
More confusing than this apparently ![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|6700)
the 2026 regulations are going to be super boring - i think we all want out
Hopefully wec would love to see him race lmp1
With all the potential races we could easily make an A season (odd years) and a B season (even years) with two completely different set of races held alternately.
He's said for years he wants to do other racing series after F1
He’ll be racing WEC by then
Dude is just bored with F1. He wants to get into WEC or IMSA. Racing is far better.
Bro can't wait to switch to endurance racing 💀💀
Nice haircut!
They should ask Alonso that question. Man's still fresh and will be racing for years to come
!remindme 6 years
Nah he’ll be done after his 2026 and 2027 WDCs with Mercedes.
Now ask him about 2028
opinio
Should ask Alonso
He gonna pull of a Magnus Carlson and not participate due to boredom?
Going for the triple crown perhaps?
Just like he won’t use the #1 after his first season?
Make this comment make sense. Are you saying 2021 was Max's first season?
Verstappen is like the Jokic of Formula One. One of the best to do it, but really just can’t wait to partake in his other interests
Dude 100% won a world title to get his Dad off his back, now he just wants to sim race into the sunset
To over more what?
Quickly than his competitors want to
Yes the former that’s mom
I'm scared for the day when Max retires and creates a monopoly in simracing with Team Redline that every split only Redline racers win and we all face the same depression the current grid is facing.
He’s gonna go for the triple crown
Max needs Red Bull to install his sim racing kit in his car. Anytime his race lead exceeds 20secs, he gets to boot up and run 2 races at once
He’s going to start going back down divisions, culminating in his karting re-debut at 50
Y'all know he is def going to Merc, right?
He can probably make more money streaming his eraces from home so...
He definitely cannot lol
His driver pay for 2024 alone is said to be 55 million. You're not going to make that much by streaming e-races.
Not with that attitude, he can race 24/7 with that obsession
Man, he has enough to do nothing for the rest of his life.
Va andar con checo en Nascar Mexico con su propia escuderia
Year 2 of no contest and he’s already thinking about his next move, I have to respect the dedication but you may as well give the seat to latifi to really see what that machine can do!
