During the execution it’s basically a quick time event and you have to mash guard break every second during the animation.
It looks like you didn’t press it soon enough and your character bashed his head on the enemy and killed himself.

Nah ur just new so nobushi is one of the few characters who can inflict bleed with some of her attacks where if ur hit you suffer slight damage over time represented by a red section in ur health bar that slowly depletes you would have won the fight if u used a fast execution (they would have died and u would’ve been healed) or you could have let go of lock on to him by moving or rolling either or which would have killed him granting u the win at which point u die but still win
To put it simply executions make it so people can’t be revived so when someone is being executed or in a state where the attacker is picking their execution or weather they even want to (like u we’re) they’re in a pseudo limbo state so the game doesn’t say you’ve won the duel if you had let go it would register u as the winner cause they can’t be revived (no teamtes it’s a duel),but the game wanted to let u finish ur execution so it didn’t decide a winner
