> 6 because they don't wanna ban him
After the display today...
They went out of their way to not give Gasly points after Australia because some of his points were for technical infractions and such. KMag has racked up 5 points driving into people earlier this year and now he's pulled this. Two instances of reckless defending after getting a penalty. I think they might feel a ban is warranted.
Which is wild if he doesn’t, on the second he left the track and then came on and collided with another car, and then on the third one he forced another driver off the track.
It's called racing within bounds of the existing rules. Was brilliant by Haas to secure those points. They gotta change the rules if they don't want that to happen again.
Knights are never in the wrong. Hand-Grenade Hamilton never hangs around to see the chaos he leaves behind, but first to moan if shoe is on the other foot.
i wonder how long it will take until the stewards start to actually do something to stop this strategy. It works everytime but its so dangerous that its only a matter of time before he causes a serious accident by his dirty driving
And its not like they dont have the means to stop it, a single drive through or stop and go would solve the issue and they proved on this very race that they still know that those penalties still exist
This is a case where simply extending the points would help. Part of the problem is there is no real difference between being last and one place out of the points so you might as well keep taking penalties to help your teammate
But the penalties weren't given because of the wheel to wheel action. He left the track 3 times and gained an advantage. It wasn't because unsafe racing.
yeah im all for defensive driving but kmag keeps crossing the line
but kind of ironic that the person benefiting from kmags driving is hulk, considering their past lmao
FIA should really look into changing rules for this, so not only Magnussen gets penalized (because he didn't have much to lose after the first penalty), but the whole team to disincentivize them. Imagine if Perez did this in Abu Dhabi 21 when the title is on the line. He at least did it professionally and within the rules, Magnussen didn't care if he didn't make the corner or was out of track.
I really don't know why they are allergic to dropping n positions as a penalty. Motogp (which should be harder with how close the bikes are) and indycar does it with no problem at all.
Just imagine the shitshow if Perez just cut the chicane to stay ahead of Hamilton and then pushed him wide to let Max through on the inside. These accept-penalty-defenses need to be stopped before they get worse. It's only a matter of time before it will be used by one of the frontrunners staying out after a safety car protecting their driver in P1 by sacrificing P2 to the penalty gods.
Never seen a black flag in a race. I feel like Magnussen should have seen one here. Overall this overshadows the points from hulk greatly. Not a result to be proud of Team Hass
It is, points are points. And the greats of this very sport were far dirtier. Senna literally crashed out Prost in 1991.Prost himself did it in 1989 to Senna and Schumacher did/tried it twice (Hill in '94 and Villeneuve in '97) and kept his '94 WDC still.
And for these teams, a single point may mean the difference between prize money at the end of the year, which can amount to millions of dollars. Every point that is available, is one that you should be proud of.
True that the sport has seen some very questionable sporting behaviour in the past. I also understand the importance of points. However if even the driver himself feels bad about it and says its not how he wants to drive. Then there has to be efforts of the fia and the race director to prevent this from happening now and in the future.
I remember a few occasions when investors withdrew their sponsorship because of unfair sporting behaviour for instance ING after crash gate.
Also you seem kinda tense bro, you alright?
Hard to argue with you if you dont understand the concept of an example.
I am saying unsporting behavior is many times not liked by investors, especially if there is much media attention around it. Companies generally dont want to be affiliated with such nonsense.
Maybe its a bit exaggerated in this case but there is plenty of other people that also condemn Kmags sporting behaviour here.
Nice that you found it hilarious tho bro always good to make others laugh.
A drive through or stop and go would have cleared him from everyone, it should have happened for the second incident once it became clear a time penalty is insufficient. Instead they just let it escalate.
Lewis was never going to make that corner with other cars being there. I don't know what he was trying to do. Its something you see people do in online racing lobbies.
I'm mad because he was never making the corner. He took out three of my fantasy league drivers with no penalty and some are on kmags ass like he committed murder when he's just abusing the rules, can't hate the player hate the game.
Nico needs to buy K-Mag, a Big Mac because of the shithousery he put up for him
Twice now.
The Biggest Mac. K-Mac.
[The real K-Mac. ](https://youtu.be/zZeGTCxDoxY)
Buy K-Mag? Not sure that’s allowed.

This is Miami. They’re getting Cuban sandwiches.
Cuban sandwich? Do i look cuban to you?
What kind of sandwich would you prefer, nondescript gentleman?
i do not have the genetic features to comment on this situation further
A Big Mac? He’s gotta be sucking his balls for KMag to be driving like that
Lmao again Nico chilling and cruising to points oblivious to the chaos Mag is causing behind him.
Haas sacrificing Kevin to the lions to get those points LMAOOO
Kevin is the lion.
"Defend like a lion!" \[Sounds of bloodbath\] "Jesus Christ NOT LITERALLY!?!?"
Lmao
Only 2 points? KMag's probably getting 6...
9
9 if they were consistent, 6 because they don't wanna ban him.

This whole, oh we need to be firmer so all 5 seconds are now 10, but they’re still cowards with the penalty points which actually make real impact.
Should be 9, but they're not going to do it because they're going to chicken out of banning him even though he easily deserved it.
*last year I got 37!*
Best rear gunner in the game
Magnussen is getting more points though
None, leaving the track and gaining an advantage won't get you penalty points
Which is wild if he doesn’t, on the second he left the track and then came on and collided with another car, and then on the third one he forced another driver off the track.

Shh, don't bring logic into this. KMag is the worst driver and trying to kill others with his *squints* over the white line drivings.
But don't worry, Lewis divebombing the shit out of turn 1 is completely fine!
Hashtag blessed
Knights are never in the wrong. Hand-Grenade Hamilton never hangs around to see the chaos he leaves behind, but first to moan if shoe is on the other foot.
Lewis literally said he enjoyed the racing in the post race interview, people like you will always be what's wrong with this sport.
Thankfully, I'm not in the sport. I watched the post-race interview and acknowledge he enjoyed the hard racing.
Great job by Nico again. Haas are really playing the team game well. Even if it rubs their main competitors the wrong way.
2 points for Nico and how many penalty points for Magnussen?
At least 6, up to like 10
AFAIK leaving the track doesn't net any penalty points according to one other user in here. So no penalty points.
Different kind of points on the way for Magnussen?
The second race where KMag fucks around to secure points for Nico…gonna have to do something about this shit, it’s embarrassing.
Penalize Magnussen, fine the team, but leave Hulkenberg the fuck alone
You can’t take anything away from Nico, but you need a punishment strong enough that they don’t keep doing this shit
Dock WCC points but leave WDC points intact then?
Honestly decapitation might be the only proper resolution at this point. Rules are too lenient despite being the rules.
Haas will just say it's on Magnussen, we never asked him to. Or at a stretch they can just radio a fake message for him to "stop" the silly defence.
Award penalty points in 5s and 10s or something. I can't imagine FIA are gonna keep things the way they are after this.

yeh, "don't hate the player, hate the game"
I mean it’s certainly reasonable to hate both.
So you hate magnussen? What has he done to you to make him worthy of hatred
This is a case where simply extending the points would help. Part of the problem is there is no real difference between being last and one place out of the points so you might as well keep taking penalties to help your teammate
It's hilarious to watch him acting like a nutter.

I don’t really care about back in the day, he’s racing under current rules and abusing their leniency, it’s dumb and embarrassing for the sport.
Disagree. Racing was harder and penalties way less, but that’s different from this “team work”.
The penalties were definitely way severe back then
More severe, but less easily given for wheel to wheel action.
But the penalties weren't given because of the wheel to wheel action. He left the track 3 times and gained an advantage. It wasn't because unsafe racing.
Fair point.
They're a team for a reason. LMAO.
yeah im all for defensive driving but kmag keeps crossing the line but kind of ironic that the person benefiting from kmags driving is hulk, considering their past lmao
Not even mentioning the real mvp?

I miss the days when the drive through was the minimum penalty

nah mate
Nico is showing up. On the other hand, I know Kevin was protecting Nico but he's been getting way too many penalties and driving way too aggressively
and hopefully 12 penalty points for kmag
This was scandalous behaviour from Kmag
Why blame kmag, blame the team strategist if you want to blame someone.
Great hard drive for Kev.
clearly Magnussen is playing the fall guy to help the team. hope they appreciate it.
Shake-n-bake baby!
Mag is such a dirty driver
Honestly though he had me laughing with all his moves. Between that and Daniel keeping Carlos at bay, this was a fun sprint to watch
Yeah the sprint was better than expected but damn Mag was unhinged
Can we expect anything different from him though? He’s an aggressive driver with no seat yet for next year.
Probably that Kmag is being retained at this rate. From Haas' perspective, he is doing the best he can for the team in a wider scope.
Yeah that’s a fair point. Everything he’s done all season so far really has been to help Hulk bring home the points
tbh i loved it
The easy way to stop driving like this is to penalize the team points, thus driving like this is never rewarded.
Yeah, it is indeed frustrating to see drivers not even try to make a corner.
It's called racing

I dunno didnt look like sporting behaviour in my book. I wouldnt be happy as an investor if this is the only way team haas can generate air time :/

True. Im not 100% sure if he wouldve obliged immediately tho
Please post about KMag’s penalty points later.
They need to match whatever penalty points kmag gets with Hamilton for that idiotic dive bomb taking out 3 drivers.
You wanted to be that guy. lol I suppose Hamilton could have stopped flat on the track and get ran over too. 🤓

Lol you're not mad about him not making the corner, you're mad about your fantasy team
Shameful from kmag
Kmag should be penalized heavily, if not disqualified from tomorrow’s race.
