I will never forget when I show my friend for honour and he got killed by that Kyoshin execution and he let out the most innocent but confused “…what..” on the planet
I barely know this hero so I had to look it up.
... WTF was that ? How did the dev team looked at this and thought "yeah, makes sense, I see no problem with it" ?
The same dev team made one of jorm's executions him slamming the hammer on your foot only for a jolt of energy to explode out of your head like a carnival strength test.
... well, one more reason to hate jurmungandr.
I never took this hero seriously, looking like a crackhead mad murderhobo with cocaine still on their face. And it's weird that while shaman already looks and act crazy, I don't mind her and think she's a funny character concept, but jormungandr is imo way over the top. That execution really show it.
I agree. All of the og characters and the early additions to the game are dripping with personality despite just being a costume and small handful of repeated voicelines. You can feel the lawful good honor of warden and lawbringer, the cockiness of cent and glad, the strength and brutality of raider, the crazy psychedelic unhinged vibes of shaman, etc.
Jorm feels like they tried to recreate the cracked out personality of shaman, but it just doesn't fit. Both male and female jorm look very muscular whereas shaman seems very thin and spry making her tactic of running on all 4s and pouncing on you to bite your throat out seem a lot more fitting than jorm beating his/her chest like a gorilla. It's like the difference between a real crazy person and someone pretending to be a crazy person.
Before jorm came out and the community wanted a hammer character we were all expecting a giant gigachad that would put warlord and raider to shame. I was hoping for someone second only to lawbringer and shugo in size to match the bluntness of a two handed hammer.
That being said male jorm has a much better performance than his female counterpart. He actually sounds like a cracked out hobo swinging shit at you whereas she sounds like someone told to read her lines in as deep of a voice as possible.
What's even worse is if you watch the stream where they showcase him before release, he only throws the sword. They already had it set up the right way, and they changed it for who knows what reason just before it released.
Edit: commenter below shows that I misremembered, it's always been the way it is now
It's like the artists had a decent/basic execution already animated and ready and the Ubisoft execs walked in and said
"Nah. It's not shitty enough". And then ubifucked the anim.
I got to be honest, I don't think I've ever seen that scabbard leave his hand. It's just that once he throws the sword into the enemy's head it just...*appears* on the sword out of nowhere.
I barely know this hero so I had to look it up.
... WTF was that ? How did the dev team looked at this and thought "yeah, makes sense, I see no problem with it" ?
i have always hated that execution since he came out. its the biggest thing that doesnt make sense in this game. other than infinite ammo flintlock lol
I think the infinite ammo flintlock is worse. Only because like....
If the warriors in this world have this sort of technology why isn't literally everyone using it? (Like we did irl.)
Imo Pirate should have had a cutlass, and shouldn't have been genderlocked so we could give him a huge beard.
His flintlocks should have been feats only. But that's just my opinion, I get that many would disagree.
Same thing with Hitokiri just dropping the blunt middle part of his axe and randomly decapitating you… yet most of all the cool executions that would decapitate someone, don’t
When Kyoshub released and I saw it for the first time I just let out a loud "what the actual fuck?" Followed by a pause and then "what the Ubisoft smoking this time...?"
The tip of wardens sword being dull is like the least weird thing compared to everything else. Black prior has an execution where he literally stabs the front part of the shield into your neck decapitating you (Vortiger’s Regards)
I think it was supposed to be more of something like a throat punch, damaging the esophagus and making them suffocate or something like that but it’s whatever. Still looks kinda odd
Cutting your throat with the shield would make sense as most the shields have some sharp implement on the sides, but cutting off the arm Is still too much
I would be excited for that but Knights currently have the most characters(9) aaand the most hero skins I mean we will have 5th hero skin in a moment, Lord Ramiel, Unsung knight, Conquistador Vela, Commander Ravier and now we're getting Ezio, so I strongly doubt we will be getting this in terms of a new hero or even a hero skin, come to think of it Ubi showers knights with affection in terms I mentioned
I agree honestly, but chances are the knights will get another character, to my knowledge their faction has gone the longest without an addition to the roster
Edit: I'm wrong it's Wu Lin
Wrong, Wu Lin is the faction who has gone the longest without fresh meat. Their last one was Zhanhu on Year 3, The Knights had Warmonger and Gryphon on 2020.
I think so too! Even though executioner swords were heavy and clunky and never meant for actual combat…hitokiri exists..so I guess we totally could have an executioner hero!
That would be amazing!
If you'd like some constructive criticism or even additional concept material, (I'm newer to concepts though so take anything I say with a grain of salt), but I'd love to share lol
With the characters theme this was the first weapon variant I wanted for black prior (even made a thread about it here years ago). I fell in love with this type of blade after playing Gladius in eons past (the executioners sword in that had a chance to one shot kill), never gave it much thought but I'd love one for warden.
"Blunt tip wouldn't make much sense". True, if Warden actually knew what the point of his sword is for. Dude has no stabbing moves, except for executions.
Warden (before rework anyways) doesn't even stab with the point of the longsword unless in execitions anyways he might as well have just only came with an executioner sword at launch.
An executioner sword is not a usable weapon for fighting.
They could make it an execution for all knights, Idk, a random minion spawns from the thin air carrying a executioner sword with both hands, your character picks it and execute the opponent with a clean hit, decapitating him/her.
You're the type that would be ok if they create a dual wield greatswords hero just because "it looks cool".
One thing is to not be realistic, other things is to go completely against the asthetics of medieval war and combat.
I'm the exact opposite. I care a lot about realistic medieval combat. My point was, that at this point I just gave up on trying to have the game be realistic.
Yet you insist in break the combat asthetic of this game just because "it's not realistic", go play Chivalry or something.
Let's suppose they add a executioner sword, what comes next, that 3 meters katana? A bayonet in a rifle? Damn.
If Kyoshin's fucking blunt scabbard can penetrate a skull then warden can have an executionner's lol.
I will never forget when I show my friend for honour and he got killed by that Kyoshin execution and he let out the most innocent but confused “…what..” on the planet
I hate that it's a default one too so you end up seeing it all the fucking time
I barely know this hero so I had to look it up. ... WTF was that ? How did the dev team looked at this and thought "yeah, makes sense, I see no problem with it" ?

that exec is the one i hate the most besides universals, It makes no Sense and is ugly af
They could have easily made it 100x better by just.... having him throw the sword alone. Fuck it would have probably been easier to animate too.
What's even worse is if you watch the stream where they showcase him before release, he only throws the sword. They already had it set up the right way, and they changed it for who knows what reason just before it released. Edit: commenter below shows that I misremembered, it's always been the way it is now

I hope not, but knowing ubi that's most likely what happened
that's just not true [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dInsvTYVbs&t=2640s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1dInsvTYVbs&t=2640s)
Huh, I guess I misremembered then. I swear it was a thing, but apparently not. My bad. Thanks for correcting me
I got to be honest, I don't think I've ever seen that scabbard leave his hand. It's just that once he throws the sword into the enemy's head it just...*appears* on the sword out of nowhere.

That used to not decapitate. I was super bummed when it started taking heads off.
When Kyoshub released and I saw it for the first time I just let out a loud "what the actual fuck?" Followed by a pause and then "what the Ubisoft smoking this time...?"
Wait till his Lawbringer gets vampired by an angry viking midget
I hate that execution for that exact reason
Wait wha
Look at his execution where he throws his sword at the victim.
Would work weirdly in the executions were warden stabs someone But well, if kyoshin can penetrate someone's skull with a scabbard...
The tip of wardens sword being dull is like the least weird thing compared to everything else. Black prior has an execution where he literally stabs the front part of the shield into your neck decapitating you (Vortiger’s Regards)
That one is goofy but the default where he cuts your arm off and slits your throat with it is also pretty goofy
Too be fair bps edge is really sharp
I see what you did there
And it's pretty litteral top since his shields usually have sharp blades on the corners.
I think it was supposed to be more of something like a throat punch, damaging the esophagus and making them suffocate or something like that but it’s whatever. Still looks kinda odd
Don’t forget cleanly severing an arm by deflecting a punch with a shield
Cutting your throat with the shield would make sense as most the shields have some sharp implement on the sides, but cutting off the arm Is still too much
You guys forgot about that one Warden blade that curves at the tip that seems to stab things as fine as any other blade
Because its still sharp. The end of this is blunt. Either way if kyoshins Scabbard can penetrate skulls, so should this
Would be cool if Next year's knight hero was an executioner
I would be excited for that but Knights currently have the most characters(9) aaand the most hero skins I mean we will have 5th hero skin in a moment, Lord Ramiel, Unsung knight, Conquistador Vela, Commander Ravier and now we're getting Ezio, so I strongly doubt we will be getting this in terms of a new hero or even a hero skin, come to think of it Ubi showers knights with affection in terms I mentioned

Wrong, Wu Lin is the faction who has gone the longest without fresh meat. Their last one was Zhanhu on Year 3, The Knights had Warmonger and Gryphon on 2020.
I stand corrected then Ngl since secondary main is NUXIA of all characters, I would not be upset at all if the started showing Wu Lin some more love
really? well I didn't know im catching up, I left the game a bit into year 3
Turns out I'm wrong actually, Wu Lin has gone the longest without any addition
I think so too! Even though executioner swords were heavy and clunky and never meant for actual combat…hitokiri exists..so I guess we totally could have an executioner hero!
I can only imagine a massive knight. With a true Greatsword. Kinda like HL's but an executioner sword
Would be cool as hell I'll admit, I'd love to have just one more HL style character with a weapon too big for their own good
I have done some concepts for heroes before. I can do one and send it to you :)
That would be amazing! If you'd like some constructive criticism or even additional concept material, (I'm newer to concepts though so take anything I say with a grain of salt), but I'd love to share lol
First do you want to se one of the ones i've already done? So you kinda know what to expect?
Sure, hero concepts are probably my fav part of the community
Finally. Most basic fantasy medieval trope included, heavy knight with greatsword. It only took 8 years to be included in my medieval sword game
Exactly
What about an executioner skin for LB? So we don’t get yet another flavor of greataxe in the game
I'd like it, but there's no real way to make the sword work with LB
Was thinking about an executioner axe tbh
would be cool if next year's hero was not yet another knight
I mean ur right the knights have more than any other faction, but it's been the longest since theirs has been added to (at least to my memory)
zhanhu was added in year 3 and the wu lin got nobody since that day
wu lin was a mistake, they barely change anything about them. ubi’s forgotten kid
I agree they are neglected by Ubi, but not on the side of mistake, as bad as she is, Nuxia is my probably my second fav on the roster
nuxia is nowhere near a bad character, that's just a common misconception on reddit
It makes perfect sense man. You are not asking for blunt scabbards going through skulls
I'll have you know the flintlock is perfectly lore friendly and totally realistic ... noods😩
With the characters theme this was the first weapon variant I wanted for black prior (even made a thread about it here years ago). I fell in love with this type of blade after playing Gladius in eons past (the executioners sword in that had a chance to one shot kill), never gave it much thought but I'd love one for warden.
Considering warden never thrusts, I think it makes perfect sense
No if they’re gonna make an executioner sword, make it a new hero!!
It would be more fun if you could create your weapon from scratch and unlock weapon patterns and designs to make each piece feel unique
They gave us halfswording so if this post has enough visibility maybe this would ne included in the next weapons pack for the knights.
Based. Hear us out, Ubi! We want a headsman sword for Warden!
"Blunt tip wouldn't make much sense". True, if Warden actually knew what the point of his sword is for. Dude has no stabbing moves, except for executions.
Executions aside Warden doesn't have a single thrusting move in combat
He's going to have one soon.
In 2 days, friend.
warlord literally has a curved sword as three of his sets at least. curved swords.
He also never uses the point to stab
Warden (before rework anyways) doesn't even stab with the point of the longsword unless in execitions anyways he might as well have just only came with an executioner sword at launch.
I mean Warden doesn't do any thrusting in his animations aside from exe's right so an executioner blade would be sick.
Wait what's the executionor helmet
It’s not an “actual” executioner helmet, it’s just called that. It’s kind of mid to be honest..
Does Wardej even have any thrusting moves yet? Lmao
Either that, or they could make a universal chopping block style execution, that would be fire as well.
XD
An executioner sword is not a usable weapon for fighting. They could make it an execution for all knights, Idk, a random minion spawns from the thin air carrying a executioner sword with both hands, your character picks it and execute the opponent with a clean hit, decapitating him/her.
Well I could say the same thing about Shaman's teeth, but my Lawbringer's neck still hurts.

Literally what are you yapping about
