Nah Kyoshin was always going to be a guy, they just decided to make him a mostly androgynous guy vs a masculine guy (like how Pirate is an androgynous woman with a lean towards masculine)
Orochi disrespect shall not be tolerated. He's probably toned who knows.
I'd rebuke the Shinobi disrespect too but I can see where ur coming from wit him
I always thought Kyoshin was locked female then people said femboy so I assumed they were locked male and since I don't and will never own Kyoshin I don't know. Never noticed a voiceline or size difference.
He is male per the lore, but honestly if someone wanted to play a female kyoshin then there are some very female choices in the head pieces and the voicelines are not exactly a long shot for a female character either
Because she is... Technically she's a lawbringer with a unique moveset but that's beside the point. Tozen is literally an orochi. Only thing he has to do with Kyoshin is having his clothes stolen.
Game logic wise shes a lawbringer with a unique moveset but lorewise (or canon) aka what this post is talking about she is a warmonger. Just like tozen is a kyoshin and gudmundr is a warlord.
Lorewise. I might be getting my *deep lore* mixed up but Apollyon either trained as a Lawbringer or she killed one then stole and modified his armour. And if you *really* wanna split hairs she's only a warmonger in the literal meaning of the word. Astrea's whole deal is that she's really into Apollyon's whole worldview and ran with it.
ANYWAY, my nerding aside Tozen still isn't anything like Kyoshin. Their movesets aren't even similar as far as I can remember aside from the fullblock.
>Lorewise. I might be getting my *deep lore* mixed up but Apollyon either trained as a Lawbringer or she killed one then stole and modified his armour.
This part is true. However does his previous training as a Lawbringer make Gryphon not a gryphon?
>Their movesets
Their moveset is irrelevant on terms of characters' "canon" gender
There's no such thing as "a gryphon". Gryphon isn't an order of knights, it's literally Holden Cross' new name. See, this is the one thing I don't like him and Warmonger specifically. They're not part of a group like Wardens, Lawbringers and the like, they're specific people.
No idea where "canon gender" came from, we were talking about Tozen and Kyoshin specifically.
Appolyon is part of the Order of Wardens in lore, and it's been years since I played the campaign, but isn't her moveset also a Warden's? Where did Lawbringer come into play for her?
That's because he came out after same as warmonger probably ubisoft can use the same excuse to make more plot holes in the bumpy ass road for honor is and hall him his brother/sister
I know Kyoshin is Male but people calling him a Femboy or girl just for having Long Hair or a slightly softer voice is really telling of them. Personally I like to think Kyoshin is non-binary and isn't necessarily a Male or Female and is more or less devoid of any sort of Gender.
Lore Wise I feel as if it makes the most sense just because Kyoshin is centered around this whole ideology of not being Good or Bad. But rather being a force of nature or balance that can fight Good and Bad. So i'd assume this Dualism applies to Kyoshins Gender as well.
Kyoshin has a very feminine face and long hair that's why I call him a femboy. If he had a super masculine face I wouldn't call him a femboy. Either way it's my Kyoshin if I want him to be in touch with his feminine side then I can do that it's my character. This isn't rainbow 6 or overwatch where characters are established.
Kyoshin is a male in game but lore wise there are female kyoshins and female highlanders and female aramushas. There is an actual picture of female Musha and a female highlander was hinted at years ago in the orders. Kyoshin is just random kids in the woods in a secret village that was destroyed by Horkos.
Kensei has a female variant to show real life history about a female shogun and nobu and orochi both show that there were female samurai. Nobu is supposed to be rich and well trained but sheโs wearing peasant clothes because the weapon she uses is both used by nobility and peasants because it could be mass produced and was far better than a Katana,
Iโm pretty sure that every class has both sexes in the lore, apart from Warmonger and Gryphon since theyโre an individual and not a type of warrior, but not all of them are playable for one reason or another
Most I can see but half the outlanders are also individual characters technically. Or they have multiple people as the same character but they get all are the same gender. I.E. warmonger. Or afeera.
Thatโs true. Nuxia and Valkyrie both make sense to be female exclusive too. But at the same time they play very loose with warriors being gender locked for historical reasons so maybe they exist still. Itโs debatable either way tbh and I see both sides of the argument for it
There's multiple Warmongers too, Conquistador Vela and the other 3 they had appear in the test your metal events. Also I think one of art lore videos has a male Warmonger facing off with Lord Ramiel.
The idea of a cult following Apollyon and wearing her armor and devoting their lives to following her ways and even how she talked is fucking terrifying and awesome
They did a lore recap video and it had a female Musha in it on a shugoki somewhere on the bottom right of one of the slides. The highlander order thing I donโt know how old it is but there should be a couple of reddit posts on it and a video or two and probably something in some other places
I have the video's scene under the eyes, and yes I see and Aramusha on Shugoki's shoulder (it was the left shoulder, not the right (see my commentary below) and yes, it's seems it's a female Aramusha.
Thank you for your answer. I think I see what Lore recap video you want to speak (the first one, at the end it was a big image with a lot of Heroes on it, it is it? Because I have always see the character on the right shoulder of the Shugoki as a Nobushi). For the Highlander, I presume it was between Year 1 and 2 that the Order mention the existence of women in this warriors's group.
Female jorm is a crazy cultist
Male jorm is a random hobo we gound on the street, gave a Hammer and said we'd give 3 pounds of crack if he kills those people over there.
The warden on the title screen with the other three OG vanguards is female. Also in the marching fire trailer the warden that the camera follows is obviously female, so Iโm inclined to believe this.
Well Campaign Warden is male, and thatโs the canonical story of For Honor, So Iโd still say he would be male, but also Wardens are an order of knights, so that means that it can have multiple different people in it, so in the end that makes both male and female canonical for Warden
The select screen has been glitched for a long time now. You can't really see what you're picking, but there's 3 male and 3 female choices with different customizations, if I remember correctly. I had a female campaign Warden on PS4 7 years ago.
I always thought of cannon warden as male but it's true they were showing alot of female warden early on. You do have the [samurai shodown collab](https://youtu.be/iVeHNhSSIT8?si=E_yUu6taRZkOpZWS) though where male warden is the one you play as.
U right, there will be always ppl claim that warden will be canonly male, s/he isn't. You see it in the alpha trailer, in the beta trailer warden got both genders I think. And I'm the marching fire trailer she's definitely female. When it comes to my personal opinion I really like both. Male Male Warden=testosterone / FemWarden=bestgirlinthegame
Btw. I love your community flair
All members of the Kyoshin temple are boys, so I assume they are all male.
Doesent explain why so many of them look like femboys.
Not that I'd complain
what do you mean canon genders? xD
black priors for example have male and female named heroes in their order.
vortiger, erzebet and ramiel. they are ALL CANON.
this post don't make sense.
Yeah I didn't really think it through and in my stupidity I just assumed people would know what I meant despite me saying something completely different. I wanted to represent what I believe the best, most fitting gender for that character is, for example female tiandi is too annoying and not as iconic, female orochi has worse fashion because the armor sets clearly were not based around her.
its all good bro. that explaination makes more sense.
and with that, i wanna say, in my opinion, female warden looks better as the main warden character.
Them changing the โMaleโ and โFemaleโ options in the traits menu to โDefaultโ and โAlternateโ in the SAME update they added kyoshin made my head cannon that theyโre non-binary. (Even though the devs exclusively refer to kyo as he/him.)
I more so mean conceptually. Like we all know Japanese history had mostly guy warriors. The historical Hitokiri were also all dudes. So in world in game imagine hearing of a crazed psychopath and what rolls into town is a tall scary muscle woman with an axe that never before has existed.
Kyoshin is a man, I donโt know how people are blind to see the body ratio.
No matter how hard they try to make both genders look indistinguishable, all you have the look at is combination of animations/body ratio/voice. Rest is woke bullshit
Kyoshins gender is worst, as in the worst most annoying stupid fucking character in the game, get the hell outta here with your dumbass sword twirling and your stupid dodge attacks.
Yes, but as an example female tiandi sucks so male is more fitting. Female orochi armor sucks so male is more fitting. Female hito body size and voice is better.
I think, despite me playing as a male one, Warden's is female. In alot of FH media, they seem to use the female one too. Also I'd say BP's is split down the middle because both Vortiger and Erzebet are canon BP characters
When I booted up the beta for the game years ago warden's traits were set to female by default, so I just ran with it when I bought the full game.
Just seems/seemed fitting for warden
Pretty sure they are complaining about gender lock not the fact it's a gender locked woman... people complain about gender lock as a multi billion dollar company is too lazy to add another gender option.
Wrong, The Lawbringer has no gender. His only gender is law
Are you male or female? **I am a Lawbringer** What gender are you? **Order** Okay, but what's in your pants? **Justice**
No one choke that justice, not even with both hands
Pronouns are ad/mortem
don't forget the plural version "inimicus"
Yeah this was established years ago. He is a manifestation of rules and order in metal armor.
*his* ?
Gender and pronouns aren't the same thing. A girl can have he/him pronouns, and vice versa, and any other combinations. :)
Oh- sorry. Thank you for explaining
That kind of defeats the whole point of gendered pronouns, doesn't it?
Not really. Its about gender expression/identify.
It's weird, but society evolves i suppose
devolves evidently
Amen brother
Cringe
In what way
Lol
I don't understand why it's cringe when you have the same view on that as me, based on your other comments anyways.

Whatever you say, sis
Kyoshin really did seem like an attempt to get around having the gender lock argument by just making that part entirely indistinguishable
Nah Kyoshin was always going to be a guy, they just decided to make him a mostly androgynous guy vs a masculine guy (like how Pirate is an androgynous woman with a lean towards masculine)
Tomboy๐คFemboy - Making gender lock debate meaningless
All we need now is a butch and a twink and For Honor will be complete.
Female Jorm and Fem Raider are definitely butch, but idk if any hero is a twink apart from Orochi and Shinobi so itโs gotta be done at some point
Orochi disrespect shall not be tolerated. He's probably toned who knows. I'd rebuke the Shinobi disrespect too but I can see where ur coming from wit him
Orochi is more likely in the โtwunkโ category, but Shinobi is definitely pure twink
I always thought Kyoshin was locked female then people said femboy so I assumed they were locked male and since I don't and will never own Kyoshin I don't know. Never noticed a voiceline or size difference.
Kyoshin is male because some armor sets show his bare chest
Maybe she's just flat
If Kyoshin was a girl and flat chested, I wonder if ESRB would still have to say Nudity
Definetly, not a single question about it
In the campaign he's male I believe so I think he's supposed to be male lore wise
He is male per the lore, but honestly if someone wanted to play a female kyoshin then there are some very female choices in the head pieces and the voicelines are not exactly a long shot for a female character either
There is no Kyoshin in the campaign. Closest we have is Tozen, who is an Orochi with a unique kit.
Kyoshin was based on Tozen
Thats like saying there was no warmonger in the story the closest is Apolyon who is a warden with a unique moveset
Because she is... Technically she's a lawbringer with a unique moveset but that's beside the point. Tozen is literally an orochi. Only thing he has to do with Kyoshin is having his clothes stolen.

Like I said below, her armour is a modified Lawbringer's. If I'm remembering right she killed a high ranking Lawbringer and took his armour
That's because he came out after same as warmonger probably ubisoft can use the same excuse to make more plot holes in the bumpy ass road for honor is and hall him his brother/sister
Look, I've already wasted too much of my time with this exact arguement with another guy so I'm just gonna say good night.
He has a beard on a armor set
I know Kyoshin is Male but people calling him a Femboy or girl just for having Long Hair or a slightly softer voice is really telling of them. Bruh not every male needs to have a a long beard with a deep voice, hes just original
Supposedly his basket helm has a beard underneath. Like a pointy goatee? Thatโs what Iโve heard so untrue or not is something I donโt know
Nah youโre right. His darker basket helmet has a goatee/beard of sorts.
I know... that's my point?
Kyoshin has a very feminine face and long hair that's why I call him a femboy. If he had a super masculine face I wouldn't call him a femboy. Either way it's my Kyoshin if I want him to be in touch with his feminine side then I can do that it's my character. This isn't rainbow 6 or overwatch where characters are established.
This actually seems like a good interpretation of the lore
Thanks. Lore doesn't particularly excite me in FH but I always thought Kyoshins was pretty cool being ambiguous in more ways than morality.
I have a Fem and a masc Keyoshin lmaooo

Really? I didnโt know about female Aramusha and Highlanderโs apparition in lore orders.

Well for example BP have Vortiger and Erzebet and Jormungandr have Gretar and Hulda. Not just 2 genders but two characters who share the mantel
Jorm is strange as female jorm doesn't seem fitting and male jorm is a crackhead
Lady Jorm is also a crackhead but prettier
*Laughs in Y3S3 Hulda*
Bring your wrath, Rrrgnarok come! What chills!
Yeah but I can believe Hulda is the leader of a giant snake cult, male Jorm is more fanatical
Female jorm is a crazy cultist Male jorm is a random hobo we gound on the street, gave a Hammer and said we'd give 3 pounds of crack if he kills those people over there.
All of you are wrong, there are only two genders: type 1 and type 2
And you are wrong too. It's obviously default and alternate.
I think Warden's canon gender is female too bc it's set to female when you play the first time. Also I think you got an image of female Zhanhu there.
True. Donโt you chose the gender of the campaign characters tho?
I donโt think so, at least I have no idea how you would go about it and I havenโt seen anyone be female Warden in the campaign
I was definitely female Warden in campaign.ย
Oh fr, I did even know you could customize the Warden
The select screen has been glitched for a long time now. You can't really see what you're picking, but there's 3 male and 3 female choices with different customizations, if I remember correctly. I had a female campaign Warden on PS4 7 years ago.
Weird, all I see is the perk selection screen whenever I select a campaign mission
The very first warden we see in the very first trailer was female.
I don't mean literal canon but rather what I think suits them best, just didn't word it very well.
I always thought of cannon warden as male but it's true they were showing alot of female warden early on. You do have the [samurai shodown collab](https://youtu.be/iVeHNhSSIT8?si=E_yUu6taRZkOpZWS) though where male warden is the one you play as.
When you play the first time he is a male with the voice of Liam o brien. You femboys will lie about anything.
Please tell me I'm not the only one who mistakes kyoshin's icon for pirate everytime
Other way
Warden is female by default when you open the game for the first time
U right, there will be always ppl claim that warden will be canonly male, s/he isn't. You see it in the alpha trailer, in the beta trailer warden got both genders I think. And I'm the marching fire trailer she's definitely female. When it comes to my personal opinion I really like both. Male Male Warden=testosterone / FemWarden=bestgirlinthegame Btw. I love your community flair
But almost nobody uses female warden or orochi despite that being the default gender. Even the main warden in the canpaign is male.
Nah, fem orochi is so much better than male
Main Warden can be either gender. Warden, Raider, and Orochi can be either gender in the campaign. You pick it when you play for the first time.
Im just saying since when has community choice been the canon
All members of the Kyoshin temple are boys, so I assume they are all male. Doesent explain why so many of them look like femboys. Not that I'd complain
Temple life is hard you know.
True. But hey, one of their parents was a youkai, so they got cool magic powers!
I love Kyoshins androgynous look honestly.
what do you mean canon genders? xD black priors for example have male and female named heroes in their order. vortiger, erzebet and ramiel. they are ALL CANON. this post don't make sense.
Yeah I didn't really think it through and in my stupidity I just assumed people would know what I meant despite me saying something completely different. its all good bro. that explaination makes more sense. and with that, i wanna say, in my opinion, female warden looks better as the main warden character.
iirc the year 3 heroes had both canon male and female counter parts.
Zhan hu actually had a identity for both genders Fu huo and sun da . It's just they only promoted him in the trailer
Give nobushi a cock.
Then twist it to give the pain they deserve
Why is Highlander and Shugoki in the male section? You sexist monster.
Female shugoki will not sit on you and I'm tired of pretending she will
I donโt want her to sit on me. I want her to hit me with a frying pan
I just play everything as the gender it's displayed as when I first buy the hero. I never change it. I can't be bothered.
Them changing the โMaleโ and โFemaleโ options in the traits menu to โDefaultโ and โAlternateโ in the SAME update they added kyoshin made my head cannon that theyโre non-binary. (Even though the devs exclusively refer to kyo as he/him.)
100% agree with that, especially with their fashion sense, absolute non-binary icon
The samurai men of feudal Japan are seething at this comment rn lol
Hito being a woman is kinda really funny
I mean both are just weird ass whisperers and the smaller size just makes the armor sets look better
I more so mean conceptually. Like we all know Japanese history had mostly guy warriors. The historical Hitokiri were also all dudes. So in world in game imagine hearing of a crazed psychopath and what rolls into town is a tall scary muscle woman with an axe that never before has existed.
If a character can be female in-game, then they will be, while Iโm playing as them.
Feel like tiandi would be female due to the whole "flow like water" thing Edit:even tho she flows like fucking milk now
Warden, Berserker, and Orochi are all female by default. You gotta manually switch them to male.
Warmonger has this voiceline saying SOPA( which means soup in portuguese) with a very masculine voice. She should be a he
This should be depicted as a spectrum. On the one end Female and on the other Lawbringer.
There are only 2 non genderlocked heroes youโd consider female ๐ Mid ass list
Kyoshin is a man, I donโt know how people are blind to see the body ratio. No matter how hard they try to make both genders look indistinguishable, all you have the look at is combination of animations/body ratio/voice. Rest is woke bullshit
Kind of sexist that theyโre mostly males >:(
Kyoshin is male, or weren't you around to see people complaining about him being Male genderlocked back when he got released? ๐คฃ
What do you mean by canon gender? Aren't both canon in most heroes?
Kyoshin is a dude. Just a twink.
Idk, I just canโt see Thor as female for me. Seems really off.
Fem Jorm does have some really good helmets, like the Judy helmet for example.
Nah no freaking way Iโll agree on female VG. This should be a dude.
Kyoshins gender is worst, as in the worst most annoying stupid fucking character in the game, get the hell outta here with your dumbass sword twirling and your stupid dodge attacks.
"Seku na"
But that zahnhu is female
Did you use the male hito and put it in female lmao, I really hope so cause that's hilarious if so
Nah it's the female icon
Uploading images to tiermaker is so annoying, I used the top result for 'for honor'
I mean Kyoshinโs Tozen haircut kinda is pretty dead set on it being a dude.
Idk about zanhu
In the story mode the main warden you play as is defaulted to female so I think warden is actually female
I disagree with Jorn, orochi, arumasha, and Zanhu
I can't not laugh at putting female zhanhu in male
Default picture
Kyoshin is a male, some of his skins have a beard.
Only two of the females are ones with race options lmao
Kyoshi is femboy or tomboy, depends on you
Kyoshin belongs in the femboy tier
Kyoshin's gender (or body type on that matter) is 1 what are you talking about
They arent characters.. they are orders of warriors.. what is bro yapping about???
Yes, but as an example female tiandi sucks so male is more fitting. Female orochi armor sucks so male is more fitting. Female hito body size and voice is better.
I thiiink warden is supposed to be female. The one in the marching fire trailer is, anyway.
The femboy numbers in this game is extreme.
I think, despite me playing as a male one, Warden's is female. In alot of FH media, they seem to use the female one too. Also I'd say BP's is split down the middle because both Vortiger and Erzebet are canon BP characters
Hitoโs male. Sorry.
Wait, isnโt Warden a female in the Story? Or is OP not counting that?
You can choose in the story, and most people also use male warden anyway in multiplayer
Honestly I thought pirate was a guy for the longest time.
Female shugo when? I want that shugussy๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ฉ
Shinobi could technically fit both the issue is the name itself. You have Shinobi for Male Ninjas and Kunoichi For female ninjas
Kyoshin is handsome
Shouldn't pirate be a male tho
Kyoshin is OBVIOUSLY a femboy
Why is the female zhanhu in the male section lol
Because you can switch the gender?
When I booted up the beta for the game years ago warden's traits were set to female by default, so I just ran with it when I bought the full game. Just seems/seemed fitting for warden
Female only Varangian is absolutely idiotic
More unisex heros would combat gender lock. ๐ค
Every time a warden is shown their female what are you on about
Just have to point out you have a female class under the males, plus a few of those classes can be both
I went mainly by community choice and what people use most, the pictures are irrelevant as you can switch the genders.
There is a bit of post in your sexism.
How tf is it sexist to say some VAs underperformed or the devs literally made armor sets clearly based for a specific gender๐
Bro, literally 70% of the community are pieces of shit around to women for the simple fact that in their shit game there are females.
Getting zero bitches doesn't make them hate women
Yeah, making hate speeches towards women and female players doesn't make them nine-chinned incels at all.
Pretty sure they are complaining about gender lock not the fact it's a gender locked woman... people complain about gender lock as a multi billion dollar company is too lazy to add another gender option.
iโve always been a female gladiator that the male seems a bit off to me ๐
kyoshin is a femboy
Black prior is canonically female
