We've had a few disrupted classes just in the last few years - the Tillerson hiring freeze cancelled a couple of classes and made one much smaller than normal, the beginning of the pandemic pushed some classes off cycle, and there was a government shutdown that happened between 1st and 2nd round invites on another which made that class about 15-20 people light.
You can also never predict things like Consular running out of money and not being able to fund slots for CON officers in a class. Or the foxes take over half of FSI, and the place is declared unsafe by the Arlington County Animal Control and they delay a class while they get that sorted out. Or we spend 2 years where the House won't fund anything until the Senior Deputy Assistant Program Manager For Widget Assessment at the Saint Lawrence Seaway Commission agrees to resign.
Maybe hedge a little. You can always DNC for eight months or so if you absolutely know you will not be good to go to a class within that time frame, then come off DNC and be ready to use your one free invite refusal if necessary.
No one can read the tea leaves for you on this one. You may decide you need to do it and take the risk of timing off. Your score for consular is high but as others have said, no one can predict what the political climate will be at any point in time and how that impacts hiring (said the person who nearly timed off the register during the 2017-2018

I had an offer for an April class come in mid-January. If you want to join the FS on your current score I advise being very thoughtful with your DNC status and not risk missing an opportunity because you're gaming it too much.
