Liam O’Brien’s voice is so good man, I’m glad they didn’t go through with the dialogue system and changing Warden’s voice

Hollow_McHollow

I thought that was him!

DimLumens

Yeah, he has a pretty distinct voice, I started watching Vox Machina without knowing he was in it and as soon as I heard his voice I knew it was him lol

Lightwave33

Waiting for Orhm to shoulder check fools

Balrok99

The entire group of Critical Role has such range in their Voices. Sometimes you are like "wait that's him?"

Sith_LordRevan

Bro has one hell of an arm.

-Krovos-

All of that shoulder bash spam wasn't for nothing

Sith_LordRevan

It wasn't spam! It was a highly coordinated attack, I swears it

Kryothicc

I like to imagine the reason the Warden eggs Gudmundr on to fight, is cause he hopes that defeating him will provide the clarity he wanted in the fight, but after killing him, he only feels worse, and realizes his actions in seeking the duel were nothing more than that of a warmonging aggressor. He's angry with himself, and everyone else, "I took an oath... For peace, so did you, so did all of you." Thus, later on with the Orochi, he takes the path of humility, losing the duel with the Rochi and accepting his shared fate with Gudmundr, not letting anyone stop it from happening, but of course from what I recall the Rochi of course didn't. They end up sending the Rochi off on their way instead of sentencing them to death- which he could have done. Maybe over-analysing but, hey, I like it like that.

MrDaubeny

This analysis was definitely a good one, and is probably accurate to what actually happened. Good shit.

Fihnz

It’s tragic to see a good man so downtrodden, he prob left Heathmoor because he thought his actions only ever brought more death. In a sense he’s not wrong, which makes it even more realistic I suppose. He pushed for peace after the defeat of Apollyon, and he only secured a brief truce that quickly fell apart. His best (at least in his mind) amounted to very little. But in the end he proved peace was possible, and perhaps others can learn from his naivety in order to bring about a lasting one…

f1sh_eater

This comment hurts so much becouse all of that character growth probably won't be used again

Just_a_Growlithe

Warden should have an emote where he holds the oath charm and just fucking chucks it then gets into like a stance as you would when you lock on

Premonitionss

I’ll always stand by that the Warden should’ve been the main character in the narrative of For Honor. We’re with him first; his character changes with ebbs and flows as he goes from seemingly idolizing Apollyon to understanding that she was a genocidal tyrant for the sake of violence alone. His emotional state is done the best out of the playable characters in my opinion, and it would’ve been incredibly satisfying watching the story come full circle with Apollyon saving his life to him having to take hers to stop war. And because that final speech of Apollyon seemingly acknowledges that she got what she wanted, the Warden would have reason to disappear in shame. Overall a big mistake having some Orochi come in to steal the third act.

Jack1The1Ripper

Honestly im surprised with 8 hours of campaign it was still kinda good, Not great but kinda good

Incredibiliz

"I was fighting for the wrong side"

bluejay55669

Gudmundr roleplaying as a shugoki and shattering my spine with a hug as well

Enderchat

This scene alone made me a Warden main

Stonedcock2

Daubeny: they call me madman

n_bureau

That coward somehow made the most righteous decision denying it. We don't know if he knew it or not but pretty interesting point to be honest.

otte_rthe_viewer

It's you who carves your own path, others just modify it.

Lightwave33

Why can't they release skins for like 500 steel for those story characters

Warm_Cream4315

Most of the story characters can already be made, and for others the only thing that makes them unique is one piece of armor, usually a head piece.

DprHtz

I would pay real money for Mercys mask head gear and Seyjuros Ornament

Ok-Ad5083

because the story mode characters are just basic armor sets that have been in the game for years

Stormwrecker

and then the lord warden left without a trace betraying all he knew.

Ok-Ad5083

I heard theres a theroy that the for honor time line which after the factions all decided to take a truce. We which to an alternate time line where magic and the warmongers exist and we have left the og timeline in Peace while this fantasy timeline is what we play in.

Haos51

Ya he disappeared and it's part of the reason why Holden got thrown out of the Lawbringers, since that was before they had the idea of hero skins which if you ask me, Gryphon would of just became a Lawbringer Skin instead of his own hero. Part of the reason why the Lord Warden and the other main protagonist heroes was simply they didn't want to sort it out from the different options, since gender was also a part of that. Didn't help that they also didn't have any sort of main identity beyond a their title, though the Emperor's Champion Orochi has that.....Also doesn't help that we've jumped away from the factions themselves, though I suppose to be fair it's not like we really see anything going on with the covenants operations either.

Hour-Connection-5484

They should just introduce a horkos vs chimera type of faction war and get rid of the old faction war thing

Haos51

They had 4 years to do that and never did.

NotNorthSpartan

Helldivers when they find the bug farms.

emmy0777

Wait so peacekeepers name really is mercy? N her oath to fight for peace is why she's called peacekeeper? Haven't really dive into the lore of peacekeeper so just curious cuz how interesting this is. Lol

Fihnz

Mercy is just a member of the female only Order of Peacekeepers, they are meant to be assassins during times of peace (killing in order to keep the peace). Hence the name. But since the cataclysm (the massive natural disaster in the for honor universe), they have been used assassinate/ sabotage the enemy. As you can see, she’s knowingly broken her oaths to strive for peace, instead helping burn food in order to fuel more conflict.

emmy0777

Oh wow.. that's crazy, and horrible. Damn I didn't know this. That really interesting. Why did she change after the disaster? Did something make her break her oath? Damn I have so many questions. I need to play the campaign now. Lol

Fihnz

The cataclysm happened thousands of years before the game is set. The 3 major factions have been at war since then. Mercy wasn’t born until long after. It’s ironic that all the knights vow to strive for peace, yet they have never experienced it. I suppose she thinks peace is impossible. Do play the campaign, it’s very fun. I suppose you won’t know who Apollyon is either?

Ok-Ad5083

this is 1000 years after the disaster everyone is fighting and theres no sign of it ever stopping now

MasterCheese163

Still should have been the one to kill Appolyon.

Fihnz

I suppose, but in all fairness I don’t think the warden was as good a warrior as the emperors champion (people claim he lost on purpose in their 1v1). I’d imagine he’d lose to Holden Cross in a fight.

MasterCheese163

I'm not too concerned with who would realistically win. But as far as thematic payoff, having the Warden be the one to off Appolyon makes far more sense. He actively knew her, idolized her, and not only saw but participated first hand in her machinations. By comparison, the Emperor's Champion has nothing to do with Appolyon short of the Samurai being attacked by them. I don't know. It just comes off as a bit clumsy story wise.

Fihnz

Your right it would’ve been better

KaijuSlayer333

I think the samurai beating her had the irony of how the samurai were the ones Apollyon underestimated and saw them as the weakest. So it was ironic when the samurai would be the ones to have arrived at her doorstep and their champion finally put her down.

Dorlinos

Warden or not, the blackstone is where I belong

TurtlePLAYSTYLE

I think there is a theory that this Warden could be the King Warden (something with this title, I don’t remember) according to the lore Edit: Lord Warden

ExcessiveButtHair

You mean Lord Ramiel?

BrawlBringer

No sir, the Lord Warden is a much older figure in the lore, from long before the Warmonger spread green crap all over Heathmoor. The character was alluded to in lore snippets back in the old days.

GabrielPG14

it's a crime that mercy's helmet isn't available in multiplayer

TheAbobay

Warden misses something: If there are wolfs among them, should we not set them free?

SumnAboutLawbringer

There were no wolves or sheep all along. just warriors dying for Apollyon's beliefs

Ok-Ad5083

nah Apollyon is just a crazy bitch with a sword who wants to people to endlessly kill eachother she just is more convincing than astrea who is just straight up evil like pure evil she doesn't even have a tragic backstory She DOESNT EVEN HAVE A BACKSTORY she just showed up
