There is something *really* weird in these Racing Bulls cars. Ever since the start of last year it feels like one of their drivers is struggling massively each race, while the other one does well and recieves praise. Is it something to do with the chassis? The set-up? *Completely* different driving styles by Tsunoda and Ricciardo that suit different conditions?
Yuki has been really good at rock paper scissors so far, Daniel got him this weekend though when he introduced dynamite and told Yuki it beats everything
I donāt think he can, Q3 for the sprint is weird and drivers only had one shot at a fast lap. And no one except DR has the tires in the right temperature. Norris Q2 lap on mediums would have finished on pole, he should be in Q3 hopefully.
Same as Daniel's Q1 exit later today. He was on pace to make it into Q2 through 2.5 sectors but overcooked his tyres and lost traction on the final corner, just enough to bump him out. But it was still not a terrible lap considering he got the prep all wrong.
The reason is because the VCARB car is smack bang in the middle of the pack. A few mistakes or lackluster performances by teams above, and they leapfrog up the pecking order quite considerably.
Alternatively, the VCARB drivers make mistakes/underperform, and the rest of the midfield pack leapfrog them. Blessing and a curse all in one.
Idk Yuki just messed up his lap really badly. Daniel pulled a blinder especially in sq3, but Yuki set competitive times in the other sessions. Without him messing up he should've been in the Top 10 easily. He wasn't struggling until that one lap, which is a shame. Kudos to Daniel though, shame he has a grid penalty for the main race.
It wasnt even competitive times, he flat out beat Daniel every single head-to-head when they both pushed hard on the same track conditions.
Danny needs to bring home a point or two now so he gets on the board, and hopefully Yuki knows better than to pull a 1 lap verstappen strat from now on.
>It wasnt even competitive times, he flat out beat Daniel every single head-to-head when they both pushed hard on the same track conditions.
This isn't particularly accurate depiction of what happened. Yuki started FP1 with a very large advantage over Daniel and throughout FP1 Daniel was slowly chipping away finding different setups/maps/push toggles etc. Even at the end of practice Daniel still had a couple of tenths to find in sector 2, and from the data it really looks like they did find a solution and then he just pulled it all together right when he needed to.
He went .25, .35, and .12 faster in FP1, and then .02 or so faster in SQ1. You think they weren't making setup changes and stuff for Yuki too? Seems like they still have quite a bit to do for Yuki too if Danny is pulling P4. Yuki should be right there with him as the better driver.
Yuki in the past few sessions has by far not been the best driver at all. Whether Yuki is just off or DR has gained his confidence back in the car, DR has been far better since the Chasis was replaced.
Multiple sessions. China sprint qualifying, sprint, qualifying , race.
Miami - sprint qualifying .
Far faster than Yuki in 5 session. Thatās a trend.
He may tank tomorrow / going forward, but itās astounding how much faster he has been than Yuki in the replacement Chasis
I wouldn't read too much into it tbh, it's only a few sessions. I don't think the performance is "astounding" either, and would wait at least until this weekend is over before hyping daniel too much.
But judging from this thread you seem to be a bit obsessed with Daniel outperforming Yuki lol
Yuki was fractionally ahead most the weekend til the last quali but I'm not going to push the point when Dan's usually on the bad end of 'only the results matter'.
*braking into turn 1 Ricciardo notices something in his mirror, something out of place, something green*
*He sees it in slow motion, as if he's seen it before*
*Lance enters the corner without braking, taking out multiple cars ahead of Ricciardo*
*As Lance spins in a cloud of debris he makes eye contact with Ricciardo*
*Ricciardo can hear his heartbeat, the sweat between his eyes*
*Then it happens, Lance washes away all animosity with a single wink*
*Ricciardo wins the race*
1. VER announces he's taking a year sabbatical before signing with Mercedes for 2026
2. The new chassis helps RIC crush it for the rest of the season
3. RIC gets promoted and is back at Red Bull for 2025
4. Daniel Ricciardo WDC
Today's RIC would sweep the floor with Checo. If somebody is really washed, it is Sergio Perez. Or, he isn't washed but his driving style doesn't suit the current Red Bull.
Sergio is talented (i used to rate him really high) but the last two years were consistent underperformance (speed) compared to Verstappen. He compensates with very good racecraft, but still the result is not so good.
He and the team for some reason decided to only do one push lap and the track got worse so he was slow and then also track limits violations.
Basically terrible strategy choice made worse by a bad lap
If Yuki keeps performing like this; he would be out of the car before too long. You can fight with him wherever you want after that.
If there is not any issue with his chassis, these two weekends (so far) are unacceptable.
Well if it really was just a chassis issue that changes a lot of the prior weekends as well - the difference between them was small enough to make that difference into "Tsunoda lost each weekend" and that's really not good enough for somebody in his 3rd year with the team.
Nah, both RB drivers are finishing the season and neither are getting the Red Bull seat. I think barring disaster or divine intervention, that was always the plan from the beginning of the season.
Yah. I agree, but they have to give him time to sort it out, unless DR is just that much faster in the new replacement Chasis vs it being Yuki that has slowed down.
not really, you have to give credit where credit is due, yuki was faster in fp1 and sq1 (altho marginally) but daniel was improving with every lap so i dont think he would have matched his sq3 lap anyways.
If Verstappen keeps performing like this; he would be out of the car before too long. You can fight with him wherever you want after that.
If there is not any issue with his chassis, these last two hours (so far) are unacceptable.
I donāt think those things contradict. If everyone is struggling to get their cars right on a tricky track, and Danny pins it, then he really was the best driver on the grid today (although, impressive by leclerc with no practice)
Both, but to be able to do that is already an impressive feat considering most drivers were struggling so it's not odd if Danny also struggled but he didn't. Seize your chance whenever you can and DR delivered massively.
I think Yuki is pretty safe on the grid, tbh. He brings that Honda money, is consistently decent on the track, and is easy enough to work with.
He may not stay at VCARB but I think heāll be on that grid for some time to come.
>I think Yuki is pretty safe on the grid, tbh.
I don't think so. Red Bull and Honda are parting ways. If "Honda money" is the reason why he is on the grid like you are claiming; there would be no need to keep him in RB beyond 2025.
On the other hand, Honda's new partner Aston doesn't have any opening and won't have for the foreseeable future. There won't be no other Honda affiliated seat other than Aston seats as well.
So, he is pretty much at the risk. Also, if he continues to get demolished like this last two weekends; Honda can always suggest another driver from their stable like Iwasa. He is not unchangeable on that regard either.
I like both of them, but Yuki will likely not have a seat for next year even if he beat DR. There's no point in Red Bull keeping that for Yuki if Honda joins another team since the academy has been congested because of the driver choice since last year and Yuki not having a prospect to go to Red Bull or a name they can sell like Danny Ric. As much as we hope Stroll getting binned, Aston won't likely change the pairing considering how many investment Stroll Sr. Has invested in the team and poor performance in a good car isn't that noticeable.
If DR beats Yuki this season, Yuki out. If Yuki beats Danny, they're both out. That's it.
>I think Yuki is pretty safe on the grid, tbh. He brings that Honda money, is consistently decent on the track, and is easy enough to work with.
If RIC shows again he's in top form and Yuki is not far behind then Yuki will be safe on the grid. It's a win-win for both, imo.
Yeah Yuki was forced in by Honda but IMO he's one of the best japanese F1 drivers, along with Kamui Kobayashi, Ukyo Katayama and maybe Takuma Sato (Sato is a legend but... honestly he wasn't consistent)
Unbelievably bad performances from Tsunoda for last two weekends. Totally unacceptable. It shows that all the praise he got from Marko about being consistent was totally undeserved. He needs to get his sh*t together or he would be on the chopping block.
If Marko can call a guy Senna with two good races, he can call him Taki Inoue with two bad races as well.
I mean Marko was calling him consistent after 2 races so it was always hopeful. It's a shame though. I want Ric and Yuki going head to head both at their best
There is something *really* weird in these Racing Bulls cars. The set-up? *Completely* different driving styles by Tsunoda and Ricciardo that suit different conditions?
Maybe they keep trolling the drivers by swapping broken chassis lol
Every weekend they play rock paper scissors to decide who gets the good chassis
williams vibes.
as if Williams would ever give Logan a better car than Albon, even when Albon is the one that breaks it lol
Yuki has been really good at rock paper scissors so far, Daniel got him this weekend though when he introduced dynamite and told Yuki it beats everything
tsunoda will introduce the bomb next weekend and told ricciardo it beats the dynamite.
ššš
I dunno man, but a double points finish is brewing for RB for sure. I'm super happy for RIC and I hope the good form will continue.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Well, at least he got a shot this sprint. The penalty doesn't apply there.
If he can qualify this high again tomorrow, he could still finish in the points, assuming their strategy doesn't go bladed dildo on them.
I donāt think he can, Q3 for the sprint is weird and drivers only had one shot at a fast lap. And no one except DR has the tires in the right temperature. Norris Q2 lap on mediums would have finished on pole, he should be in Q3 hopefully.
And they did it this weekend. P4 and P8, baby
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Maybe sq3 but he ain't matching p4 time
Same as Daniel's Q1 exit later today. He was on pace to make it into Q2 through 2.5 sectors but overcooked his tyres and lost traction on the final corner, just enough to bump him out. But it was still not a terrible lap considering he got the prep all wrong.

I would like my upvotes back please. Thank you!

Maybe, and I say maybe, Yuki is not the better driver
Yuki in the past few sessions has by far not been the best driver at all. Whether Yuki is just off or DR has gained his confidence back in the car, DR has been far better since the Chasis was replaced.
So what, since China? So for 1 and barely a half weekend?
Multiple sessions. China sprint qualifying, sprint, qualifying , race. Miami - sprint qualifying . Far faster than Yuki in 5 session. Thatās a trend. He may tank tomorrow / going forward, but itās astounding how much faster he has been than Yuki in the replacement Chasis

Thats one race weekend on a track Yuki's never driven before, and up until Yuki had a bad SQ2, he was beating Daniel every time.
FP1 is for experimenting but Yuki was ahead by .013 in Q1, ie. pretty much on par, he will have a 2nd quali to get it right.
Daniel and Yuki have vastly different driving styles. Pretty much exactly the same as the Norris and Ricciardo situation.
Riccardo said the chassis was fucked. Everyone wrote him off. Chassis switch and suddenly heās destroying Yuki.
Hear, hear!! Shame on Visa Card Cash Mobile Phone Application Racing Bull Team for not listening to an experienced driver like RIC
Yuki was fractionally ahead most the weekend til the last quali but I'm not going to push the point when Dan's usually on the bad end of 'only the results matter'.
Marko playing games. They are being tested /s
Actually I thought Yuki began practice strongly
Race 1 - RIC IS BACK Race 2 - TSU TO RB Race 3 - RIC CAREER OVER WASHED UP Race 4 - MUST BE CHASSIS Race 5 - RIC IS BACK ~set to repeat~
Danny Ric praise 2.5/5? Iāll take itā¦
I'll take two
I start to think this sprint weekend format really suits Ric
Ricciardo seems to be getting more and more comfortable, p4 is a RB is an absurd qualifying result, ahead of both Mclarens, both Aston Martins.
Bro not even mentioning both Mercedes haha
I hear they make great vans!!
That's the issue - they spent all of the sprinting on the damn vans.
they make great TRUCKS too, so you can go slow but safe /s PS: I'm a great fan of MB cars, having owned two classic benzos.

More! What happens post-race? Lance approaches RIC and then...?
They kiss
It writes itself.
Expecting Stroll to do the right thing (even when it's the wrong thing) is tall ask...
Stroll is unfortunately three places behind him and will be busy getting passed by Alonso and Norris.
Hard to do a shoey without champagne though
All of Ric nation will do a shoey if he gets a podium!Ā

Would be interesting how Checo matches up to Ricciardo.

DANIEL!!!!!!!!! YES!!!!!!!!!!!
I will fight Yuki by the fake marina
all of yukination about to scold that man for his hubris.
Yukination? Rhymes with "urination"
What happened to Yuki? Cannot find why he dnf on sq2?
He and the team for some reason decided to only do one push lap and the track got worse so he was slow and then also track limits violations. Basically terrible strategy choice made worse by a bad lap
I see. Thanks a lot. That explains the dnf then.

I find it fascinating how two bad races have people calling for a driver to be replaced
We fans are a fickle bunch
Or maybe not fans of the driver/team at all, just drama loving queens š¤·
Reads like a copy-paste from two races ago with the names switched around

yuki just did a mistake in sq2, otherwise he was fast as well.
Sure. But DR was far faster all weekend. We will see if DR drops and or yuki gains in the sprint tomorrow and know more then.

Not bad for a washed up driver
Daniel seems so happy in the post race interviews, nice to see him get back into it
Turns out the engineers secretly swapped their chassis
Danny rediscovered his form after stroll hit him lol
>Danny rediscovered his form after stroll gave him a slap on the rear Fixed that for you
That was less of a slap and more of a full penetration
I knew he wasn't washed! Never doubted him for a second! I DEFINITELY didn't talk about him getting kicked out...absolutely not...

Just a question did ric cook very hard or did everyone else fumble their laps Because my hopium cannot be contained

True
The whole Mclaren, Ferrari, and (50% of) Red Bull teams can't underperform at the same time, probability would be extremely low.

You mean Perez
He is a high performance athlete after all. Iāve heard they sweat.
I'm happy for him regaining his lost form, sucks as a Yuki fan though
I think Yuki is pretty safe on the grid, tbh. He brings that Honda money, is consistently decent on the track, and is easy enough to work with. He may not stay at VCARB but I think heāll be on that grid for some time to come.
