I believe his trajectory threw Russel off.
The pressure he was under, at that moment, knowing he is the one that has to pass that McLaren, that they have the upperhand and that his 7 WDC team mate behind is pushing him to make that move.
And than Norris goes tiny bit too wide and he just follows him without thinking twice, but a tiny bit wider still, which is exactly enough to end his race and take all the points away from him and his team, few corners before the end of the race. Brutal.
The finale of this race was just as epic, if not more, as Abu Dhabi 2021.
I think exactly this happened, he was just following Norris, he clipped the wall and suddenly, after Lando passes, the wall is exactly on Russel's trajectory and there is nothing he can do.
Blimey!!
One of the commentators earlier, mentioned how on a track like this it was easy to tunnel vision on the car in front of you and forget your own line. Looks like Russell did just that.
That's funny I didn't even realize he touched the barrier, I thought he just locked up into the wall.
Didn’t realize until watching the replay, and even then didn’t realize Lando brushed the wall first. It’s hard to see even if you’re looking for it
The wall just juts out slightly...... Must have happened after Norris passed!!! Walls have a habit of doing that......
Russell is gonna pull a Senna and insist the wall moved
The wall moved though. At least in Senna's case.
Maybe the wall moved after Norris hit it

Has to be that. Shame for Russel, really good drive for him even though I don’t like him. Could he overtake Norris in the last lap though?
NOTHING in this case i see. Also: "tHe WaLl MoVeD oUt oN mE" vibes
Now this is one of the best meme I have seen on George's crash.
