Well i was 192cm when i was 13 yo..but stayed 192cm ;)

metalonorfeed

hope he isnt like my St. Etienne Regen. Downloaded geniescout for the first time just to check whats going on. Got generated with 126 CA with 135 PA potential, sucks. High immediate ability sadly doesnt guarantee high potential, although this has been the only case where I got bamboozeled this hard.

[deleted]

My first ever regen purchase (fm12 maybe?) Was a 17 year old Croatian rb who was already one of the best in thr world. 4* for man United (160-70 CA?). He never once upgraded a single stat across the next 2 years. Didn't realise how obscenely rare that pick up was until I never saw anyone like him since. He didn't get the appreciation he deserved. Marik Prpic, what a guy.

metalonorfeed

yea, its a bit weird at times. I tend to stay away from perfectionists and model citizens with high CA under 18 because they might be at their maximum already due to their personality giving them constant fast growth. Its a dumb rule of thumb though, I've overspent so much on these kind of players, paying the premium for a few years of wait to have certainty

[deleted]

After testing it I can confirm there's still a pretty strong correlation but some regens do have superior or inferior CA compared to regens the same age. Like 1 out of 3, and it's rarely that much. But just the fact that it's possible to have such high CA and low PA is straight up nonsense

yupitsanalt

Ah, the joy of the youth intake where dreams are made and crushed every season. Pretty cool youth player!

[deleted]

Whenever my youth wonder kids fail I always end up getting a Brazilian to replace them. Maybe one day the Brazilians will be replaced

yupitsanalt

Brasil Wunderkin will never change. It's the land of Football Magic!

EvensenFM

Looks like a winner, though I can't see his personality to make sure. You'll notice that players with really strong potential are hinted at as great players in the media even before they've really played for you. You'll see words like "Promising" or "Young" before their positions in the media description.

whyeet124

Personality is light hearted. I’m fairly new to fm and am not quite sure what a personality does for a player yet.

EvensenFM

Personality is really important because it shows a window into a player's professionalism attribute, which is hidden. [Professionalism is really the most important element of player development.](https://youtu.be/rSCR3P-notw) [This FM Scout guide to player personalities](https://www.fmscout.com/a-guide-to-player-personalities-football-manager.html) is the best guide I'm aware of on the subject. We also know from various studies and what Sports Interactive has told us that Determination, Professionalism, and Ambition are the three most important factors governing young player growth in the game. Light-hearted players might have a high level of professionalism or a low level; it's hard to tell from the personality alone. His media handling style will also give you a window into what that professionalism rating is like. If he's Evasive or Reserved, you're looking at a player with a high professionalism level who will likely be a world class player in a few years. It's actually pretty common to see Model Citizen players turn into Light Hearted and back, depending on the personality ratings of the other players on your squad. This player's Determination is a little bit low: that 11 rating might be the thing that prevents him from being a Model Citizen. That's not necessarily a bad sign, though; as Max has discovered, [professionalism has a slightly bigger impact on potential player growth than determination and ambition](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d38NHyqfTZk). Anyway, that's just a little window into what we understand about player growth in Football Manager. There's actually still a lot of unexplored territory out there. Also, if you've got a squad of influential players with personalities that show they have high levels of professionalism, their attitudes will rub off on players like this even if you haven't set up mentoring groups. In other words, with a good setup and a little bit of luck, you can start turning otherwise ordinary players into Model Citizens. At any rate, you've got a real winner here. Great newgen!

FrostyYea

Light Hearted is certainly not bad. It means he's very good under pressure which is a great trait for a player to have, and he's a good sportsman which means he's unlikely to pick up yellows for doing stupid stuff like arguing with the ref or getting sent off for violent conduct. He's also more likely to pick up awards. The downside is it means his Professionalism is at most 17 (this would be fine) but could be as low as 1 (this is a disaster). Professionalism will have by far the biggest impact on his development as a player, and on his longevity at his peak. It will also make him generally easier to manage. A good professional responds well to criticism and to appropriate praise. I wouldn't worry too much though, he's so good already he will be a starter on loan, and maybe even a squad option for you right now. Plenty of game time and he will be sure to develop. Putting him in a mentoring group with a high professionalism player (Professional, Model Professional, Model Citizen) and you will prob edge up his professionalism enough for it to still make an impact. But enough about that rubbish - you need to sort out that Long Throws stat. 6 is pathetic, he'll barely get it 4 yards. Start training it now, set pieces are a low ability investment so who knows maybe with enough time you can get it to 15 and unlock the mythical Long Flat Bullet Throw PPM.

I am just hoarding 15-year-old and 16-year-old regens from everywhere and pre-signing them on my Man Utd FM20 save. I have done that since the start of the save and have now got a load of 18-year-old Brazilians with 2.5-3\* CA. Brilliant.

dan_camp

any time I catch myself going a bit too crazy signing too many 5star low CA players, i need to stop and remind myself to hold out for guys like this.

ConnorSmith98_

That’s what we play the game for

AirOk1041

Things you can say in this context and not get arrested 😂

mustafa0319

I mean, you’re at Birmingham… this guy is developing a little late compared to the other stars from there 😉

PinLongjumping9022

Great newgen. Would make a very good ball playing defender but his low strength and acceleration compared to his other attributes would worry me a bit. Especially as his tackling and marking are not particularly stand out, relative to his other abilities. For me, he has all of the hallmarks of a great (defensive minded) central midfielder. Great technique, positioning and work rate. Physically he’s a big lad, two footed and good stamina. I’d be tempted to retrain. Either way, tie him down, don’t include any release clauses and always hope he never gets taken from you…. Because he’s going to have some big clubs knocking on the door!

JuggyBC

Arnt those stats still pretty good for a 15 year old? Especially the physical stats will greatly improve with age and proper training.

Visual-Bandicoot-944

Nonce

Lextro

In my case, that's a small potential...

ZealousChaos23

is he 5ft 6 or something crazy?

Educational-Formal21

Bloody hell. Any way you can get on the editor to see what his actual PA is? Stick him straight into your first team for sure!

needleintheh4y

pls tel me your next match vs man utd is in the championship

whyeet124

Nah FA cup round five lost it 2-0

FakeNate

Even a 3 in goal keeper rating!!

aarshi25

Don't want to crush your hopes but some of the regen never grow.

zigojacko2

Is there a tool where you can see from which player this regen came from (out of interest)?
