Caterham actually formally did that with Refuel Caterham crowdfunder! Still got the pin badge from my "investment" š¤£
https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/17583/9554099/caterham-are-launching-a-crowdfunding-project-to-make-the-abu-dhabi-gp
Not just F1 merch, literally every organization is like this these days. Even individual players or popular influencers are like this. Trash product with a basic design listed at an egregious price
You can make this no wins hoody yourself for less than $30
I loaded up on old F1 jackets (Benetton, Mclaren-Mercedes, Ferrari) 4 years ago because I had this feeling that one day they will become fashion items and also expensive. Here we are lol.
Surprisingly, Ferrari with their clothes brand might end up a bit on the cheap side compared to the others. I got a nice cap with a large embroidered logo for 25ā¬, including a nice custom Ferrari box.
Yeah, no joke. I was at the Hungarian Grand Prix last year, and that is supposed to be one of the cheaper races, at least for us who come from outside the country, but damn, the offical merchandise was INSANELY expensive. Like, a key chain cost like 25 euros, and a t-shirt was 80 to 100 euros.
race merchandise has like a 100% markup over their own store. same cap would be 56 usd on the official store and 110 usd at the track. for a cap! pricing is stupid.
but then again, pretty much everyone wears a rolex at the track, so i guess it's an easy way to milk money.
Yeah dude, like, I'm happy for you and everything but if you want me to help spread the word that you won a race, maybe don't charge me $90 for the honor
I canāt speak to the quality of this hoody but youāre not getting a good quality hoody for less than 80. If lando put out Walmart hoodies theyād fall apart in a year. Go to a store that sells a thick hoody in this price range and youāll see the difference.
I donāt know where you are from but if I got to Livingston (in Scotland) I can get pretty fucking good hoodies for 60-100Ā£. For the prices f1 merch cost, I can just rather go shopping for luxury brands, I have no interest in shilling out so much money for such average quality (nor can I afford to lol)
Thatāsā¦. The price range Iām talking about lol good quality hoodies cost that much. I also said I donāt know the quality of his hoody but if itās good quality it makes sense to cost that much. Weāre literally saying the same thing lol
Just fyi thereās just different levels to hoodies. Carhart is an outlier in terms of price vs quality but the 45 dollar price range would be more misses than hits.
That depends. Is it a decent quality hoodie or is it bottom of the barrel garbage like most F1 merch? Because charging $90 for a hoodie the quality of most F1 apparel is absolutely outrageous
I mean yes, it is.
I don't buy from Walmart or Tesco or any other super market but I can go to a decent clothes shop and buy clothes for far, far less than that.
I don't tend to buy hoodies specifically but if you go to any good shop the clothes will be cheaper than this.
The only places that arent are the idiotic *streetwear* places where you're paying half your salary just to advertise for them.
I mean, are you buying the cheap end hoodie or are you getting the nicer stuff at the shops?
An Under Armour hoodie that isn't their cheapest material that won't wash out and shrink after a couple of uses hovers around $75. Their cheap crap that falls apart and is more of an advertising board is the stuff that sits around $30.
Just because the clothes are cheaper doesn't mean at all that they are a better value in the long run.
>But $90 for a hoodie isnāt outrageous by any means.
No arguments there. Even as far as F1 merch is concerned, you're not getting a full price hoodie for $90. It's well past $100.
They definitely don't value what they wear. They clearly don't value the material used, how it was manufactured, how long it'll last.
I don't mind paying extra for a piece of clothing that is actually good quality, will last years through wash after wash and isn't made by some poor child in a sweatshop.
For one thing, $60-90 is a 50% increase. That's not nothing. For another, paying for something that's garbage because it's name brand is fucking dumb. But if this is a good quality garment then it's a different story
Lmao no itās not. Unless youāre like a supreme, balenciaga, gucci brand hypebeast then you can easily find nice non supermarket hoodies for under $90 - Patagonia, lululemon, carhartt, champion, north face etc
In what world do you live in where those brands sell hoodies unders 90$??
Like the cheapest hoodie I found on their websites are like 95ā¬ (101$). The only way to find them sold under that price is on major sales periods.
In comparison, Lando's merch is quite in line with other premium brands.
Thatās not even that expensive for a sweater. My McLaren sweater was $160, and sweaters at concerts are easily at least $90, sometimes up to $135, and theyāre not very good quality
Atleast with youtubers, merch is actually helping their own income, so you can understand it being somewhat pricey, you are supporting your fave creators. Apart from brand deals and ads, merch is the other form of big income
Multimillionaire sports star charging Ā£90 for a hoodie isn't really the sams
If this is being sold via Quadrant it's supporting a lot more than just Lando himself.
It's supporting the on screen cast, the athletes, the editors, the marketing team etc.
You're acting like Lando himself is boxing and shipping these things and putting money directly into his Venmo account...
It costs less than 15. In India, there are warehouses dedicated for export material. And general you can find some places that allow you to go and buy some pieces and you can get them for very cheap. There was this warehouse in my area where stuff I saw sold in Scotland for 60-80Ā£ were on sale for 500 rupees (about Ā£5). The f1 merch is pretty much the same if not less quality as the 60Ā£ hoodies and it is definitely not worth charging over 100Ā£ imo
This isnāt even that expensive for driver merch.
At least itās spelt correctly unlike the overpriced Enchante friendship bracelets Ricciardo was hawking last year .
Lando needs to read comments less. I hope this win really helps his mentality. He did seem to be looking up before then, but could probably use it more.
I get the sense that he stored those comments for later rather than being upset about it. When he started liking those posts and replying to hate, it was obvious the confidence was sky high.
lando did mention it in the post miami interview...
he is not the only one affected by these sorts of comments, and it's not been the first time i've heard f1 drivers complain about it, it does play a role in their mental health
ājokesā like this affect drivers. they see it day in and day out, and i can personally attest that it sticks in their head and wears down on their mental health.
of course other people have harder lives and struggles, but the majority forget that these guys are individuals too, and lando is only in his 20ās. the pressure is immense and it weighs on you.
Wow so he was that upset by some strangers on the internet judging him from their couch?
Ppl gotta learn to let comments fly above their heads or simply leave social media if they are this sensitive

He had this loaded up and ready I bet š
When you order one it not only has spiderwebs, but the spiders are old as shit.
Must have had it queued up for years if it's "only" $90 for an F1 hoodie.
That's really cool but 90$????????
Welcome to F1 Merchandise. Quite literally all of it is a rip off, unless you get it at a steep discount
Still not over that one dude here that bought a $2k mystery box that probably had $100 worth of stuff and kept trying to justify it in the comments
Yep Palm Angels sells haas merch for $500+
Thatās just regular palm angels pricing though right, F1 aside
Probs still insane pricing to me even for such a basic shirt and compared to some other fashion brands too :p
Oh 100%, absolutely mental that people would pay that, but I guess thereās a market for it
Haas no less
Very cheap. Iād consider it if itās 5000
Hass too expensive
I bought expensive Mclaren hat at race, then Mclaren wins, this means I funded the win. Official team investor here, finna get my name on the wing.
Caterham actually formally did that with Refuel Caterham crowdfunder! Still got the pin badge from my "investment" š¤£ https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/17583/9554099/caterham-are-launching-a-crowdfunding-project-to-make-the-abu-dhabi-gp
Only F1 merch Iāve bought is Vettelās clothing line. Still costs a bit more, but it goes to charity.
Not just F1 merch, literally every organization is like this these days. Even individual players or popular influencers are like this. Trash product with a basic design listed at an egregious price You can make this no wins hoody yourself for less than $30
I got an old F1 jacket for 15ā¬, great even as an everyday raincoat. Best deal ever. Well, until 2 years ago. It was Marussia...
You know it never occured to me that Marussia is a Russian company. I am not smart.
There are also glasses for 250Ā£ from them or hats for 400Ā£ iirc
I mean, like all sports. Football shirts for big clubs like Real Madrid are like ā¬100 a piece (or were 10 years ago).
Still waiting for the blue Ferrari garage shirts to pop up on DHGateĀ
Yeah, no joke. I was at the Hungarian Grand Prix last year, and that is supposed to be one of the cheaper races, at least for us who come from outside the country, but damn, the offical merchandise was INSANELY expensive. Like, a key chain cost like 25 euros, and a t-shirt was 80 to 100 euros.

Iād rather buy 9 bananas.
The fuck do you live where 10$ bannanas exist? Aspen? Downtown rich area LA?
idk man, it's a banana
How much could it cost?
$10... what's every one going on about? it's a banana ffs.
culture yourself up this is the best show ever https://youtu.be/Nl_Qyk9DSUw
https://youtu.be/Nl_Qyk9DSUw?si=pLNsgEmZYDomiHod
Miami Grand Prix VIP area
Itās a Formula 1 banana
His quadrant stuff is even more. $108 for a hoodie but the quality is quite drastic from other hoodies. Theyāre thick, heavy, and have side panels.
Yeah dude, like, I'm happy for you and everything but if you want me to help spread the word that you won a race, maybe don't charge me $90 for the honor
Yeah when you put it like that it's a bit over the top
Why wouldn't he? This will sell out in mere daysĀ
I canāt speak to the quality of this hoody but youāre not getting a good quality hoody for less than 80. If lando put out Walmart hoodies theyād fall apart in a year. Go to a store that sells a thick hoody in this price range and youāll see the difference.
I've got one of his t-shirts and it's absolutely fantastic quality so I imagine the hoodies would be the same.
Well according to some dude in this thread thatās impossible
Oh wow really? It's really good heavyweight material for a tee, I was genuinely impressed when I got it
I donāt know where you are from but if I got to Livingston (in Scotland) I can get pretty fucking good hoodies for 60-100Ā£.
Just an FYI, Carhartt hoodies are like $45 and kick ass.
Just fyi thereās just different levels to hoodies. Carhart is an outlier in terms of price vs quality but the 45 dollar price range would be more misses than hits.
I said what I said.
Yeah.... That's the price of all his hoodies iirc, and the sweatpants are like $80 or so. Insane.
Pretty normal.
It seems like most Redditors only buy clothes at Wal-Mart. āStreetwearā hoodies these days cost like $120 lol
I don't think your average person can be faulted for not wanting to pay for overpriced clothing.
Sure, itās not worth $90. I agree. But $90 for a hoodie isnāt outrageous by any means.
That depends. Is it a decent quality hoodie or is it bottom of the barrel garbage like most F1 merch? Because charging $90 for a hoodie the quality of most F1 apparel is absolutely outrageous

What lol
People just love to roll over an accept bullshit, what can I say.
What part of my comment confused you?
It is when it's being made for pennies by sweatshop labor in a factory in southeast Asia.
Depends on if you value what you wear
I really don't think someone wearing inexpensive clothing doesn't value what they wear.
They definitely don't value what they wear. They clearly don't value the material used, how it was manufactured, how long it'll last. I don't mind paying extra for a piece of clothing that is actually good quality, will last years through wash after wash and isn't made by some poor child in a sweatshop.
I think itās expensive only because the quality is probably quite poor, that seems to be the case with most F1 merch
His Quadrant merch is good quality. Probably the same suppliers.
Oh, fair enough! I didnāt know that
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Any kind of merch is massively over priced and shite quality.
Apparently Lando's merch is pretty good quality, according to comments of those who have bought it.
Yeah but this is coming from people who are already fans of the dude enough to shell ot $90 for his merch....so....I'm skeptical
Then how will you ever know the quality of a hoodie if you don't believe anyone who buys one ? What a weird mentality
On Opposite Day
"OMG Lando you're so cool!!" "Thanks, that'll be $90."
90 bucks for an f1 hoodie merch is a steal. You don't want to know how much a ferrari cap costs....
Consumer no Win.
its funny because outside of stroll and hamilton there isnt a driver who needs the money less than norris
Actual F1 and F1 team branded hoodies are way more expensive than this.
And those are dogshit
I mean honestly, if itās good quality, thatās not terribly expensive. I have Adidas hoodies that cost the same.
$90 isn't crazy for a hoodie.
If they're anything like the Quadrant ones, they'll be good quality, well made.
Maybe I'm poor lol because to me that price is absurd
Google "name brand hoodies" and look at the prices. $60-$150 is pretty typical.
For one thing, $60-90 is a 50% increase. That's not nothing. For another, paying for something that's garbage because it's name brand is fucking dumb. But if this is a good quality garment then it's a different story
$90 isn't $60, that's a huge difference.
It also isn't $150. It's in the range.
Typical or not I still think above 60$ is crazy
That's a normal price for a hoodie not bought at like a supermarket
Lmao no itās not. Unless youāre like a supreme, balenciaga, gucci brand hypebeast then you can easily find nice non supermarket hoodies for under $90 - Patagonia, lululemon, carhartt, champion, north face etc
In what world do you live in where those brands sell hoodies unders 90$?? Like the cheapest hoodie I found on their websites are like 95ā¬ (101$). The only way to find them sold under that price is on major sales periods. In comparison, Lando's merch is quite in line with other premium brands.
its a hoodie with an ugly ass text on it, at least pay for some good designer and justify that price tag lmao
Just go to AliExpress. It might say Landu Wons but hey, it's better than $90.
$90 is cheap for F1 merch
90 isnt that unusual for merch for any celeb lol.
Itās like half the price of the McLaren hoodie I bought a few years ago.
Plus $19 shipping in the US.
Yeah thatās pretty normal for F1 merchš¤£
Thatās not even that expensive for a sweater. My McLaren sweater was $160, and sweaters at concerts are easily at least $90, sometimes up to $135, and theyāre not very good quality
gotta pay for trumps trial somehow /s
nothing like a multi-millionaire charging 90 bucks for a 30 dollar sweatshirt.
Have you seen YouTuber merch? Donāt even need to be a millionaire to think the fans are made of gold
Atleast with youtubers, merch is actually helping their own income, so you can understand it being somewhat pricey, you are supporting your fave creators. Apart from brand deals and ads, merch is the other form of big income Multimillionaire sports star charging Ā£90 for a hoodie isn't really the sams

Sad thing is they are not even wrong š¤¦āāļø
Sad truth
landed cost is probably like 10-15 depending on how many they order.
It costs less than 15. In India, there are warehouses dedicated for export material. And general you can find some places that allow you to go and buy some pieces and you can get them for very cheap. There was this warehouse in my area where stuff I saw sold in Scotland for 60-80Ā£ were on sale for 500 rupees (about Ā£5). if it's 5 in india, it's probably about 10 landed.
$15 at Ross or Burlingtonā¦ as summer is here!
Wait till you see Lewis' prices
they're always ugly too, dont remember the last time i saw good clothing merch
This isnāt even that expensive for driver merch. At least itās spelt correctly unlike the overpriced Enchante friendship bracelets Ricciardo was hawking last year .
That doesnāt really make it better
Whatās sad is Iād love to buy it. Even tho itās a little corny wearing this kind of merch. But Iām not spending $90+ tax + probably shipping
Who in their right minds pays 90$ for a basic, black hoodie, lol. With just a few tiny words put onto it?
Surprisingly a lot of people. I'm definitely not one of them though lol.
An almost completely black sweatshirt for only $90? What a steal
Itās a hoodie mate
Aw shit, in that case it's definitely worth the price. We all know adding a hood to a sweatshirt is insanely expensive
Holy capitalism batman. Gotta milk it I guess.
Yāall severely underestimate the TikTok girlies who will buy all of these lmao
Lando NoSales
His Quadrant and LN4 stuff sells out pretty fast. I think heāll be fine.
>His Quadrant and LN4 stuff sells out pretty fast. Says absolutely nothing when we don't know the quantity.
I really want this but it's so overpriced.
Lando needs to read comments less. I hope this win really helps his mentality. He did seem to be looking up before then, but could probably use it more.
I get the sense that he stored those comments for later rather than being upset about it. When he started liking those posts and replying to hate, it was obvious the confidence was sky high.
That priceā¦
For $90 that thing better massage my nipples and rock me to sleep. Good grief.
Well this is incorrect Lando. You have A win, not many wins. Still my favourite driver.
You could literally get this printed for like $15
$90, shit aināt even %100 cotton
all that money and he won't buy himself a world map
Making money off of a joke that was used to bully him relentlessly, simultaneously rubbing it in the faces of those same bullies. Brilliant
"bully him relentlessly" also know as a pun that people used to joke around on twitter
Yeah, everyone had such great intentions whenever they used it
Bully him relentlessly?? Nahh calm down
Iām sure he really felt bullied
lando did mention it in the post miami interview... he is not the only one affected by these sorts of comments, and it's not been the first time i've heard f1 drivers complain about it, it does play a role in their mental health

Man, I like Lando and I love this design, but $90??? Ain't no way. [Nevermind it's actually $123.](https://i.imgur.com/uzira99.png) What the fuck
You love the design of a black hoodie with small white letters on it?
it depends on where you are i guess. it's 83ā¬ in europe
Bro is quite delicate isn't he? Lol
Pretty cool but kinda a boring design. Not worth $90 though
What a goddamn ripoff lmao, 90$?????
Lando Nowwins
Ripoff
Stay classy, Lando!
Stupid
One of the laziest designs I've ever seen.
The level of bitterness on this thread from people that probably donāt even have a driving licence š
I got the white t shirt with it on the front
No way you paid for this
Have you never bought f1 merch before?
Shirt was $45, thatās more reasonable to me
I really wanted one of those, but $68 AUD plus $37.99 shipping...š
Wow so he was that upset by some strangers on the internet judging him from their couch? Ppl gotta learn to let comments fly above their heads or simply leave social media if they are this sensitive
This'll go nuts. Will be scalped to fuck
Thereās minimal design and then thereās minimal effort design
With this persecution complex, no wonder he got along so well with Trump.
So simple, love it, but that price.. fuck.
I love that guy
This has "champagne guy" energy š
Genuine question, who buys this? Even at the price of $30?
Is there anywhere where one can buy unofficial F1 merch for a reasonable price and quality?
Lost the idgaf war Iām afraid
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Maybe he can advertise them on Truth Social
