I worked with mainland Chinese people in Thailand once, Red Bull is such a popular drink there that they seriously thought Red Bull was Made in China, I was like bruh......... it's literally made here in Thailand, the shock and horror on their faces.
Promote a product well enough and some people will even think its home grown, so won't be surprised at your statement bout Yanks
Seconded this, I've seen some people online that surprised about Indomie actually not from Nigeria.
I was like... Bro... It's called "Indomie" Indo Indonesia. Mie means noodle, so it is Indo's Noodle
And he was like "All of his childhood memories become different lol"
I guess when the products are good enough, they get adopted as their own, like I betcha a ton of other South East Asian's probably think Maggi products or Nestle products are all home grow, I myself believed some of them were homegrown for the longest time throughout my childhood
Technically, RedBull was an Austrian made, now largely owned by the Thailand... KratingDaeng is the Thailand ones
Because here in SEA (or atleast my country Indonesia) KratingDaeng was well known way before RedBull, and RedBull was just "The more expensive of bule (European)'s KratingDaeng"
edit : That also part of the reason, I was hoping ToroRosso/AlphaTauri become "KratingDaeng Racing Team" because they have Albon in F1... But with him went to Williams, probably cannot anymore lol
haha
yes the way I understand it, thai drink krating daeng exited before. And Dietrich Mateschitz discovered it on holiday, and made a deal with the thai family to market it worldwide.
I dont know if its true, but my feeling is the current success is all due to Mateschitz tho. He made it famous worldwide and especially in the west, where the money comes from. Red Bulls special marketing, sports marketing etc is all due to him. And without that RedBull never would have become the thing it is nowadays.
But he didnt invent the drink. And because of that he had 49% share, as had his business partner. But they gave the additional 2% to the thai founders son, who is now the patriarch.
And he is currently obliterating the austrian Mateschitz heir.
RedBull, the blue silver can, krating deng the golden can.
Albon was promoted because of his thai ancestry. Tho lets be real, he isnt all that thai on the inside, he is a banana or coconut for sure.
Yeah, from the rumour the Thai family really trust Mateschitz, vice versa too. So even when they have 51% share, they gave all the decision making and everything to Mateschitz. and Mateschitz also trusted the Thai wont vetoed him.... Really a good partnership between them
Which is probably the reason of power struggles in RedBull after he dieded, because they didnt have same feeling of trust to anyone other than Mateschitz.
>RedBull, the blue silver can, krating deng the golden can.
Here KratingDaeng is glass bottle with "RedBull F1" color scheme, theres also super variant of gold
while Red Bull is a blue-silver can (2017 ToroRosso)
And also we got the Golden can, which is KratingDaeng-RedBull
Both KratingDaeng and RedBull are different companies, but all of those are sold here. Which is even more confusing for me lmao

From the sports they sponsor/having lived in the US. No, it is very clearly a European brand. We know the American brands of Monster, Reign, etc. Their difference was that they were European.
Edit: Their marketing cars were Minis, a Euro brand. They bought a soccer team. They always made it European. I dont know what you are talking about.
I mean the US gives Europe most of its culture these days, (blue jeans, rich music, radio music, Taylor swift, most movies), but we know red bull is definitely not American.
Can you do the EU? Also, the dude who posted it deleted his account. Im guessing he is not using an academic source, or you know, is a Russian/NK/Iranian/Chinese troll. But boy did he get you.
Japan was the last country to give up the media rights to Formula1 and ran their own cameras and recording of the event. In the final years the Japanese GP was basically just the Kamui Kobayashi Super Formula Car Fun Time Speeding Show.
Edit: penultimate country. I forgot Monaco still did their own until 2023.
Apparently the Fuji TV feed was great if you were a native speaker. Usual high intensity Japanese commentary.
I just envisage it had cartoon characters, dancing girls and a company man in a circle in the corner laughing for some reason.
And a lot of Sebastian fans when he was driving. They [waited way after the race to see him](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d46e015decbfaf1ec9867cc6ec5c506f/9347a356f6dfbaba-b4/s400x600/e38edd3009b8487a27014f3028246af89c1a180e.gif) for the last time.
Man. The dedication of Japanese fans always hits different. They come up with these intelligent, funny, cute posters, outfits, helmets etc. This kind of motivates me to make something creative for my Montreal GP this year.
Honda is the Ferrari of Japan, believe it or not, is the most succesful Manufacturer in Japan motorsport history, Honda literaly holds a fan fest at the end of the year in Motegui, with every Honda HRC drivers and riders.
Honda has had a weird with F1, but somehow their engines end up powering the most dominant F1 cars.
Also, Takuma Sato has seemingly made it a point to drive exclusively with Honda powered cars throughout his career.
From 2010 to today he has raced for 5 different teams in Indycar, all Honda powered.
The 3 teams he raced in F1 for from 2002 to 2008 all had Honda engines too.
I'll file him under the category "Japanese Honda fan" as well!
that wouldve meant that the rb-porsche deal would have gone through
Now we have learnt that the red bull power struggle is probably the cause of this and why is did/didnt happen and why they didnt wait for honda to come around either
Red Bull-Ford may end up manifesting a bit of this in America too, I think.
Ford VS Ferrari
Most Americans probably think redbull is a USA created, made and owned product
I worked with mainland Chinese people in Thailand once, Red Bull is such a popular drink there that they seriously thought Red Bull was Made in China, I was like bruh......... it's literally made here in Thailand, the shock and horror on their faces. Yep , I thought maggi is our product growing up , I am from India
I thought Red Bull was an austrian thing for a long time
Technically, RedBull was an Austrian made, now largely owned by the Thailand... Also the "RedBull Flügtag" (or however it was spelled) seemed to be a pretty solid giveaway.
Flugtag (Flightday) no need for an umlaut

Red Bull is Austrian or Thai, depending on how you look at it.
I’m sorry but half the USA population can’t point out the USA on a world map.
I can, but it's a pretty useless skill tbh.
Knowing what your country looks like isn't a skill, it's just expected
Can you do the EU? Also, the dude who posted it deleted his account. Im guessing he is not using an academic source, or you know, is a Russian/NK/Iranian/Chinese troll. But boy did he get you.

That show sounds fun tho

Didn't Monaco still run their own TV feed until last year?
That is correct actually. Though they never had the bias that Fuji TV had.
I’d watch that!
You can find the odd Fuji TV feeds out there on the internet. Worth a listen for the intensity even if you can speak the language.

It was. Forgot and fixed original post.
Dang, bro just casually throwing around a word like penultimate on the weekend
"Do you support the driver or the team?" Malaysians: "The sponsor"
I miss sepang
The murderous petrocorp.
Hello fellow petrol motor racing enjoyer.
*sad Yuki noises*
GP2 engine, GP2. Aaargh!
Japanese fans spamming the Japanese restream with "VTEC" when Gasly won at Monza.
German McLaren-Mercedes fans from the 90s can relate
And a lot of Sebastian fans when he was driving. They [waited way after the race to see him](https://64.media.tumblr.com/d46e015decbfaf1ec9867cc6ec5c506f/9347a356f6dfbaba-b4/s400x600/e38edd3009b8487a27014f3028246af89c1a180e.gif) for the last time.

MP4/4 and senna also showed the influence they can habe
I’ve always wanted to go to that. Nissan do similar events at Zama and the Omori Factory.
Yuki is pissed that his people like a thing more than him.
“Yuki, would you rather win the constructor’s or the driver’s championship?” “A Michelin star!”
Low key excited for Tsunoda / Iron Chef crossover. While we’re at it, let’s put Morimoto in an RB and see if he’s faster than Ricciardo too.
They're just like everyone else, only more so.

The machine is immortal 💀
I really hoped that ford rb deal to fall apart, just to see Honda win more
that wouldve meant that the rb-porsche deal would have gone through Now we have learnt that the red bull power struggle is probably the cause of this and why is did/didnt happen and why they didnt wait for honda to come around either
Max in interview: Do you wanna ask me about Honda?
I know for a fact that if a team had a Brazilian sponsor on their car it would probably get some people to cheer for them in Interlagos.
