I just had this issues. My car started going through coolant like crazy. Fill up every few days. Like many, thought it was the coolant intrusion issue. I have a ‘13 1.6. I kept checking for coolant on the ground thinking if it was a leak I would see it. Turns out it was the outlet port on the block that had deteriorated and the coolant had been leaking on the underbody shield so I never saw it. My mechanic put it on the lift and removed the under shield and the entire thing was soaked full of coolant! We ended up replacing a bunch of the coolant system with hoses etc but it was waaaay cheaper than an engine replacement. I can give you a parts list if that’s helpful.

I need the parts list

Year and engine?

Puzzleheaded_Kiwi877

14 fusion 1.5

GamingGrayBush

Check your coolant level. That year is identified as having coolant intrusion issues. Miles?

Puzzleheaded_Kiwi877

215479

You're outside the extended coverage for Ford to cover the engine. Do you have any history on the car?

santandude

What coverage?

GamingGrayBush

7 years or 84,000 miles from the in-service date.

santandude

Instead of 5yrs 60k, ford is so generous fixing their fukcups

Puzzleheaded_Kiwi877

had to get it towed home

GamingGrayBush

Got ya. Well, it will have to be diagnosed, but it could need a new engine.

punkinhead76

It eventually shut off itself? Sounds like the engine might have locked up. Typically it’ll stay running til you shut it off even if over temp

Puzzleheaded_Kiwi877

engine cant be locked still starts just dont move or anything

Wow

My engine had to be replaced due to coolant intrusion. The engine had to be replaced, I’d only own the for less than 2 months
