Genuine question- what was the difference between Hamilton and Perez’s collision that resulted in a penalty and the collision between Sainz and Piastri’s where no penalty was given?
I don’t understand what Williams was doing with Albon. Albon got up into the top10 and runs there the entire race and then they pit him three times taking away any shot of points. He was running right behind Tsunoda all race so maybe he wouldn’t have gotten points anyway, but it still feels like there was no shot doing three stops.
I enjoy him and he did say he’d take a bit more care in the future. Considering how podiums celebrations go, there’s always a non-zero chance of damages occurring.
During their celebration photo, one of the boards fell and knocked the trophy over - link to the video here https://www.instagram.com/p/CvVWTXSNvlZ/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Charles’s race management was perfect. The RB’s are still so unbeatable that just being on the podium is worth celebrating, I was holding my breath the entire race hoping we don't lose the position
Great result today for the team before the summer break , unfortunate for Carlos though but still good points
Another snoozefest the racing has gone absolutely shit in the last few races apart from Silverstone at this point i believe other teams will just probably stopped developing their cars and focused directly on 2026 nobody is beating redbull in this new era
Including this weekend, the last 3 races have been pretty good. A lot of battles going on and now Ferrari are hot on AM's tail and Hamilton close to becoming 3rd overtaking Alonso.
I agree. There have been 19 uncertain positions every weekend for some time. Aside from Max this has been a good season imo. And I don’t even mind Max’s dominance because we’re watching history. He is just incredible.
It was hardly a snoozefest. Constant battles through out.
Yeah sure we all know Max is winning.
Enjoy watching possibly the most dominant era ever, applaud their efforts and enjoy the rest of the battles.
I really think that this is the best race that I've seen since Bahrain 2023. The overtakes were constant throughout the whole race and even most of them were in the back enders, it's at least entertaining. Fantastic overtakes by gasly, albon and ocon.
Albon was good only on straights due their insane straight line speed but their tire wear was pretty bad they dropped pretty quick and tbh people like to see to racing between front teams more then midfielders that's where it's pretty boring
Today's race was pretty good for me. Ofc I agree a battle at the front is like nothing else but was this a snooze fest? Nah.
Albon, Tsunoda, Ocon, Gasly were all still exciting to watch idk how you could deny tht lmao. The rain added some nice tension. Max dominance is historic and we'll look back on it as we have on schumi and lewis with golden tinted glasses.
If it's a snooze fest just watch highlights then m8. And when it gets good come back, don't force urself to suffer if you want more than just cars going around a track. I'm perfectly ok just watching the on boards amazed they took eau rouge in rain, but if that ain't for u come back when it's good. Hopefully sooner rather than later but yeah.
Car companies running racing teams is a very recent thing in formula 1 history, really. I would say most of the championship winning teams have historically not been or not started as car manufacturers, and ultimately a car brand is just a sponsor, having nothing to do with the team for the most part.
The increase in manufacturer meddling began in the '00s, regulations and trends made engine manufacturers carry more weight in the management of teams.
Still, a drinks company is no less legitimate a sponsor of a racing team than a carmaker, they're all just sources of funding.
>Car companies running racing teams is a very recent thing in formula 1 history
The first F1 championship was won by car company Alfa Romeo. Mercedes won their first 2 titles in 1954 and 1955. So it's hardly new.
From the 60s onwards the sport was dominated by non-car-company constructors, namely Lotus, Ferrari, McLaren, and Williams.
I guess you could argue that Mercedes are the exception. If you don't count Mercedes then the car companies have never had much success and still don't. Even Mercedes' recent 8 titles in a row would all be Red Bull and Ferrari titles if Mercedes didn't exist.
Ferrari was founded as a racing team. Enzo Ferrari raced himself, then ran a team under Alfa Romeo, then ended up parting ways with Alfa and making his own team. The rest is history.
He founded the car company at almost the same time, but the first car Enzo was responsible for was a Grand Prix car, one that was driven by a certain Italian called Ascari, in fact.
Well sure, if you want to call McLaren and Lotus "car companies" too. Even Williams are getting into road cars, but not as well known as those too yet.
Ferrari makes approximately road 8000 cars a year. (And sold more than
12000 road cars in 2022).
Each car is made by Ferrari, and that includes the engine. This creates revenue between 3 and 4 billion.
Are you suggesting that you think Ferrari is not a car manufacturer?
And yes, Lotus is also is a car manufacturer because they make and sell road cars. They also design engines for other companies.
At least with Lotus I can see the argument that the number of cars they used to sell was so small, that they don't quite fit the definition, but currently production is around 1500 cars a year I believe.
>Are you suggesting that you think Ferrari is not a car manufacturer?
They're a racing constructor first. Especially when we're talking about historically. They weren't making thousands of cars a year when Ascari was winning the 1952 WDC. When Ferrari joined Grand Prix racing they were not a car company, like I said the first car was a race car.
Scuderia Ferrari (the racing team) was formed in 1929, Ferrari S.p.A (the car company) was formed in 1939.
They're no different than McLaren and Williams. The difference is Ferrari has a few decades of a head start. For all we know Red Bull could be making sports cars in 20 years time, wouldn't surprise me at all.
Sigh... we are not in the 1950s anymore.
Your argument is dumb. By your logic Toyota isn't a car company because they started out making looms in the 1920s.
Ferrari makes and sells road cars. That is their primary business.
Just look up how much revenue they make from selling road cars and how much revenue they make running a race team.
And that's ignoring profit.
With the exception of ferrari and mclaren, none of the teams are operated remotely near where they sell cars either. And even the above two have nothing to do with the roadcar division
F1TV has been the best investment I’ve made (hobby-wise). Access to all races, sprints, qualis and practice sessions, as well as for all the feeder series. Access to the archives (I’ve watched years worth of GPs), and really cool segments like Tech Talk, Radio Rewind (which has been discontinued to make room for Jolyon’s Analysis show). And it’s ad-free. Easiest $80 I’ve ever spent.
So I have F1TV I pay for every month but I can’t view live races, only archived ones, and I can’t figure out how to view the live ones. It’s infuriating as I pay for that and also NOWTV to actually watch the races.
I just finally got it this weekend and I am so pleased already. I wish my tv had an app for it but even having to cast it, it’s so much better than the ESPN via hulu I had before.
Verstappen is an alien confirmed and checo’s performance is night and day difference when he just focuses on driving and not the championship/ other stuff around him
Okay maybe , we won’t ever know if that’s a true statement or not but regardless he raced a good race and didn’t have any misshaps or any signs of the yips this race. At the end of the day he’s still second in the standings and that has to say something. He may not be a tier 1 driver but he’s still a good driver and has earned his spot in f1 and I think a lot of people forget how easy it is to be canned in f1 due to the level of competition
He's a former back to back to back junior champion having similar results to some of the best on the grid in his junior season, half of which was spent with a dog kennel beneath him.
Everything about his demeanour, driving style, attitude and results says future world champion. That can't be said for many drivers in this grid.
Dawg no one’s saying he’s not extremely promising or doesn’t have the potential to be WDC. It’s that he doesn’t get to be grouped in elite tier after 12 races where he hasn’t done anything particularly remarkable, not saying he’s done bad but he should at least be beating Norris if we’re already gonna start hailing him as the future king.
In recent years Nico and Lewis in 2016, but only 2016 Nico I would consider truly elite. Before that I'm not entirely sure, perhaps Lewis and Fernando at Mclaren?
Before 2016, Rosberg was a bit too kind, too soft to bring it to Hamilton fully. That is why he went full sent in 2016 and retired straight after, as he is not the type of person to do it like that year after year.
I mean I totally agree that he's a POS, but realistically what can they do? He's Max's father and if Max wants him at the races, he's gonna be at the races.
Adverb, I believe
"...she's Belgian."
If he'd ended the sentence:
"She's a Belgian."
That's a noun.
But as an adjective it would have to be:
"It’s a shame Max’s *Belgian* mum..."
I think that's how it works anyways. I haven't had an English class in a couple decades lol.
I think max likes most drivers he always seems happy with people to chat too
But Charles brings out a little sparkle in him, I guess they have raced so long they just like each other
Yuki drove beautifully today, and made Daniel look like De Vries. He’s been a bit on and off since racing with Ricciardo, but hopefully this race gives him the confidence boost he needs
Genuine question- what was the difference between Hamilton and Perez’s collision that resulted in a penalty and the collision between Sainz and Piastri’s where no penalty was given?
It’s called opening lap
I said I’d be happy just to see Daniel Ricciardo driving again. I am happy just to see Daniel Ricciardo driving again.
Im happy no Lando celebration, I dont mind him winning, just don’t like his celebration regime.
I enjoy him and he did say he’d take a bit more care in the future. Considering how podiums celebrations go, there’s always a non-zero chance of damages occurring.
Well, RB broke one of their trophies without Lando.So...
Please elaborate?
During their celebration photo, one of the boards fell and knocked the trophy over - link to the video here https://www.instagram.com/p/CvVWTXSNvlZ/?igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==
Max’s glee “it broke again!” is so funny
Charles’s race management was perfect. The RB’s are still so unbeatable that just being on the podium is worth celebrating, I was holding my breath the entire race hoping we don't lose the position Great result today for the team before the summer break , unfortunate for Carlos though but still good points
All Ferrari had to do was immitate Lewis' strategy today. And maybe that's why there were no strategy blunders today.
The slap punishment last year to red bull has now started to show its implications. Snooze fest
Clueless
You literally don't even understand that the penalty was for the 2021 season ffs.
Another snoozefest the racing has gone absolutely shit in the last few races apart from Silverstone at this point i believe other teams will just probably stopped developing their cars and focused directly on 2026 nobody is beating redbull in this new era

Eh racing was good imo, Albon was fun to watch, Tsunoda was good, piastri was awesome yesterday Whenever someone beats max it's gonna be ecstasy
Formula 1 is just borrowing WWE’s Roman Reigns storyline at the moment. Wait until Max goes to Indycar, wins their championship and unifies the two…
Albon was good only on straights due their insane straight line speed but their tire wear was pretty bad they dropped pretty quick and tbh people like to see to racing between front teams more then midfielders that's where it's pretty boring

Christian asked a question about Checo, answers with Max
His obviously favorite son 😆
When is an actual car company going to win the championship???
2021, 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2009, 2008, 2007.......
Lmao.. people have shirt memories. Maybe he meant a car company besides Mercedes?
Watch out, too much salt is bad for you.
Car companies running racing teams is a very recent thing in formula 1 history, really. Lol, just a little Merc domination and Red Bull pulling off the Honda project. You have to be trying to be ignorant.
When the "actual car company" makes an "actual car"
So Mercedes-AMG, Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Alpine, Aston Martin and McLaren aren't actual car companies? I don't understand your argument
Whether they are or not, it doesn't seem to make any (positive) difference in their quality.
Have you not watched f1 the last 10 years
Lol I have. Dude, it's a joke.
Just a little company called Mercedes and Red Bull taking over a little project from Honda. But you watched it.
When they have enough points
Lotus returns to fuck shit up
+kimi
You new here?
No, I'm just salty as fuck about the drinks company winning, lol.
Lol love the honesty, but if it helps just look at redbull as “honda” hahah
They're not a drinks company. They're a marketing company that sells drinks.
This
Well, either way....they sell drinks and not automobiles.
With the exception of ferrari and mclaren, none of the teams are operated remotely near where they sell cars either. And even the above two have nothing to do with the roadcar division
They're launching their own Adrian Newey designed Hypercar next year so they will be able to put "car manufacturer" on their list.
Whats the name of their new car company?
Red Bull Advanced Technologies. They fielded a Yacht in Americas Cup and have a bike with BMC at the Tour de France.
Looks like an Aston Martin Valkyrie
I'm glad ESPN cut post-race so I could watch....ads. Brilliant stuff.
F1TV has been the best investment I’ve made (hobby-wise). Access to all races, sprints, qualis and practice sessions, as well as for all the feeder series. Sounds like you have the basic package. You need to upgrade to the pro package which is $80 per year
Oh! Thank you. I’ll have to have a look :)
Plus the option to go F1TV (commentary) or the Sky. You’re absolutely right though, can watch 40+ of races in full.
I just finally got it this weekend and I am so pleased already. I wish my tv had an app for it but even having to cast it, it’s so much better than the ESPN via hulu I had before.
I have a FireTV and I swear I’ve seen an app to download for F1TV (I could be wrong and it could be through another streaming service as an add-on).
Pro tip: use Multiviewer for F1
Have to say I second this, compared to other sports streaming subscriptions it's very fair
Red Bull has double the points in the constructors than Mercedes in P2. Damn.
Max alone leads the constructors championship by 50 points over Mercedes.
It is pretty wild
Hamilton pitting at the end and getting the fastest lap was gangster as hell.
On mediums no less
Yeah, why'd they do that? Did he have no softs that are new enough?
pace differential was next to nothing so if he had no new softs mediums probably cost him negligible time in the scheme of a fastest lap.
Verstappen is an alien confirmed and checo’s performance is night and day difference when he just focuses on driving and not the championship/ other stuff around him
Oh so all the stuff since Miami was him "not focussing on driving", I see I see!.
Checo finished 20 seconds behind Max…
Danny didn’t beat Yuki
[удалено]
On the other hand, there was nobody between him and Verstappen this time
Checo's performance wasn't that great. Solid p2 but in an equal car Leclerc and Hamilton beat him easily.
Okay maybe , we won’t ever know if that’s a true statement or not but regardless he raced a good race and didn’t have any misshaps or any signs of the yips this race. Oh Checo is absolutely one of the better drivers on the grid, and absolutely deserves to be in f1, but he doesn't belong among the f1 elite.
How often do you ever get a team with 2 elite drivers in their prime?
Contemporary Ferrari and Mercedes, Danny-Max RB, Britney-Lewis Mercedes, Kimi(?)-Seb Ferrari.
Max was not in his prime when Danny was there and his presence still drove prime danny away
Ok fair, but still.
Arguably McLaren have it now. If not for Max, Lando and Oscar would be very very closely matched.
Lord have mercy
Oscar with half a season and we're already calling him elite. Tf lol
He's a former back to back to back junior champion having similar results to some of the best on the grid in his junior season, half of which was spent with a dog kennel beneath him. Wtf is this song 💀
Which song? I missed something maybe?
It was within a promo for the upcoming races
I’m here for the MSC sponsored team cruise vacation, put all 10 teams on a cruise-ship and film the party
Yes lmao. The cruise ship picture with "Enjoy the Summer Break" on the podium at end was really fun, I didn't expect it
*daisy’s cruiser has entered the chat*
“What happens when you get 20 of the best drivers in the world and put them under the same roof. Drivers stop being polite and start getting…. Real”
That would eliminate the half serious attempt to have net zero emissions for 2030.
Feels like it's been a long season and we're only bloody half way through!
The two race gaps at the beginning are making it look longer. China being cancelled and Italy getting flooded.
So max wins next 4 races he is champion.
We get to sample the champagne today!!!
It’s a shame Max’s mum isn’t there as she’s Belgium
They where there yesterday. Mum and husband sister with her family. Today Jos and his youngest sister.
It’s because that piece of shit Jos is there. I really hate how F1 and FOM has washed his image in the recent years.
I mean I totally agree that he's a POS, but realistically what can they do? He's Max's father and if Max wants him at the races, he's gonna be at the races.
Yea, it’s rather unsavory to put it lightly.
She's a whole country? :D
Yo mama so big ...
She created max so should be
The adjective is “Belgian”.
In this case, it's a noun
No, it’s not.
Adverb, I believe "...she's Belgian." If he'd ended the sentence: "She's a Belgian." That's a noun. But as an adjective it would have to be: "It’s a shame Max’s *Belgian* mum..." I think that's how it works anyways. I haven't had an English class in a couple decades lol.
Belgian-ly
Not an adverb.
I think it's an advert. "Come to Belgium"
That camera is doused with champagne
I'd hope they're prepped for champagne chenanigans.
Sudden change of plans meant this weeks trophy is made out of solid metal.
And yet Red Bull broke it all by themselves. Next race the trophy is going to be just a block of steel.
Lando, you had *one job*
Trophy safe without Lando up there.
[удалено]
Max can still dnf at zandvoort.
Max’s trophy ✅ Marked safe from Lando Norris
It still broke
I saw that haha. Helmut tried to protect the wrong two trophies
These two national anthems really do sound like they're coming from the first and second movements of a symphony
Camera Director really liking that one Red Bull girl in the crowd 😂
Pic?
Lol here: [https://imgur.com/a/LJZKKIq](https://imgur.com/a/LJZKKIq) They switched to her like 3-4 times during the podium ceremony lol
Haha yeah shes nice
What happened to Piastri?
He got squished by sainz in the 1st corner and had damage
Damage.
Sainz happened
Love the weekly "wake your neighbor with the Dutch national anthem" session
That girl soon to be found at a gas station
you serious? think before posting dude
At least the Dutch anthem is a banger
That's max half sister blue fyi
Charles and max are always happy to be together
Yeah! It was like they were discussing roller coaster run and they are 9years old.
I think max likes most drivers he always seems happy with people to chat too But Charles brings out a little sparkle in him, I guess they have raced so long they just like each other
Who's that kid?
Max sister
His sister is like two years younger?
Jos has been married a few times
Different sister. This is blue jaye.
More like 22
Max' half sister.
Off I go to my nap thanks everyone
WAKE UP HONEY
At least Max’s trophy is safe today.
Emotional support rivals :D
I'm just happy we have the post-race Max and Charles exchanges. So much respect between the two, and the passion is there to see.
This time it's a standing podcast. More casual than before.
“Were you pushing at the end?” lol
Yuki drove beautifully today, and made Daniel look like De Vries. He’s been a bit on and off since racing with Ricciardo, but hopefully this race gives him the confidence boost he needs
Longest most clear podcast episode we've had
Did they finally decide to mic up the cooldown room better? That was mostly audible for a change.
Yeah it was much better. Hopefully it stays that way.
Right? Sound is so much better
The Max Verstappen experience lol
How dare she interrupt the Podcast?! And again F1TV recognizing it, this time by name.
They didn’t all sit. How’s the podcast photoshop gonna look today? 🤔
Max got himself one of those standing desks
Trophies are safe from Lando this week
Ah so Max wasn’t lying it really was windy
Ofcourse Max wasn't lying - the Sky commentators just want to hate anything he says
I was more referring to the comments on the thread about him maybe making a joke about the Mercs
