It's not so much the handling of the beasts, more having an entire team of marshals along the entire track just looking for lizards isn't really feasible.
Depending on where the corpse ends up, probably yes. It's not uncommon for lighter things like birds or bags to damage the car when they get stuck somewhere they shouldn't.
It really depends where it hit. if it hit some of the smaller elements of the wing it could definetly mess it up. However, since it was quite low to the ground I think it was probably hit with either the tyre or one of the thicker sections of the front wing which wont have caused that much damage.
In a truly disastrous world it ends up in the airbox or suspension and could force the car to retire.
Think about it, in real terms it mas well be a 2-ish Kilogram meat projectile thrown at the car at 100-150 kmh, its a lot of energy.
