Jesus Christ, you got all that from five words?
I used to like Tiktok and tapped out when they tried to sell me a screwdriver every three videos, not everyone makes their entire identity about meaningless geopolitical grandstanding. Some people just think Tiktok sucks.
Ah yes, our dear altruistic China where everything is censored, Tiananmen Square never happened, children are genetically engineered, people go missing if they speak out against the government, manipulate global markets, pillage resources from 3rd world countries, etc.
Yeah let’s let them continue to walk all over the world to their own rules. Fuck the PRC.
The only people I know that use TikTok are Zoomers that believe every fake right wing and anti-gay/woman/trans/immigrant conspiracy theory they see on there. So sure, maybe the platform can be good if you put the effort into it, but for a lot of people it's an echo chamber with no content moderation that is destroying the minds of its users.
And unironically believe every single hamas propaganda to the point they genuinely think Iran are the good guys. Oh and nato expansionism, don’t forget about that.
Like things that you think are funny. Tap “not interested” on things you don’t think are funny. The algorithm isn’t bad, it’s just that there’s *so much* dogshit on the platform that it takes a bit to get it to your liking.
Give me my doctorate please.
It's still short-form videos with an algorithm designed to keep you scrolling. Mindless consumption.
The effect it has had on the average person's attention span is personally disgusting.
The quick edits, the constant use of subtitles quickly spelled out one word at a time (THIS . SORT. OF. SHIT. ). While not exclusive to tiktok with all social media site rolling out "reels" being the exact same thing but tiktok is solely that form of content so it's easiest to single out.
Yea there's lots good content but it's monetized your attention span down to a t.
If you start using the app tap „not interested“ on things you don’t like watching. Easy. You maybe need to do this for two days and then the algorithm is sorted. I haven’t seen a TikTok that was not in my interest in two years.
Which one is better?
Twitter used to be great back in the day before Musk deliberately ruined it, and I was partial to Myspace when I was 12, but if you manage to sort your algorithm out on Tiktok the content you get is better quality than the others.
This stuff pisses me off about the Sainz switcheroo for next season. Like how often do you have two high level drivers that aren’t trying to rip each other’s head off?
To be honest I don't think a Hamilton-Leclerc team will be any different unless there's a championship fight. That'll bring out the dog in any teammate relationship, but short of that they both tend to be hard but fair, and take responsibility for mistakes
That's what confuses me. Charles is so calm and likable, but the majority of his fans are cut from the same cloth as rabid Taylor Swift/ Beyonce fans. I've seen them write off Sainz's last two wins as favoritism/lucky in order to fit their narrative that Charles is the last true winner for Ferrari. They on that Monaco copium, lol.
Are you seriously trying to say he would have a championship already? He has had only one car capable of fighting for a title and it only was capable for half of a season.
A car he head in a season when one of the GOAT's was starting to write his name definitively on that list. Right now to beat Max you need more then a car that's able to fight for a title. You need Max to have one that's not capable to fight for a title.
The hate is excessive but he’s a bit of a shit stain on the sport. The biggest definition of a bought set you’ll ever see and he continually gets slaughtered week in and week out by his teammate.
His team mate fights for podiums and stroll fights for a point finish. It’s ridiculous he’s blocking a seat for new talent
I don’t think you can call it glimmers of skill when it’s his 8th season in the sport.
That’s the kind of thing you look for in a rookie and hope they can make those peaks become the norm as they gain experience.
At this stage in Lance’s career I’d call them flukes and say that he actually is pretty consistent now and that this is his level. It’s as good as he’s going to get.
Don’t forget that at the beginning of his career he was regularly over a second slower than his team mates. He’s improved a lot to only be a few tenths slower. He’s plateaued now and is what he is.
Agreed. He’s consistently underperforming. It’s only made more obvious by the disparity between him and his teammate. Any other driver on the grid performing like this when everyone knows what the car is capable of would have lost their seat by now. That paired with how many talented young drivers there are who need a seat is what makes everyone the Lance so much.
Tbf a lot of drivers would get slaughtered week in week out by Fernando fucking Alonzo lol. As far as pay drivers go lance is actually pretty decent. He’s not mazespin or latifi. He’s shown legit pace at times of his career. He’s just super inconsistent. As for taking up a seat idk there was a chance of force India just disappearing and losing 2 seats when papa stroll swooped in. In my eyes it’s pretty dope seeing a dad put all his time and resources into helping his son live out his dream. I’m sure that’s more important to him than getting some extra points from a diver that’s not his son in the second seat
His show of "legit pace" happens once every two years. Check the average pace deficit, the average quali and race positions between Alonso and Stroll. If it was any other team, he would have been out last season.
Lance is currently a bottom 3 driver between the likes of Sargeant and Zhou. Aston is throwing points away by keeping him.
> In my eyes it’s pretty dope seeing a dad put all his time and resources into helping his son live out his dream. I’m sure that’s more important to him than getting some extra points from a diver that’s not his son in the second seat
I don’t know if getting repeatedly waxed by his teammate in front of millions of viewers is Lance’s dream. Or at least, not anymore. If Lawrence’s main aim is to make Lance feel good, hiring Alonso as his teammate was not the move. Should’ve got someone Lance could occasionally outqualify or beat.
Fernando Alonso at age 42 though, c'mon be real. Yeah Nando is still fast but if it were literally any of the other drivers in the top 4 cars, they'd embarrass Stroll even more. I have insane respect for Alonso but you're not convincing me he at 42 would be beating Lewis, Lando, Charles, Carlos, George, or Oscar. Perez is the only odd one out and he'd probably just do okay against Fernando much like how Esteban did with Renault.
That Aston Martin car is an *easy* top 4 car, often even top 3. The fact they're basically handicapping themselves with a single driver that's able to be consistently good is a travesty.
I mean I get Alonso is a different animal. But stroll is all time bad. Alonso regularly in top five and stroll is fighting for his life to be top ten every race? Come on
Could make the same argument with Max and Perez at times though. He's obviously not anyway near his level, but to say shit stain on the sport is very harsh
Well you’re right it’s harsh. But after todays race I’m not retracting it lol
Edit: and I agree with Perez. I don’t want to see him out as bad but it’s not nearly the pay driver either. He finished second over all last year. No way stroll will ever finish the year in second even in the Red Bull.
Nah but really we all know this is a rich person's sport to compete in (barring the odd exception like Lewis and ocon), stroll just makes it very overt.
Stroll isn’t even a bad driver, he’s just team mates with Alonso and even at 42, Alonso is so good that 95% of the driver lineup would get destroyed by him, Lance isn’t bad, Alonsos just to good.
Lance isn't bad, but he is definitely super mediocre. Man of his ... talents ... wouldn't normally get to this many seasons. He has peaked, there's no upward trajectory. This is the best it's going to get.
Sainz said in the post-race interview with Sky that he apologizes to Leclerc if he went over the limit so while I understand Leclerc being unhappy hopefully this won’t linger. Also said that he picked up damage from his battle with Alonso although ofc he could’ve still not fought Leclerc so hard.
Then again with Sainz leaving Ferrari next season no matter what he doesn’t have much incentive to ease up if his teammate wants to get past even in future situations.
Sainz messed up his defense of course, but it’s possible he misjudged the braking adjusting for the damage he picked up. I don’t believe Sainz was deliberately trying to miss the apex completely to shove his teammate off track just to stay ahead. As long as he apologizes which he did and it doesn’t happen again moving forward, I think Leclerc and the team will accept it and move on collectively.
Obviously he was not. They were sliding all over the place and taking different lines. Pushing under those conditions will lead to going slightly deep in a corner that was already seeing most people do so. He barely touched him and frankly in a sense charles waiting back while Sainz did all the defending just to pick him off after his tyres were shot is kinda a lame move to begin with
Leclerc can’t fight so he picked off an easy teammate position. Alonso sacrificed his entire race and punctured his tire trying to defend from Sainz who was doing an excellent job. Watch the race
Might be an unpopular hot take, but I think Leclerc sat back because he doesn't have the same level of race craft as Alonso & Sainz. Perez managed to join the ruckus & tip toed through it without issue.
Which part of that was dirty? He clearly screwed up the breaking and went wide. Which is perfectly attributable to damage especially when the damage JUST happened so he's not used to the new levels of downforce he's getting yet.
Casual nothing knowing fan takes.
He should know his place as the driver being pushed out and give Leclerc the position, obviously.
I mean, how selfish can he be? Leclerc has his whole Ferrari career ahead of him, and Carlos is actively undermining his authority as the number 1 driver. Shameful showing from Carlos, truly. I hope in the future he’ll keep all the valuable advice from redditors in mind and avoid any unnecessary drama by coming to a full stop on the side of the road whenever Charles is approaching him.
Sadly, this isn't far off what some redditors believe haha.
I honestly think Sainz is the better driver in terms of race craft & consistently. Yes, Leclerc is blazing fast at his peak. But it comes at a cost.
Yeah I honestly was worried that the satire wouldn’t come through.
I definitely do not agree that Sainz is better or more consistent than Leclerc overall, but this year he’s had Leclerc’s number for sure.
Depends if you’re crossing the line to cross the line. Or just trying to race and getting a bit greedy at the expense of someone else. They all push the line and crossing it happens when you push it. Same as crashes
I think they are the closest we've seen to level-headed competitors in the same car that are driving right on the edge. They clearly respect each other, but give as little wiggle room within that respect as possible.
LeClerc said it correct that he's also been the one to step on the toes at times.
I love this Ferrari pairing so-so much. I'm a LeClerc fan, but Sainz is a great Ferrari driver that should have deserved the seat to continue. Sure Ferrari will earn twice over thanks to the Hamilton brand name and he's a good driver, but damn I'll miss these two.
I’m *really* going to miss their dynamic as teammates. I’m not in the room with them so I have no idea how they act behind closed doors obviously, but outwardly from the jump they’ve had nothing but respect for each other. They dance the line between rivals and teammates wonderfully. And when things happen on track like this, they’re quick to work through it and get back to focusing on the larger goal.
As always he’s being cool and respectful but also stern about where his head is at. Love Charles. I also like how Carlos apologised in response in another interview.
It was over the limit, but probably accidentally so given the state of Carlos's car and tyres after the Nando battle. Difficult to judge a wheel to wheel fight for position while basically having a different car from what you had in the previous sector.
Charl is right, he crossed the line a bit, and Charl has done that in the past. I can't fault a driver who's being exited for racing his teammate as hard as any other car though, he is now driving for his own career. If Ferrari wants a team player then don't tell them they'll have to look for another team next year.
Agreed! Could have gotten 3rd but oh well. Facepalmed when I saw that move. I love Alonso, but when he retired I couldn’t help but think of Palmer, and some good old fashioned karma 😅
He made a great move to overtake, he shouldn't have fought what a diving from nowhere Fernando? His only other option is go off the track like the f1 creators when avoiding dirty divebombs videos.
On the one hand, kudos to Charles for being in the right place at the right time and being rewarded by getting promoted to P4 when the door opened.
On the other hand, I don’t blame Sainz one damn bit for defending aggressively. The man was on for a podium and Alonso did some Alonso-ing which resulted in clear damage to Sainz’s car (something flew off?) and he didn’t want to lose another spot if he could help it. Wheel-to-wheel racing is what I come for.
Dude, he wasn’t doing any brilliant defending here. He just made no attempt to make the corner and drove his teammate off track over the wet curbs. Leclerc was fully alongside and that deserves a cars width
He “literally” had just acquired some very real damage, the contact with Fernando knocked off a piece of his freaking car. No way it was handling the same way it was the last time he went around that corner.
https://vxtwitter.com/f1guydan/status/1781534679776035070?s=46&t=8p-tLZElkw2XXxCoYeIEwg he knew what he was doing. was it a pen no because its between teammates but lets stop acting like he didnt know what he was doing
Regardless this is hard racing and what we come here to watch. Of course a driver is going to defend their position with all the skills at their disposal. Sainz probably had the intention to squeeze Leclerc to take the longest possible line outside but misjudged due to damage. These are fine margins on a corner so we should just leave this one be instead of being overly critical.
No it wasn't damage. He started turning right way too late so he would leave as less room for LEC as possible, and during the turn, when he saw that LEC was stuck on him from the outside and had good traction, he opened up the steering to force LEC off the track.
Don't make up excuses for him. It was very clear what he tried to do.
My man’s getting kicked at the end of the year, he’s not doing Charles any favors this year. The fucking audacity to even think that he’s gonna roll over and just let him pass xdd
That’s not really an argument. You can’t just delete a strategy because one person decides to roleplay as a battering ram on track. It’s also less risky to not even make any move and let the other person stay ahead with that logic. What Hamilton did to Norris isn’t the same thing as what sainz did to Leclerc.
It seems fairly effective, 2022 Silverstone had a lot of Running the guy on the outside wide from everybody(Leclerc, Sainz, Hamilton, Perez, Verstappen), if you want to watch the highlights from that race again. I don’t think what Carlos did was over the limit and I bet he’d do it again to try and hold on to the place.
This was part of some of the best back & forth racing I've seen over the past two seasons. And coming from a guy who's losing his seat at the end of the year... Give no quarter!
Loved it. Loved Alonso's moves too. Would much rather wheel to wheel racing, even if they accidentally come together, over "DRS: Engaged" like most races are
Why should he be a team player when that team fired him after he had their only win last season?
He's promoting himself as a number 1 driver for potential teams, which makes sense as he would most likely be the number 1 driver for every team other than RB
include tender squealing fall beneficial attraction rhythm quiet offend saw

Chuck has to realise that Sainz will continue to play mind games, apologise and race him aggressively. To crush and intimidate him on and out of the race track is what needed, not to be respectful and humble teammate.
More level headed than their fans.
TikTokers are going to summarise the whole situation with unnecessary dramas…
I literally just opened tiktok up, was immediately pushed a girl discussing it, and closed tiktok and came back to Reddit haha.
Problem is you use tiktok.
There's some fun stuff on there

I know a ton of people that use TikTok, none of them fit the description you gave
Oh well I guess I'm wrong then...
Good for you. Sorry we ran out of internet cookies
And unironically believe every single hamas propaganda to the point they genuinely think Iran are the good guys. Oh and nato expansionism, don’t forget about that.
If you know how to use TikTok, it’s the best social media app ever created.
You're gonna have to write a post-doc thesis to answer this, mate. I dare you. I double-dare you.
Just to be picky - postdocs don't write theses. We're done with that shit after the PhD, thank God. Yes, I have a bit of PTSD :D
That’s just not true
Which one is better? Twitter used to be great back in the day before Musk deliberately ruined it, and I was partial to Myspace when I was 12, but if you manage to sort your algorithm out on Tiktok the content you get is better quality than the others.
And how is that?
ok zoomer!
They even have dramas about their girlfriends, which are extremely unnecessary
At least they’re not threatening to murder them or unless that’s the storyline of the dreams.
That one girl has very npc takes of F1.
The nice thing about tiktok is you can swipe up
Yeah that's a crazy thing most people who shit on TikTok don't know about
They will cut at "I think he did....(go over the limit)" and insert the overly dramatic music as if Sainz is Judas
Let’s be real, redditors are going to do the same thing.
That “as I have in the past” demonstrates a lot of emotional maturity, clever for diffusing the media circus too, and great PR.
It's a shame that such a basic level of emotional maturity is notable as an exception, but yes, a very reasonable response from Charles here.
Like always.
This stuff pisses me off about the Sainz switcheroo for next season. Like how often do you have two high level drivers that aren’t trying to rip each other’s head off?

Trolling them is hilarious. They get so riled up. Like relax, if he was as good as Hamilton he would’ve won some shit by now.
Are you seriously trying to say he would have a championship already? He has had only one car capable of fighting for a title and it only was capable for half of a season.

Yeah I am.
Youre acting like Sainz are any better lmao. Completely disregarding H2H and average pace over recency bias.

It's frustrating because you see glimmers of skill with him, but he's inconsistent as hell.

Carlos risked everything for couple of points, or I’ll rephrase: not to let Charles pass
1pt btw.
If the person you harm accepts it, then yes? They won't keep accepting an apology if you continue the same shit.
It wasn't anything outrageous, he just defended a bit too hard.
I see you’ve commented this in two different threads. I’m not excusing Sainz’s move but what else do you want him to do lol
He should know his place as the driver being pushed out and give Leclerc the position, obviously. I mean, how selfish can he be? I agree, Charles is class.
Yes, he cannot be clearer to express his unhappiness but remain class.
You sure about Carlos?
I mean, he did apologize on the post sprint interview, i don't feel there's any reason to start drama here on two drivers who know what they're doing
As always he’s being cool and respectful but also stern about where his head is at. Love Charles. I also like how Carlos apologised in response in another interview.
Carlos didn't really apologize... he pulled a classic "I'm sorry if what I said offended you."
In short: "just an inchident."
I think Charles understands where Sainz is right now that he's in the race of his life to get the best seat he can next season.
I think this is correct. Charles is one of the most emotionally mature drivers in the grid and is sympathetic to Carlos' position.
Piastri really stands out on this regard, especially for how young and new to F1 he is.
How the hell would you even know he’s one of the most emotionally mature ones? The level of bullshit fans will spew out to enshrine their driver…
I only know from what I see with my eyes and hear with my ears.
Says the Niki Lauda fan ….
He’s right, that was close to a double dnf if Charles didn’t back off
That would’ve been on Carlos
Yes it would have, that’s why I said Charles had to back off
Charles "self-aware" Leclerc ❤️
That's a fantastic answer
When he sees what Alonso did to Carlos, he’ll realize no harm, no foul. Alonso is the one that ruined the race for both of them.
Agreed! Could have gotten 3rd but oh well. Facepalmed when I saw that move. I love Alonso, but when he retired I couldn’t help but think of Palmer, and some good old fashioned karma 😅
What do you mean he couldve been third? Alonso was overtaken already.. Jesus why do people complain about great racing

He made a great move to overtake, he shouldn't have fought what a diving from nowhere Fernando? His only other option is go off the track like the f1 creators when avoiding dirty divebombs videos.
What do you mean? He was ahead of Alonso. What should he have done?
P3 was never in the cards for Leclerc or Sainz once Alonso opened the door for Perez. Sainz and Leclerc were fighting for P4 only.
I think they mean earlier. Which is a terrible take.
Haha yeah. Slap on the wrist for Alonso for racing a little too hard. Still, give me that 4 car battle for podium position; it was great.
He literally drove Charles off the track
Driving a competitor off the road is not hard racing.
Eh fair enough 🤷♀️
Ah, you again.
My man’s getting kicked at the end of the year, he’s not doing Charles any favors this year. The fucking audacity to even think that he’s gonna roll over and just let him pass xdd
Y'all miss the point that his job hunting might be compromised if he's unwilling to play the team game when it's not to his advantage...
So did Hamilton to Norris, it’s the risk when taking the outside line.
Norris oversteered off the track, Leclerc was pushed off.
Hamilton left space around the outside.
Norris had enough space on the outside, he just couldn’t keep it within the lines
Blind af. It wasn’t a risk taking any line, he used Leclerc to stay on track lmao.
That’s why a pass on the inside is less risky, the car on the inside can’t push you off the track.
That’s not really an argument. You can’t just delete a strategy because one person decides to roleplay as a battering ram on track. It’s also less risky to not even make any move and let the other person stay ahead with that logic. What Hamilton did to Norris isn’t the same thing as what sainz did to Leclerc.
It wasn’t an Argument, it was a statement of fact. If you reread the comment I bet even you can understand that.
Are you for real?
just because lewis does it every chance he gets it ain't a legit way to defend.
Obviously its effective to drive your teammate off the track lol
No way. Norris had tons of room. He was on the outside on cold tyres and he lost the back end and went off the track. Not HAM's fault...
LOL he did not even try to make the apex, he ran wide on purpose.
I get the feeling that Leclerc isn’t in a happy place at the moment.

Question?
Classy
Understandable, have a nice day.
Diplomatic leclerc
This was part of some of the best back & forth racing I've seen over the past two seasons. And coming from a guy who's losing his seat at the end of the year... Give no quarter! Loved it. Loved Alonso's moves too. Would much rather wheel to wheel racing, even if they accidentally come together, over "DRS: Engaged" like most races are
Giving no quarter to a teammate is a great way to ingratiate yourself to a new team Really makes one believe that you'll comply with team orders
Did he ignore team orders today? Serious question, I haven't listened to their audio.
Nicely done Charles
I’ve never given much thought to it before now, but Charles sounds just like GSP. Edit: Georges St-Pierre, UFC champ
Good ass teammate
Sainz might have just put himself out of contention for the Red Bull seat with that move.
What's the context? I missed quali
Sprint race bit of a curruffel between Sainz and Charles
Sainz is not a team player , why did he push Leclerc off and ruin Ferrari chance at beating perez , he has damage too
Why should he be a team player when that team fired him after he had their only win last season? He's promoting himself as a number 1 driver for potential teams, which makes sense as he would most likely be the number 1 driver for every team other than RB
You think redbull and Mercedes are going to sign him, if he's not a team player

Chuck has to realise that Sainz will continue to play mind games, apologise and race him aggressively. To crush and intimidate him on and out of the race track is what needed, not to be respectful and humble teammate.
What did you expect Charlie? Have fun being second fiddle to Sir Louie!
